PERSENUS

Biography
Persenus was born to a Noble Echani Family on Eshan, his homeworld. He was born with the name Vinas Ovarien, though it would later be changed to Vin O'varin for the sake of discretion. The young Echani was born from an illegitimate love between an Echani outlaw, a warrior turned smuggler outcasted after having been falsely accused of murder, but his mother was of the noble class. The two were truly in love, his father risking his life to return to Eshan to see her every year. Eventually, his mother carried him, and his grandmother was furious. She would have demanded him to be aborted, to be killed before his existence condemned their family. His mother refused his death, though. When he was born, he lived in secret on their Eshan, acting as a servant to the family. His mother did shower him with the education and training any Echani child would receive, but whenever his grandmother found him alone, there would only be a cold chill, and pain. His grandmother made sure he not only seemed like he was only a mere servant, but tried her best to make it reality. She looked at everything he did with eagle's eye for any mistakes that she could pile on him for punishment. He was tasked with a number of back-breaking chores and degrading work, though it only served to make him stronger physically and expanded his skillset. He learned how to gut an animal, skin them, and fashion weapons from their remains from his grandfather, who took him as a hunting assistant. The engineer made him an apprentice to help around in fixing the family's ships in exchange for lending his personal droid aid him in lifting the heavy work. These were all acts of mercy to the child, trying to show him that he could depend on people, but that was not what he saw. His grandmother's influence had already rotten him, he saw everything as an exchange, nothing was ever free.

The only people that were exceptions to this were his parents. His mother treated him with kindness, though her failing health when he was eight made her too bedridden to do anything substantial for him. His father came to see them every few years, having been warned that his presence might further push the grandmother's patience. Eventually, she broke. Persenus' grandfather thought it would be okay for him to stay over for dinner one night, given his work had him constantly moving about with no home made meal. Bless the old man's heart - many thought his patience is why he managed to bear his wife's short-temper, but he wasn't the best at reading the room.

Vinas was given a new name when he left Eshan - Vin O'Varin. Rather on the nose, but it was a nickname that made him feel like the same person. His father wanted him to have that at least, knowing that everything he once had would disappear. On the day he left, he said goodbye to his mother. She caressed her face before falling into a weary slumber. When he looks back on her memory, that was what he sees. He sees her lying there asleep, dreaming longingly for a time that never was, where all three of them were really a family. Vinas would never see her again after that. Now he was with his father, an outlaw, living life by the edge. From then on, he learned the art of the deal. They sold weapons, spices, and all sorts of illegal materials. His father, still an Echani Warrior, made sure to train him in the art of combat to defend himself. Vin learned negotiations, both lax and "aggressive" kinds. On more than one occasion, he learned to smuggle himself through lines of security, developing tactful stealth capabilities. Up until his fourteenth year, he learned the grasp of the dangerous lifestyle that he would be submerged in, honing skills that would keep him alive so many years later.

However, his father made a mistake. He was tasked with delivery by the Hutts - carrying an expensive little package he would not care to know about. Black Sun, however, offered him more money and protection from the Hutts. So he followed through, but Black Sun only gave half of their bargain. It wasn't long before they were caught and imprisoned by the Hutts. After a bout of torture, his father gave up what he knew, that the goods were with Black Sun. For his compliance, they let him live, but transgressions are still transgressions. They took Vin, seeing that he was a young, healthy, hot-blooded Echani, perfect for the fighting pits. He watched as his father struggled against the bonds, trying to stop them, but that was the last moment they would have for many years to come.

In the fight pits, a boy as young as him would've died in their first fight. No one would bet on a child - he was just used as entertainment on intermissions to be chased around by beasts. The first beast was a lucky kill and was celebrated well, but not thought of after that. The second, however, coincidences started to seem shaky, and by his third, they knew they had a warrior in the making. Now, against other combatants, he made his way up the ladder, fighting only to survive. In spite of this, his innocence held on for years, believing one day his father would come to get him. All that he needed to do was survive until then, scrape by and try to not get maimed. As he fought on and years went by, his waiting was done. At the cusp of adulthood, he was just scrapping for a meal, scrapping to keep on living.

