Monty had a change of heart after a series of visions brought forth from his father from beyond the grave. He's forsaken the Sith and his crime syndicate by enlisting in the Republic Army to follow in his father's footsteps. Because he felt guilty for all the wrong he's done to folks he opted to become a Combat Medic so he may help those trying to help the Galaxy.
Because of his past guilt Monty is very quiet, more than occasionally depressed, and fairly self loathing. Not the loquacious type. Still a hardened killer whose military training has only expanded upon much of what he already knew being trained as a hitman from age six to fourteen.
