TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Classification
: Spinal Replacement
Size: Small
Weight: Light
Resistances
  • Energy: Low
  • Kinetic: High
  • Lightsabers: High
  • Sonic: Low
  • EMP/Ion: Very High
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Not visible from the outside without close inspection. The device is well made and not noticeable outwardly, though metal scans would detect it.
  • Full spinal replacement. It grants Elpsis increased strength, and durability.
  • Features a processor to move signals from the brain to the limbs. Essentially, it helps interpret and transfer signals from one part of the brain to the other. This is essential because the spine controls everything a person does. Without it, nothing works.
  • Ionization Buffer.
  • Features auto-injectors that can provide a temporary boost by pumping adrenaline, drugs and stimulants into the host's system. An example would be painkillers suddenly flooding the host's veins, or wounds coagulating at a faster rate than usual. Stimulants can provide a temporary burst of energy. Of course, the crash when the cocktail wears off is not pleasant.
STRENGTHS
  • The Pillar of the Phoenix grants increased strength, durability and the ability for prosthetics like her leg to kick harder. It is good for lifting and bracing against heavy weight.
  • Resistant to lightsabre attacks, as well as kinetic impacts and ion.
  • Auto-injectors can provide a temporary boost in times of need.
WEAKNESSES
  • The foremost job of the spinal replacement is not protection. Its overall resistance to blasters and similar attacks is low. If it suffers a direct hit from a blaster bolt it might survive but the tissue around it will get burned up.
  • Strong sonic impacts can damage the mechanical components, as the vibrations can shake it up.
  • Overuse of the cocktail of drugs. This is not healing. Moreover, the cocktail of drugs can cause a hard crash afterwards once the high wears off.
DESCRIPTION

Elpsis could have a far easier life, if she wanted. She is, after all, the adoptive daughter of a megacorp owner and quasi-despot. If she wanted, she could leverage her status as the 'Fire Princess' to become a rich socialite, a philantrophist or get a senior job in Firemane's Force using branch that will not require her to participate in brutal combat on a regular basis. She has shot all these options down. She regards a life of luxury with utter disdain. To her, a life not spent for the cause is shallow and meaningless. Her way of life has unsurprisingly taken a toll on her body. When flesh fails, it is replaced by hard metal.

The Pillar of the Phoenix functions as a full spinal replacement to ensure the host's mobility and ability to operate. The device is well made and not noticeable outwardly, though metal scans would detect it. The artificial spine features a processor to move signals from the brain to the limbs. In contrast to Elpsis' other cybernetics, the artificial spine is not Force-imbued. Its primary purpose is not being exceptionally tanky, so enchanting it to boost its resilience does not make much sense, and there is not much point in giving it special, preternatural attributes. Moreover, there was no time to alchemise it after a serious injury necessitated spinal replacement. Phrik has been used for the plating though.

The Pillar has the advantage of increasing the host's strength, allowing them to lift heavier weights, put more pressure on their body and such. For a example, Elpsis can use her prosthetics such as her cybernetic arm to hit harder. Moreover, it features auto-injectors that can provide a temporary boost by pumping adrenaline and drugs and stimulants into the host's system. Of course, overuse of a cocktail of drugs will produce a hard crash. The Pillar is well-protected against ionic and EMP attacks, but exceptionally strong ones could still damage or disable it. This is dangerous because the spine essentially controls everything a person does. The cybernetic device is susceptible to a well-placed blaster or sonic attack since protection is not its foremost purpose.
