GENERAL INFORMATION
Unit Name: Petrite Troopers

Description:
Petrite troopers are the Order's crowning achievement in Sith soldiery. Through a combination of Sith alchemy and Dathomiri magic, they have been turned into ideal soldiers. Their primary focus is to serve the interests of the Order (and more specifically, Darth Petrichor). Very little else is of consequence to these troopers, and they hold no capacity for loyalty outside of those within their ranks or the Order.
Through magick and alchemy, the memories of troopers are selectively removed, leaving only what is necessary for them to function within the context of their duties. They are also enhanced through further alchemical and magical processes, giving them the ability to perform at much higher capacity in combat scenarios.

The standard combat kit for a Petrite Trooper is as follows:

Combat Function:
The Petrite Troopers are the bulk of security and protection for the Order and its assets. This can involve anything from guarding the Fulcrum, to acting as security detachments for members of the Order. They also have the ability to function as spec ops units, and are able to assess threats and deal with them with methodical efficiency and swift precision. They are able to adapt to situations quickly, and are ready to combat most threats against the Order.
The troopers usually operate in fireteams of ten, unless a situation calls for a larger deployment. This is rare, however, since they do not usually carry out missions outside of their duties to protect the Order. Each fireteam is mentally linked, allowing them to share a natural bond with each other.
Strengths:
- The troopers are essentially reborn into ideal soldiers. They will seek to serve the wishes of the Order till their dying breath.
- Their unwavering loyalty cannot be bought, no matter what bribes or threats are offered.
- Petrite troopers are enhanced through magic and alchemy, giving them enhanced senses, reflexes, strength, and endurance.
- Each fireteam shares a mental link, allowing them to sense each other. This allows members of the fireteam to operate in sync in combat with minimal communication.
- The process of creating the troopers takes weeks to complete. This means that any losses will take time to replenish.
- Though difficult, it is possible to reverse the transformation process. If the process does get reversed, the trooper would be unable to undergo a second transformation, as the process would kill them.
- If a mental attack is strong enough to affect one of the troopers, then all of the troopers in that fireteam will be affected. A mental attack strong enough to affect a trooper will ripple through their mental link, causing the fireteam to lose their coordination for a short period of time.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
In his years of teaching, Darth Petrichor found himself with a growing list of enemies. In an effort to provide greater protection for the Order, he became determined to create a force of soldiers that could withstand a wide variety of threats. Working with some of the most innovative members within the Order, he finally created a process that would help him reach this goal. Having traveled to Dathomir in the past, Petrichor learned of methods used by the Nightsisters to create stronger warriors. He took what he knew and applied it to Sith alchemical processes brought forth to him by some of his followers. The biggest question, however, was how to combine these ideas to create a super soldier.
The first obstacle was finding a way to both ensure the loyalty of the troopers, as well as keeping them focused on their purpose. The conclusion to this was one of memory. It was determined that the troopers would have to be purged of any previous attachments in order to become effective soldiers. Thus, a memory rub was implemented. This process was modified to target very specific parts of memory, so that the troopers could maintain the skills to function and communicate normally.
After the memory rub is completed, these troopers are submitted to a series of rituals that enhance their combat abilities, as well as establish connections between members of each team. These rituals take weeks to complete, and those conducting them need a period of rest in between the creation of each unit. The troopers are placed into a deep sleep as well, as to limit the risk of any potential damage during the transformation process.
Many outside of the Order might look at the troopers as slave soldiers, but this is simply not the case. There are many who have come to the Order seeking to serve, but not all are Force users. Those with no ability within the Force have the option to become troopers. They are given all of the information of the process beforehand, and go into it willingly. The Order prefers this, because they believe that willing recruits make more ideal subjects. If the subject is submitting on their own accord, then their body will be less likely to put up resistance, making the process easier on those conducting it.
It is rare to see Petrite troopers away from the Fulcrum. If they are seen away, it is usually as an escort to someone within the Order. The exception to this is with the Excerpts of the Order, as the Excerpts often operate alone and seek to avoid attention.
