- Cool Power- The use of Cold-Fusion reaction generates very little heat, allowing the system to better mitigate the heat generated during standard operation of the Reactor and Hyperdrive Generator. Even including integrated heat sinks to disperse heated exhaust from the system while powering the auxiliary systems.
- Scale- The system is able to scale from the smallest vessel to the largest with little change in generated output. There are some limitations to the hyperdrive scaling however.
- Down and Out- Should the Reactor or Hyperdrive Generator take a significant hit, the chain reaction that ensues could be catastrophic for not only the equipped vessel, but those within close proximity of the vessel.
- Locked In- A downside to using the stock system is the locked 2.0 Hyperdrive Class. Without modifications, even larger vessels with higher power output cannot go beyond the systems inbuilt limitations.
- Modifications- Reactor enhancements may provide further power to additional systems, but could nullify the added bonus of the Turbine system to power auxiliary electrical components if the power draw is significant.
- Ion and EMP- Similar to most systems, Ion and EMP strikes will take out the systems relative to the surrounding external and internal armor of the vessel. Should the system go down, a manual restart is required, causing potential issues without appropriate remote restart functions.
Another addition to the wider market from Priddy General Engineering And Manufacturing in the form of a Starship Reactor and Hyperdrive Generator. While available for the larger market, it is geared towards paramilitary use given the compact construction of the entire unit.
The Reactor Generator unit features a myriad of higher quality parts, though most of these parts are within easy access for maintenance purposes. Even for those engaged in questionable operations.
Featuring an emergency crank restart modeled after an energy pump-action to produce a manual restart after unexpected shutdowns. The crank-restart being adjustable in location with dedicated modification. Such relocations may be within a cockpit of a small starfighter for easy reach, or even as an external unit of an engine bay for speedy recovery in high stakes situations.
Alongside the emergency restart auxiliary, the system comes with auxiliary power upgrades that blend with a number of PGEM systems. While a large limitation of the system is within the locked 2.0 Hyperdrive Class, it still boasts a healthy speed for most civilian uses.
Utilizing a continued trend of larger market applications, the most difficult part of this system comes from repair or maintenance on the system. While a smaller hyperdrive saves space, the system is paired together intricately and even minor issues can be a time consuming ordeal within the confined work space.
Truly, a mechanics nightmare.
Aside from the space issue, the use of Etharium as a fuel source reduces the required space for different fuels, and expedites the ignition of the Hyperdrive system without the need to prime a separate fuel system.
With an agreeable level of operation achieved, the system was given the green light for production.
