+ High Rate of Fire + Use of Ostrine in the construction of the cooling systems of the weapon allow it to achieve a stupendous rate of fire with minimal issues during standard, advised operation.
+ Split Beams + When fired, the weapon does not produce a singular bolt, but rather a triad of bolts to cover a wider area with optimal spread at average dog fight ranges measuring 7.63 centimeters. Each bolt containing the same deadly capacity as the other.
- Split Beams - If used beyond typical dog fight engagement ranges, the triad of Beams begin to fluctuate outside of optimum pattern and reduces the number of bolts on target.
- Ammunition Cap - The Ammunition capacity while linked to an engine system is technically infinite. As a control point however, the fire control system that is tied into the weapon forcibly "chokes" the power feed to reduce the potential for overheating the barrels or overheating the beam splitting lenses and causing alignment issues that could prove fatal to the vessel or pilot.
Revisiting the first version of the weapon platform, refinements were made to make the weapon platform as capable as possible within a dogfight scenario rather than appealing to a general use ideology.
Cutting the projected impact range down allowed for more power to be diverted to the damage output, while modifications to the assembly enhanced the blaster actuators, generating more bolts down range in a much shorter time. One issue that began to make itself abundantly clear however was housing failures during extended uses beyond 10 second bursts.
Barrels melting due to the sheer amount of heat generated overwhelming the Ostrine enhanced system, or the same issue of heat forcefully changing the lense focus and bending the beam projections through the housing and in a myriad of directions at a High rate.
To circumvent the issue, a power feed limiter was placed inside the housing for a Maximum 3 second burst with around 6.7 seconds time to cool down in typical Atmospheric conditions with the barrels spinning. With roughly around 9.8 seconds of cool down time when the barrels returned to an immediate resting position rather than continuing to rotate.
A two stage trigger engages the system, the first stage engaging the barrel spin and preparing the blaster actuators while the second step activates the weapon. Continuing to hold the trigger through a full burst will continue to spin the barrels to cool down before full power to the weapon is restored and allows for another Volley of bolts.
Optimized for dogfighting, the range of the weapon platform is lacking for most larger vessels that might perhaps use the weapon system as a point defense rather than a main armament. On ground units, the weapon restrictions are comparable to the vehicle it is attached to but could potentially create issues with Recoil on lighter vehicles.
One engineer joked about using it in place of a groundbuzzer cannon given the alarming specifications present.