Then he made it there, finally a recognized fighter. The Hutt overseeing him remarked that his prediction is that he would win his freedom in a year, but the year came by, and then another. He realized that the Hutt was right, there have been offers for him to have his freedom bought off, to be set away from this wretched place, but he dismissed them. The Hutt was using him as the false card - House Edge, something that came brutally clear when they started to starve him. They kept him in a dark cage with little to no food, but plenty of stimulants. They'd market him as a savage beast, ravenous, and awarded anyone that could take him starved a bounty of credits, knowing that his own skill and strength would prevail, as it never failed before. He became addicted and several health problems arose over time, and the Hutt started to see. Now, he was being stripped of the only thing he had left, his power. However, the fading inches of strength attracted the eyes of a spectator.

Darth Festrous was his name. He was a Dathomiri Sith Scholar, studying the ancients and harnessing their knowledge to his own ends. He made an offer that the Hutt could not refuse. An offer that he wouldn't be able to refuse. Darth Festrous offered him to stand by his side as an apprentice. All he needed to do was kill one man. They dragged an old man in rags out from another room. He was chained up, dirty, and smelt like piss and shit, kept in a worse prison than he was. He was beaten and injured, already sick from some disease that was killing him. In spite of being near unrecognizable, Persenus knew who he was the moment they had him in. It was his father, who was caught and imprisoned trying to free him many, many years ago. All he needed to do was kill his father, and he'd be free.

Everything came as a blur, and next thing he knew, he was in a hospital, being helped with his addiction to chems. Festrous named him his new apprentice and began his teachings. Persenus was a notable talent in the Force, the Darkside coming easily to him. He has been living in fear, rage, and anger every day of his life ever since he was young, he natural inclination to the dark side would be more surprising if it weren't there. Most notably, he was a student of great brute power, his physical might being well-translated into the Force. However, he did lack a notable degree in control, something that he would develop only later in life. He was on his way to being a very recognized Sith.

Still, much of his time was not spent learning the art of combat, not even Saber Combat, though he would come to master and specialize in it. Darth Festrous remarked that him teaching Persenus the art of physical application would be like a duck teaching an eagle how to fly. Instead, Festrous focused on Persenus' mental acuity, something Persenus loathed. The hot-blooded Echani had little patience for the mental application, but much of Festrous' teachings still punched through. Persenus learned the art of Sith Alchemy and a good number of other sciences to some degree. He learned deeply about the history of the Sith, learning the many tactics and stories of the Sith of old from Revan to Vader. Still, he had very little interest in the dead.

When it finally came for the day that he could fully utilize his skills in the fight against the Jen'ari, he fought alongside his master. They, together, brought about many victories. He urged Persenus to cooperate with many Sanctums in his training, giving him a wide array of experience in dealing with most situations, from Inquisitions to Assassinations. Persenus always was a great assassin with his skillful art of the blade and cleverness to allow him moments of genius in tight spots. However, he instead went with the Sanctum of Strength when he graduated to Sith Knight, as it was war time, after all. It attacted someone like him, the battlefield. Upon his time as an Acolyte, he was called a very promising student, with great power and ambition.

Festrous was a member of the Sanctum of Knowledge, though he took active part in the war as a general and by the time he graduated, was no longer his master. However, he still served under him as a Commander. When he was an Acolyte, yes, it was natural for Festrous to take credit for every step they took. Persenus, now free from teachings, was given arduous tasks from his expecting master, but he stumbled, and fell often. He wasn't as fit as a leader as he was an assassin, and while he may not be a military failure, he could feel the disappointment in Festrous' eyes.

It angered him so, that look from his master. From his failures, the records of his former promise and potential faded from the memories of others. The victories he made were put under Festrous' name and Persenus knew that he had to overcome him now. He was his biggest rival to advancement, and advancement was everything to Persenus then, as was to most Sith his age. Persenus had not the silver tongue nor the wit to scheme against Festrous and defile his name. Persenus was ultimately an unpleasant conversationalist, and knew only one way. It was by blade.

