Piracy? Really?

"Bring her to my office."

"Uh, sir? We don't have your address?"

"I'm just kidding; I don't have an office. I'm coming now."

The holocall ended rather abruptly after that.

Clad in a thick leather coat that fell to his ankles, Darius Sedaire strolled through the drab detention block. The girl he'd been called about had evidently been force sensitive, though why the Jedi that had come through had opted not to take her along with them was anyone's guess.

"Probably busy running errands for the grandmaster," the youth murmured to himself, green eyes darting from one corner of the hall to the next. He'd come alone for this little outing, but that was how things always were these days.

Darius did his work on his own. Not because he wanted to, but because that was the hand fate had dealt him. He would be remiss if he didn't at least try to play with the cards.

"You Mister Sedaire?" The burly guardsmen asked of him. Darius gave the fellow a curt nod. "That's me. She in there?" He gestured toward one of the numerous cells behind the guard.

"She is. The girl's just barely an adult, so we were going to try her like one. I'm not a fan of putting kids behind bars, but piracy is a serious crime." The guardsman explained as he offered Darius a datapad. "It's a good thing you're doing: taking her in like you are. I'm sure you're very busy with Jedi business. We don't get a lot of you out this far. Most of 'em died with the Archlord."

A brow was quirked a Darius signed the required paperwork. "Oh, I'm aware. I'm the only one in the sector. Senate doesn't like the Silvers coming up here. They're afraid of religion." The datapad exchanged hands.

"They're right to. We'll take your help all day, but I don't want your folks ruling over us without an election if it's all the same to you." The cell slid open.

"Don't worry. Ruling people is the last thing a true Jedi would ever aspire to." Darius offered the man a brief smile as he stepped into the cell. The door hissed closed behind him. Framed in the dim light of the room, Darius folded his arms over his chest and peered at the girl he'd come for.

"So, you're Jame?"
