Ravenfire
King of Pumpkins
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Intent: To give a base for plasma shaping technologies.
Canon Link: N/A
Primary Source: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plasma_shaping, https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Phase-knife.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Manufacturer: Mirdirmorut
Affiliation: Mirdirmorut
Model: Plasmatic Shaper.
Modularity: No
Production: Mass-Produced
Material: Magnets, Plasma Condenser
SPECIAL FEATURES
Using magnets to shape plasma into different shapes with the potential for it to be stationary or moving.
Strengths:
Shaping to shaped - can shape any plasma including any plasma that might be fired at the device.
Weaknesses:
Too hot it’s going to short out - The device needs time to cool after prolonged uses as it is possible for the magnets to begin melting if too hot.
DESCRIPTION
Having created the PR-20 many years ago Mirdirmorut had been testing plasma technologies however this was put on hold when they discovered antimatter being more useful in weapons and how to contain it safely along with generate it. They used a number of magnets for it however had a number still left over.
There was one researcher during this time however who was hell-bent on figuring out how to make plasma more useful than it currently was especially after coming a phase knife. This curious design used molecular shields the keep the plasma in a shape. However making anything bigger would be a waste of power the researcher summarised.
So he began playing with more designs similar to the phase knife but felt like he was missing something and with the antimatter ideas closing up he began playing with some of the left over magnets seeing what they could do to affect the plasma. This lead to him being able to shape plasma into viable standalone devices or even weapons.
However he only found out about the second part on an off chance which nearly resulted in his death while messing around with it as they were testing a batch of PR-20s that had just come off the assembly line. As such they were put into mass production as soon as possible being relatively cheap to make being just plasma condenser units as well as a bunch of magnets with that being relatively cheap.