During some of the last leagues of the war, he and Festrous fought back to back against the Jen'ari Forces. Masters came to combat them and Festrous and he fought them off. The Dathomiri, though his great skill with a saber, was not skilled enough a swordsman to persist unharmed through the fight. He lost his hand in the fight. Persenus, however, was unscathed due to his superior physiology due to alchemical enhancements. He saw his chance, took it, and he failed.

His master named him a deserter, and the bounty on his head was put heftily. Now, he wanders the galaxy, evading Bounty Hunters and Assassins alike, keeping to himself and his saber.

Description
Persenus is a tall, pale and bald Echani male with markings all over his body. He is muscled and strong, but his structure is lithe with little fat fitting for someone having spent most of their life fighting endlessly just to survive. He is often topless, reasons why being unapparent, however he does bear a Jedi's hooded coat - you can guess where he had gotten that from. The markings on his body symbolize an increase in his skills as given to him by Festrous, and come with boons that aid him and his strength in the Force. He has an oddly perfectly symmetrical face naturally, but he does bear a crooked nose that has been broken a bit too many times that ruins the quasi-perfection and balance. His eyes are naturally silver but have yellowed into a predatory amber due to the darkside. The Dark Side has yet to show any signs of corruption besides the yellow eyes and the dark markings around them.

His voice is deep, liquidating, and calculated. (Adetokumboh M'Cormack) He is noted to be particularly good looking, though the nose and unpleasant expression often ruins most images of friendliness and charm he has. He has some signs of aging, looking older than he is due to stress, but is ultimately not out of the range. He has wrinkles on his forehead and crow's feet on his eyes but is otherwise still sprite. Perhaps the Dark Side accelerating his aging might've some hand in it but his minor practice in some Lightside abilities may hinder the corruption as only those that are completely enveloped by it become as disfigured and horrid.

Personality

Focused || Willful || Impatient || Desperate || Judgmental || Aggressive || Proactive || Principled || Reserved || Adaptable || Introspective || Dry Humor || Sarcastic || Zealot || Hypocritical || Practical || Spiritual || Creature of Habit

Persenus is a decisive man of few words though at the same time more saber-happy than most Sith would be, so he could come to more violent decisions quicker than many others would. In spite of this, Persenus is often reserved and caught in internal monologues that often take up the most of his headspace. He is a spiritual person with cemented opinions about the world, about how a Sith should carry himself and rule, opinions that would earn the ire of other Sith and Dark Jedi with how adamant he is about them. To give into the Dark Side, in his philosophy, is not the way of the Sith. To follow a predestined will set before you is not how Sith work. To be controlled, to be put under heel, to become another cog in a machine is what Persenus believes to be antithetical to the philosophies of a Sith, who fight against the ideologies of a Jedi that fulfill the status quo.

Instead, one should not be conquered by the Dark Side and instead conquer it, to beat it into submission and bend its will to your own. He is much in the sense against the ideas of Darth Momin and Darth Sidious, instead better associating with the philosophies of Darth Plaguies The Wise and to some extent, Darth Traya. The Jedi are the ones that are carried by the will of the Force in their actions and thoughts but the true Sith are the chosen few that are gifted with the chance to instead carry it. The Force presides over all living beings and to bend it to their will means that they preside over them as well. Persenus firmly believes that a Sith should not be slave to desires, though indulgence may be allowed. To become a slave to oneself's emotions, to become enthralled by the Dark Side, is once more, a sign of weakness and is the antithesis of a Sith to him. Sith are expected to wield emotions and use them to fuel their power and not let their emotions wield them instead. If that was the case, then they'd be no better than Dark Jedi.

Persenus is often found to be rather introspective of his own faults in his beliefs, how he fails to live up to his own standards. Persenus is a naturally aggressive man with several centuries worth of rage inside him along with an animalistic side to his persona developed in the pits that has yet to fade after all these years. He fears giving into savagery and often berates himself when he does so. To this extent, he has essentially taken in Jedi Teachings, things his master is also capable of giving as the former Jedi Knight that he was, to be able to inhibit his own darkness from consuming him completely.

