+ Robust + While not as well armed as some dedicated military vessels, this design can serve as a surprise raiding vessel or picket ship for starfighter protection.
+ Layered Armor + Including such countermeasures as point defense weapons, the armor and shielding systems grant the Bristleback Corvette a decent chance in combat scenarios.
+ Automatic Co-Pilot/Gunner + A boon in case one finds themselves in a dire situation. The vessel is able to defend itself as a last resort using the Automated Droid co-pilot and gunner should some of the bridge crew become incapacitated or otherwise.
+ Variables + The vessel lacks in dedicated speed and maneuverability, but the engines allow for a change in both measures depending on the need.

- I'm Sorry Dave - The vessel is more than capable of being operated by a single pilot that is tied to the on board droid flight system. Anyone not cleared by the system however might find airlocks and bulkheads across the vessel suddenly opened or the system non-responsive. As well, when operated by a single pilot with the on board droid, the combat and flight capabilities of the vessel are greatly reduced.
- Variables - When the VOID systems are active, it detracts from the appropriate capabilities of the vessel; i.e. making the vessel slower but more maneuverable and vice versa.
- Slowly Now - The standard speed of the Bristleback makes it a sitting duck when caught out by itself.
- Like a Beacon - Due to the VOID engine systems, the energy signature the Bristleback emits are easily found by most scanners.
- Sidemount - The presence of the Bomblet Generator, Flare System, and Anti-Missile system in a sidemounted system makes them potentially vulnerable to direct fire.

Minimum Crew Required: 1 Pilot + Droid Gunner
Optimal Crew Complement: 34 + Droid Assistant
Passenger Capacity: 54
Consumables: 7 months
Cargo Capacity: 1,200 Metric Tons

A venture into picket vessels, the Bristleback also dabbles in the capabilities of an intersystem defense Corvette. Not nearly as fast or maneuverable in its standard operation, the vessel however can engage its VOID systems to make up for this downfall.

Taking inspiration from the EF76 Nebulon Frigates, and compacting down large sections or entirely removing them from the blueprint to end up with something that could be considered an homage to their design. The Bristleback however sports additional panels atop the main structure as a final protective layer to the main body of the vessel.

These Seigurium panels protect the vital components of the vessel as well as the living quarters and passenger compartments. Sporting a small, single Hangar Space for a private vessel beneath the forward nose in either a docking tube extension or as a small starfighter hangar that is able to close the side and front blast door when not in use.

Designated as a Picket vessel or Intersystem Defense vessel, the lack of standard engine power is largely ignored given the ability to boost the output for quick fleet adjustment purposes. While the direct mission operations for these vessels are tied to escorting larger vessels into combat zones, this does earn them a very weak title as an Assault vessel. This however does come with the knowledge that they lack significant armament to truly fulfill the role.

While concerns over the engine power were voiced, the vessel's purpose further cemented the reasoning to limit the vessel's engines. While faster than larger vessels, they are too slow to pursue starfighters, ensuring they remain present for their intended purpose rather than strike out and leave their escorts unguarded.

Their operating doctrine is to remain in a sizeable deployment, flanking larger vessels in a battle group, or as a vanguard on merchant routes to protect against surprise attacks. The major draw for smaller, independent systems is the lack of intricate parts and ease of maintenance.
