TRAITS
+ Force Sensitive: Always a plus. Pharus is currently receiving training from a Sith Knight, though he has barely scratched the surface of what he is capable of.
+/- Noblesse Oblige: Pharus is a nobleman, born and bred. He is privileged and used to getting his own way, but he also feels it is his duty to be exceptionally generous and courteous to others.
+/- Loner: Pharus is independent and can work alone. That said, while he may prefer solitude and dislike the company of others, humans are social creatures and it isn't healthy to be alone all of the time.
- Cold Shoulder: Pharus is (understandably) angry and bitter over his current circumstances. When he isn't pushing people away, he is prone to starting arguments and disagreeing with others (sometimes just for the sake of being a contrarian or defying those who hold authority over him). He despises his adoptive family, viewing his legal guardians as his enemies, and has no patience with his siblings.
PRE-ROLEPLAY HISTORY:
Born into the noble House Dystra, hereditary rulers of the fiefdom of Genovia, Pharus was raised in the lap of luxury. He was an only child and doted on by his parents, Lord Cronus and Lady Lucretia Dystra. However, he was orphaned at a young age when his parents were killed in a transport accident. Custody of the boy and governance of the realm was handed over to his uncle Sylvus. Pharus had a good relationship with Sylvus, who acted as a surrogate father to the boy.
When Pharus was thirteen years old, the Sith invaded Eliad. Uncle Sylvus defied the Sith from the very beginning, and was killed early on in the conflict. Hours after receiving the news, the Sith Knight Arcturus Dinn showed up on Dragonwyck's doorstep, demanding to meet with Lord Dystra. As the last surviving member of his family, Pharus was brought out to meet them.
Pharus was terrified, but defiant. He instinctively manifested a Force Scream in an attempt to defend himself from the Sith, revealing his previously hidden Force Sensitivity. But despite this, he was ultimately cowed into submission and made to bend the knee to the Sith. Arcturus took a liking to Pharus, apparently due to his strong Force sensitivity and his equally strong resemblance to his wife Rhiannon. After obtaining permission from the new monarch of Eliad, Darth Xyrah, the boy was made Arcturus and Rhiannon's ward.
Though his new life is not so markedly different from his old one - he still lives in a castle with servants to wait upon him - he has not exactly adjusted well. Pharus is seething with barely restrained anger and resentment over what happened to his homeworld and people, not to mention the loss of his family and birthright. He has a strong sense of entitlement which, under the guidance of his newly adopted Sith family, may boil over into a lust for power. But for now, Pharus Dystra is just a smooth-cheeked boy sulking and scowling on plush cushions...