Due to his more reserved nature, if he wasn't under constant stress, Persenus is often rather swell and relaxed, though he still remains judgmental and strong his beliefs. He is sarcastic with his dry but not bland humor. His practice in Dun Moch has developed a sharp tongue, though he still lacks any silver on it. He carries a sting in his word few other Sith could match, even among Sith Lords, carried by either a joking persona or a cold and grave voice. He is witty and carries himself with formal and well-kept mannerisms if he can stop himself from delivering any venomous remarks even if they are in good faith.

Persenus hates drugs and alcohol. Perhaps it would be because of his philosophies but it is mainly because he's gotten through addiction before and he isn't willing to go through again. That experience is precisely why he believes what he believes. He doesn't think anyone could feel powerful when they themselves are under the influence, be it from stim addiction that increases aggression or the Dark Side. Persenus also practices celibacy to some extent, though he's never thought of such activities much. He frowns upon those that indulge in these wanton objects to overt extents and if he were to drink, if only for purposes of formality, he'd likely nurse his cup and hope that no one notices he is not consuming anything.

He also has some reservations on killing children and taking slaves, though only the former actually has some explanation by his philosophy. Persenus, like drugs and alcohol, dislikes wanton killing, though he has participated in it himself and has never been proud of such actions. A Sith kills whom and what he needs to, and children are much more useful alive than dead, though perhaps the remnants of a good moral compass sill lingers inside him. That compass shines more so in his dislike and abhorrence of slavery and his disdain for slavers with such hatred being a more personal matter than one of belief and philosophy.

In spite of being one of the more educated fellows among his rabble, Persenus is impatient and takes study intolerably. He does like the thrill of exploring, dangers all about, defenses in the archives he can slay, but the actual studying and learning part did not come easy. Persenus eventually did take up to consciously start reading but that was later in his training and even then, he didn't read for long. He has a love for discovery and adventure but the tedium of rifling through the nonsensical musings of dead men was not something he particularly enjoyed. Nor was he keen on any memorization and comprehension of physical shiftings of sciences but like reading, he adopted it into his habits eventually.

Skills & Abilities
Combat Instinct
First and foremost, he is a warrior. Persenus is at least minorly skilled in almost every conventional weapon from Vibroblades to Blasters. He is a particularly notable martial artist, capable in Echani and Bakunni Hand, as well and is remarked for his masterful hand-to-hand techniques, though much of his skill is based upon instinct. In combat, he is often extremely perceptive and alert, using his surroundings to maximum effect before or during direct clashes. This makes him rather annoying to fight against, seeing that he is more inclined to turn the world around him into a weapon. He aims to be unpredictable and quick-witted in the turn of battle, yet has a notable lack of forethought on some actions. Like any Echani, he has a near precognitive feel for combat combined with his Danger Sense due to his combat acumen.

Lightsaber Forms
Persenus is a mastor of Form V, finding expert knowledge in Shien and a near perfected form of Djem So. He favors domination and offense, though Djem So contradicts his usual, more dynamic, style of movement by principle, and as such, he rarely ever uses Djem So without a few personal touches, particularly around footwork taken from Ataru and Makashi. He also has expertise in Makashi and Ataru, more offensive styles that provide him with more tactics and skills to keep the fight in his favor, though overall rather exhaustive, a common troupe in Persenus that is not only limited to combat. With Soresu and Shii-Cho, he has mastered the foundations of and he a grasp of its more advanced techniques, proficient in their use. Along with all of that, other forms of Lightsaber combat are in his repertoire such as rather experienced bout with Jar'Kai, though he is still more comfortable with his Saber Spears. He is annoyingly good in Dun Moch, though, perhaps that is a trait of personality rather than any skill. He has novice skill in the art of Juyo and Niman, having unfortunate talent in the former and general disinterest in the latter.

He is often characterized by his great initiative in lightsaber combat, almost always advancing and pressing upon his opponent's with great strength and speed with very minimal use of Force Abilities outside of self-enhancement. It is rather odd that he has the mental state and sense of battle that one would have for Juyo but his emotions and confliction find that such style is less favorable, making Vaapad seemingly more viable if he ever were to learn it. His skills in Djem So, Makashi, and Ataru, however, make him an excellent saber duelist as they all stem across each other, with Djem So having roots in the other two, and those roots being expanded further. When such offensive prowess meets a wall that he cannot break down, he does what most others do when their style finds nullness; he reverts to Shii-Cho.

