Description
Expanding the phrik based product line of Reclaimer Arms and Industrial this new protective insert is as basic and as primitive as it gets in terms of protection next to taking phrik and turning it into a friggen shield that you toss around like a frisbee. But unlike the physic breaking cape crusading defensive tools of fantasy and comic books the SAPI plates have actual use to them and can be very effective in protecting the user.
Strengths. With the ability to stop most blaster rifle hits and lightsabers, the phrik SAPI plate is a tough customer that offers a very good range of protection against energy based weapons. It's designed to be thicker than normal armor to be able to dispel energy that is struck against it, be it saber or blaster. However it does need to be stated that this will dispel plasma energy, not kinetic force. So even if you are hit by a blaster bolt, you may not get riddled with holes but you will still feel the kinetic impact of such an attack. Also be sure to watch out for large scale turrets and vehicles as this plate is specifically for small arms. Anti vehicle weapons can damage the plate and user heavily.
Weaknesses. The SAPI is made of purely phrik then painted black. It'll stop small caliber hand guns like a Nine Millimeter and a Twenty-Two, anything larger though from a Forty-Five and up will do the trick of piercing the phrik and entering the user's squishy bits. Corrosive acidic materials will also compromise the plate and eat through the metal, acid launchers, acid slugs, general arrays of acidic weapons can destroy the plates.
Summary. If you're looking for some pretty basic and minimal phrik protection this is for you. They are great against sabers and blasters but do not get too confident while wearing this as a simple shot from a slug thrower will pierce it and compromise your gear.
