SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
- Heat beamer:
- Modified Extreme Heat-beamer; Fires wide beams of extreme heat that burn at a similar temperature to lightsabers, Cutting holes through durasteel, Duraplast and other resilient materials with ease, Not to mention organic matter.
- Extreme heat beams can heat a target's armor, Causing extreme pain through armor even without piercing it.
- Disruptor:
- Low powered disruptor shots are capable of disintegrating limbs or large holes through organic matter within seconds of impact.
- Disruptor shots deal high powered sonic force on impact, Knocking over targets and dealing blunt force trauma to the body.
- Sonic disruptor shots deal extreme sonic damage, Rupturing organs and causing severe blunt trauma on impact and disorienting enemies on contact.
WEAKNESSES
- Power consumption:
- Disruptor shots consume one of the six loadable gas cartridges with every shot, Severely limiting the ammunition capacity while in disruptor mode.
- Ionic defenses:
- This weapon does not feature any form of ionic or EMP defenses, And such damage to the weapon can and will disable it.
- Side effects:
- Sonic disruption shots are notoriously loud, Firing this weapon without ear protection may induce hearing loss with prolonged use.
DESCRIPTION
The PK-45 "Peacekeeper" was designed by Aloy Vizsla after reading battlefield reports written by her daughter while serving with Death Watch, Detailing the weapons and armour worn by the New Imperial Order's Storm Commandos after an encounter on Ordo. It needed to compete with existing sonic weaponry and armor similar to mandalorian Beskar'gam in protective value, And thus the PK-series prototypes were launched.
The first iterations suffered many setbacks, And the power consumption crippled the ammunition capacity. To compensate for this while yet providing some form of anti-armor capabilities on the battlefield, A second firing-mode was included; A modified heat beamer, Based on ancient and poorly utilized technologies that were quickly repurposed and upgraded by House Vizsla's warsmiths.
The result was the PK-45; A hybrid heatbeamer that utilized a high powered plasma-based flamethrower that had been highly focused into a beam, And modified to output far more heat than actual "Energy" damage, Burning at a temperature similar to a lightsaber despite having very different properties, Able to melt holes through the strongest metals in a single shot and far worse to organic targets.
When faced with much more powerful armor however, The PK-45 featured a sonic-disruptor mode, Capable of dealing equally extreme sonic damage to a target. Targets that weren't partially atomized due to their armor were instead subjected to extreme blunt force trauma and had their organs ruptured, Bone crushed or muscle broken beyond repair beneath their armor.
After some particularly satisfying results when tested on captured imperials during very one sided war games, The PK-45 was gifted to trusted members of the Black Hand Collective's rebel commandos, And provided in small numbers as a gesture of good faith to the Death Watch Crusade, And to Enclave's Karjr as a sort of bribe. A reminder that, Though they may be criminals, The collective still had mandalorian interests at heart.
With the vanishing of Aloy after the fall of the mandalore to the new imperial order however, Clan Vizsla has warsmiths began producing these weapons for The Enclave and their own Kin, making them a popular weapon in the northern frontiers of Roon and among Vizsla mercenaries working in Tor Valum.
Later on, The Black Hand Collective was reformed into a manufacturing company, and began selling to other buyers in the outer rim territories.