Persenus' defensive qualities are not lost, being practitioner of Djem So, the second most defensive style to Soresu, but he finds that the best defense is a good offense. Pressure your opponents, push them into disarray, and destroy them when they're off-balanced, is often his goal, but in case that such things do not arise, he often falls back simply to Shii-Cho or Soresu. When it comes to blaster fire, he is often well enough equpped with Shien, deflecting blaster bolts back with a blade barrier. Persenus almost never uses a reverse grip, and is of the many that share the sentiment that it is a travesty of a grip.

Persenus is trained in Strong Style, Medium Style, and Fast Style, often using it as a way to gauge the traditional Lightsaber Forms, combining them together. Fast-Style Shien for small-arms defense or Strong Style Shien to deflect powerful blasts from larger firearms. Of course, certain things were just not meant to be, much like using Fast Style with a Double-Bladed Saber or when using Djem So. At the very least, Persenus is not skilled enough in the styles to meld them together.

Multilingual
Persenus has been taught a number of languages from his time with his master, delving into ancient ruins, reading indecipherable text to a layman. He is proficient in Basic, Mando'a, Huttese, Binary, ur-Kittat, and Jawaesse and while he cannot speak any other to any great level, he can understand a handful of others for conversations. As the student of the Sith Scholar Festrous, he has delved greatly in the works written in common and High Sith.

Ingenuity
Persenus has some capability in the sciences, knowing well of technology in almost all facets, though not to any notable degree. He is reluctant to use any chemicals he makes, knowing addiction first hand. His current situation doesn't give him much funding to make anything as well, limiting his talents to fixing his saber.

Roguish Talents
Persenus is an expert in the ways of stealth, honing his skills as he was on the run. He knows well how to conceal himself in crowds as well as hiding in the shadows. Persenus knows of several stealth and distraction oriented tactics, such as staying above forty-five degrees, or using bugs to his favor.

Athleticism
Persenus is extremely fit, at the peak of his race's power for one of his size and weight. He is strong enough to be able to lift and throw grown human males around without the use of the Force with one hand with little to no stress. He can attack fast enough that even other Force Users would need to focus to be able to defend against him. His acrobatic traits are made very much apparent with his love of darting around the battlefield. And his endurance is simply monstrous, swinging his especially heavy blade around for long drawn out battles without losing efficiency. His natural athletic prowess is further enhanced by the alchemical marks he has upon himself.

THE FORCE
Like said earlier, Persenus is a naturally gifted Force User, with great innate power, but lacking somewhat in control and finesse as well as variation, though in later years he has been working that side of him up. He has mastered the foundations like Force Speed, Force Jump, and Danger Sense. While the strength of his telekinetic abilities like Force Push are very much a cut of their own, his skill in enhancing himself is a might few can match.

He has trained himself in various manners of Force Enhancements, like Battlemind, Force Weapon, Force Body, and Enhance Attribute and all the such to an adept to masterful degree, even the ones sided with the Lightside, and has honed them so much so that he can use all of them in tandem with each other, though this itself is a stressful ordeal and is more made for practice than any actual use in combat. This is the facet he most trains in, being of the warrior-type among Force-User

He also displays exemplary skills in more destructive uses of telekinesis, particularly Force Destruction. The often very winding techniques can be used often by Persenus without threat of constant exhaustion. The techniques that require more finesse and control, though, like Force Repulse, will often falter in his hands. Much like any Force-User, he likes to make use of Force Push and Force Pull to destabilize his opponents, but also makes frequent use of rudimentary Force Wound upon the lungs and hearts of his opponents, not to inflict actual harm, but to instead destabilize their breathing and bodily function, stripping them of their rhythm and stamina.

In terms of mentalist abilities, he does have knightly experience, capable of affecting resistant races and shielded minds to minor degrees, using Force Fear on them and such, though such skill only arose due to his specialization in Djem So with emotional projection and dominance being very important in its use, along with the ability to dig into the person for their fears and insecurities. Beyond that and personal shields, he has rather rudimentary abilities in the mental spaces of the Force, with his Force Persuasion being rather easy to shrug off. He does have strong mental shields, and even without the Force, he has constructed mental defenses against abilities like that.

