SPECIAL FEATURES
- Tractor beams
- Nasty at short range.
- Quite quick.
- Subpar shielding.
- Less maneuverable than most escort frigates.
- Short-range weapons only.
- Tricky to use: One of the capital weapon types is good against shields and worthless against hulls. The other is good against hulls and worthless against shields. Use this ship correctly or you’ll probably die.
The mission profile of the Borurr-class frigate is to approach a larger enemy at very high velocity, using its maneuverability to stay ahead of the majority of large-weapons fire. Once the Borurr reaches close engagement range, it begins rapid maneuvers around the enemy ship. Raptor ACES shieldcutters whittle down enemy defenses, at which point the unique Pimbrellan beam weapons carve long breaches through the hull. Obviously this tactic doesn't work out so well against enemies who have company. In ORC fleet engagements, Borurrs often play a skirmishing or escort role.