More esoteric abilities are rather shut-off from him. Aside from Tutaminis and Force Shock, he displays little to none of them. His master tried to teach him Force Stun, Force Drain, Pyrokinesis, as he was a very versatile teacher, but Persenus failed to pick up any of them. Mechu-deru, a technique his master had been very keen on teaching Persenus to increase his intellect, had failed to grab purchase in his repertoire. Even mustering more finesse-based uses of Telekinesis will often fail even with considerable effort like Force Whirlwind, Force Barrier, Telekinetic Lightsaber Combat, and Force Rend. Unlocking door locks may even be a complex task for him even though it is a task most Padawans will do a with some concentration, and Knights can do with a simple gesture. It is not that he can't do it that way, it may take slightly more time, it is simply a show of how little finesse he has when it comes to the Force, and he would rather simply crush the lock with the sheer strength that he has in the Force or in his own body.

And finally, Sith Alchemy. While rather incapable of most abilities beyond telekinesis, mentalism, and self-enhancement, Sith Alchemy stuck to him surprisingly easily, though he never did advance beyond adept skill levels under his master due to Persenus, overall, being a rather poor student when it comes to such sciences.

Note: Some of these powers are created by me, and are often created after certain points in Persenus' character.
Control
  • Virility: A Dark-Side Force Technique similar to Battlemind, augmenting one's ferocity through becoming absorbed in the flow of battle. It drew from the love of the fight and the wish to dominate, similarly to Vaapad and Juyo, gifting the user increased physical capacity but did not let the user to lose control in the midst of combat unlike Force Rage, but is less effective than it in the power it brings. This power was gained after his initial fights with Kesran, Raya Krayt, and Gnox the Insatiable, battles that came consecutively and made that time his most physically active of his journey at that point.
  • Force Recover: Force Recover is a Light-side technique that draws power from a state of mind that allows for quicker recovery in the physical and mental reserves and constitution during the breaks between combat. It is less a Force Technique but instead more akin to Force Affinity, wherein it is a manner of stance and state. It cannot be used during more intense moments like bladelock but is used to quickly call for strength in brief pauses or after fights. This technique, as it is Light-Side, weakens the darkness as it requires a certain peace of mind, reducing anger and aggression. This was first being developed during his time on Lothal and was becoming more apparent just before his altercation with Raya Krayt.
  • Force Strength

ALCHEMICAL MARKS
His master's way of marking his progress were through tattoos made through Sith Alchemy that enhanced his physical abilities as a reward for withstanding his lectures. The alchemical substance used in the markings seeped into his body, granting greater strength, power, speed, reflexes, endurance, and resilience to Persenus. This allows him to compete in unarmed combat against physically superior opponents such as Wookies and Trandoshans, though matching Wookies in strength would still prove to be foolish without use of the Force. With them, his natural athleticism is increased even more. He is well capable enough to bend durasteel bars and run with weights that even the strongest his kind would struggle to just deadlift. His speed and reflexes have been augmented to the point where he can deflect saber blasts without precognitive gifts from the Force, though less effective than it would be with it. He has a very high tolerance for pain and damage similarly to Zabraks and their hardy constitution, small-arm blaster bolts doing considerably less damage against him. Persenus can also go for days with minimal sleep and sustenance and recover from grave wounds if he is treated well in a matter of a few days. The alchemical marks increase his physical potential, giving him an even higher ceiling of strength he has yet to reach.

Strength & Weaknesses
Strengths
  • As an Echani and a veteran of combat, he is obviously very well acquainted with physical conflict. He can read people extremely well with or without the Force in combat, allowing him to predict moves and act in accordance.
  • He is extremely physically strong, fast, and enduring, capable of pushing his body beyond his limits time and time again even as its falling apart and still be able to give most opponents a run for their money. When enhancing himself with the Force, he is much stronger than some of the strongest of Wookies and Draelvasier Bedruins, capable of resisting the affects of Force Push with the sheer brute strength.
  • He is rather clever and quick-witted. He is decisive, capable of making hard choices in less than a moment. He doesn't get rarely ever gets hung up or becomes overwhelmed by odds. Persenus' ability to stay calm in the heat of battle all the while fueling his power with pent up rage is commendable.
  • As a natural talent in the Force, he grew to be rather powerful in it in sheer brute force.
  • He is intelligent in a variety of sciences and tactics.
Weaknesses
  • He has a noticeable lack of foresight when it comes to his plans. He doesn't seem to realize that his schemes are infallible until after they fail.
  • As a Zealot, he holds to heart his inflexible beliefs. He is uncompromising and unflinching, uncooperative unless he gets his way. save for only a few exceptions.
  • Impatience has also been a massive contribution to his ability to plot and scheme. As creative and imaginative as he is, able to cobble together plans within moments, he often doesn't spend a moment more. He is the type of person to get lost in feeling and combat, after all. He doesn't spend too much time thinking in comparison to his master. In fact, it was his master's teachings that had caused him to become more of a tactician and intellectual than he was when he first came out of those pits.
  • Confliction with the Dark Side inside him and his refusal to give into his emotions can make him disrupt his prowess until he manages to sustain his fortitude in his mental space.
  • Beyond Force Fear, his actual abilities with Mind Tricks and other Mentalist Based talents are little and sparing. Though, he has learned how to use his limited experience in them to some utility.
  • He has little capabilities in more Esoteric Forms of the Force outside of Alchemy and Slow. He does not carry any abilities in Force Drain, Dominate Mind, Force Lightning, or any of the abilities a Sith of his caliber would actually know. Many at his level would know and have experience a few of such abilities but nary is his experience in them. It is as if he actively chose to stick to a more basic build rather than advancing in more branching skillsets, though with what he has, he is very good with.
  • He has a noticeable lack of finesse in the Force in comparison to those at his level. It takes somewhat more time for him to unlock a doorlock than most Padawans would.

PERSENUS

Qoritottoi..... Ashaottoi....

SKILL DEVELOPMET
Persenus' training involves the tempering of both his physical and mental faculties. It often has a focus on controlling his brute power and adding a touch of finesse to his excitable attributes. His combat acumen increases between each new encounter steadily. He has a focus on reinforcing the foundations of his blade arts and maintaining the physical athleticism he still has. Perhaps he could be stronger with more meat on his bones, but being perpetually broke and also not one for food makes Persenus on the thinner side. In the Force, he constantly strives to learn more esoteric abilities such as Force Lightning to be able to expand his skillset.

On Lothal, he first began his true meditation cycle. He learned how to better meld himself to better understand the flow of the Force. With it, to let it wash over him, letting it ripple against his form like water fall to ease him of worries and pain, and to expand his senses to the outside. This is inherently a Lightside abilitiy, and as of then, did not personify as any Force Technique, but its calmness allows him to find the wisdom to better overcome and control his emotions to focus them into a sharper point, using Jedi Techniques to enhance the Darkness inside him.

In Back In The Pitts, he was faced with a formidable Sith Acolyte, the best Sith Acolyte he had faced so far in spite of his deceptive words, by the name of Kesran Opadal Kesran Opadal and in spite of the gap in experience, managed to hold up against Persenus for a good while, long enough for Bounty Hunters to seek him. In this battle, Persenus faced a Sith with roughly the same build as him with a focus on sheer power, and turned to instead adapt to a more conservative fighting style than he usually uses to gain the upper hand. Of course, this made the fight rather drawn out, too long for a Djem So specialist like himself, allowing Kesran to call upon the help of Bounty Hunters. Persenus' tactical prowess and control in the Force showed through in this, improving inchingly towards a zenith.

As always, he found himself the superior duelist of the two, as is most of the case, though Persenus would think twice in meeting this Sith again in sheer power. He relied mostly on his dueling capabilities to win the fight, using the Force as minimal as possible outside of self-enhancement, where Kesran used great and powerful techniques. Persenus skill as a duelist was tested harshly in dealing with such forces.

On Belgaroth during the events of Salvaging Whatever Is Left, Persenus practiced, if only for a moment, his ability to meditate and be absorbed into the Force. This lasted until he was quite rudely interrupted by the Mandalorian known as Raya Krayt who tested truly his abilities with Affect Mind. Affecting the mind of a Mandalorian, though one unfamiliar with the Force, would still prove a daunting task. Persenus, with all the venom in his words, is not a schemer or a plotter of any notable extent, but he practiced the principles of domination taught to him in Djem So to its greatest extent here, using powers such as Force Fear and Force Slow to whittle down her mental constitution all the while assaulting her with stinging words addressed to her insecurities.

Persenus bested the young Alor in combat, forcing her to run and take refuge against Persenus' overwhelming power. However, the little Mandalorian managed to escape, angering Persenus as the fight was all for naught. He gained nothing but the wrath of Clan Krayt. Still, the fight sharpened his ability to affect the minds of those he combated. Additionally, in his meditation, he had finally resolved the Lightside inside him into a technique known as Force Recover to help him quickly regain lost physical and mental energy reserves to heal exhaustion from physical and Force exertion in combat or any other demanding activity.

Don't Take Me As Prey was set on Dandoran, featuring a brief encounter with a the Sangir Sith Lord, Gnox the Insatiable , whom proved too powerful for Persenus to defeat. Persenus' skill allowed him to hold the beastly Sith Lord off though he could not function at the peak of his finesse, as using his preferred fighting style, Djem So, against a monster like Gnox would be fighting fire with fire, and Gnox's fire clearly outshined his. He was forced into a more moderate form like Shii-Cho which he wasn't as skilled at, though capable. It was his power to react quickly enough to the advances of Gnox that allowed him to evade deadly blows, gifted to him by the Force and his Echani Training.

The encounter was almost completely reactionary. His attacks in melee were mostly counters which is uncharacteristic of Persenus as he likes to take initiative and pressure his opponents. Trying to pressure Gnox would not be wise, he could tell that. Instead, he tried his best to adapt to his fighting style, taking advantage of Gnox's lackadaisical approach as he didn't bother to evade any of Persenus' attacks. Persenus knew that Gnox could if he tried, perhaps then he could've used Djem So, but he he wasn't quite sure he'd be able to have escaped then.

After these three combat encounters, he had finally resolved the use of the Dark Side to create a Technique that allows him to become independent of an emotion's control over him while still enhancing him, unlike the Force Rage. The Force Technique known as "Virility" had been created, allowing him to truly channel both Focus and Passion into a sharp point. It is similar to Battlemind as it draws from his love of battle and is tempered by his own control and focus rather than wanton rage and fear like Force Rage.

It was in Chance Meeting that he had encountered a strange Jedi Master, Raz Asai'il Raz Asai'il , who proved that he was likely one of the most skilled Lightside Force-User he had encountered thus far. He had been hired to steal targeting chips for Raz, and when he had succeeded and came to get his reward, a conflict on philosophy took place. Persenus argued that he should not be paid more than agreed to as it was antithetical to his development, but Raz refused to give in, saying that to omit doing so was antithetical to his own. It eventually culminated into a fight, wherein Persenus soon realized that Raz was not just an ordinary Jedi.

In combat, Persenus was forced to deal with an extremely slippery opponent that almost refused to attack him to any great extent. Persenus, fueled by his anger, resolved to break through it with his utmost strength. He was to prove that his philosophy was superior with blood and strife but when Raz set his blade down, Persenus could not deal a finishing blow. Killing Raz would prove nothing then, as it would be a death given and not earned.

Persenus asked why would he would submit so readily, why he would not take power into his own hands to change the world itself to be able to truly make an irrepairable difference for the goals he so wished. He asked why he would go through and perpetuate so much pain just for an ideal. He was then said that strength came from fighting against even such futility, and it is through understanding the walls that confine them to lead to a less destructive end is what he ultimately found solace for in a harsh world. Then came the words that told Persenus of what put him on the precipice of revolution, and yet he could not step forward. In the end, Persenus found himself in a better understanding with the Lightside, even if only subconsciously.
