The warmth of the sun filtered through the high arched windows of the training grounds, casting golden streaks of light across the polished stone floor. Valery stood near the center of the spacious room, her arms loosely crossed as her eyes scanned the tranquil space. The quiet was fleeting, she knew, as the session ahead promised both challenge and growth.

A small flame flickered at her fingertips, dancing playfully as she twirled it with a casual wave of her hand. She extinguished it with a flick, a faint smirk tugging at her lips. Today's lesson was not one to be taken lightly — pyrokinesis was a powerful skill, one that demanded control, precision, and a steady connection to the Force. It was as dangerous as it was mesmerizing, and she was eager to ensure her Padawan approached it with the respect it required.

But the lesson wasn't her only intention today.

As she waited, Valery's thoughts wandered to the snippets of news she'd heard about. Specifically, a certain closeness had been noted between her Padawan and Roman Vossari Roman Vossari , and while Valery had yet to directly address it, the prospect of teasing her Padawan was too good to pass up.

She shook her head, chuckling softly to herself. It was her duty as a Master to guide her students, yes, but a little well-placed teasing? That was fair game.

The sound of footsteps drew her attention, and Valery straightened, her smirk returning with renewed energy. Anneliese appeared in the doorway, "Anneliese," she greeted warmly, "You're just in time. I've been warming up." A deliberate emphasis on the word warming hinted at today's topic, but Valery wasn't quite ready to dive in yet.

"How've you been?" An innocent question, but her eyes already sparkled with mischief.

Tython was over — the shadows of Bogan had been driven away by the light that was in her heart… and her time recuperating with Thurion had given her a renewed sense of self, strength and confidence.

She was thankful Valery had been patient with her during her time away… and even more so thankful she’d been granted such a long leave of absence with all that was still going on at large in the world.

Removing her robe and loosing her boots she stood silhouetted in the light in the locker rooms, just outside of the training rooms. Closing her eyes and taking a few deep but measured breaths she centered herself. Opening her eyes and she walked through the doors and into the training dojo.

Before she could even form words Valery spoke, greeting her.

A warm smile spread across her face as she bowed deeply before her — greeting her Master for what felt like had been in a very long time.

“Master Val, it is good to see you.”

Valerys presence was warm, steadfast, and comforting… for she wasn’t just a Master or Mentor to her, but acted almost as a surrogate
Mother.

As she raised out from her bow, speaking to her — the young woman’s frame would be seen now. Anneliese had always been athletically built… but now standing before her, after all that had transpired over the past few months, she had become slightly leaner, more defined. Much like a sword that had been refined and its impurities removed, the edge honed and sharpened… Anneliese stood with more confidence than she had prior.

“I’ve been well — much better now, thank you. I must thank you for slowing my time with Thurion. It was trying to say the least. I grew to love Midvinter while I was there. I grew to love it’s skies, it’s people, the crisp cool air. The people, the small things that showed love, care and respect to one another — and the camaraderie at the end of the day. Thurion’s constant presence became a source of strength and healing — but…”

She paused as she closed the distance and fully embraced Val into a tight and endearing hug.

“I missed you so much.”

Valery's fiery gaze softened as Anneliese closed the distance and embraced her tightly. Without hesitation, Valery wrapped her arms around her Padawan, the hug warm and full of maternal care. For a moment, she held her close, a small smile tugging at her lips as she took in the strength and confidence Anneliese now radiated.

She had clearly missed this.

"I missed you too," Valery said softly, her voice filled with affection. "It's good to have you back. The training grounds just aren't the same without you, and you haven't seen the new baby yet either!" Oh yes, Valery was very excited to share that. Once the training session is over, she would have to show some pictures.

She gently pulled back, her hands resting lightly on Anneliese's shoulders, and studied her Padawan with a mix of pride and amusement. "I'm glad to hear Thurion was such a strong source of support for you. His guidance and Midvinter's peaceful nature are gifts not many get to experience."

Then, her smirk widened, and a teasing glint sparkled in her eyes. "But... I hear someone else has been important to you lately?" Her tone carried the unmistakable weight of playful mischief as she raised an eyebrow knowingly.

Valery's hands slipped from Anneliese's shoulders, crossing over her chest as she leaned back slightly, a full smirk now playing across her lips. "Perhaps a certain Jedi with amazing red hair...?"

Her expression was impossible to miss — this was a Master who knew how to poke fun while still showing her unwavering support.

Her head tilted slightly to the side as her emerald eyes showed the surprise at the news of a new baby. When had she been pregnant? How did she miss that?

“Baby?… and I wasn’t there to support you…”

Inwardly, the pang of guilt at this realization hurt and stung. Anneliese should have been there, should have been able to support her during that time… but instead, in her eyes, she hadn’t been strong enough to shoulder what had transpired on Bogan.

No more, never again.

Smiling outwardly, as her hand tightened slightly in frustration at herself she congratulated Val.

“I’m so happy for you and Master Kahlil… I would love to see those pictures as well as the baby soon… very soon. I can even help babysit if you need a rest Master — it’s the least I can do.”

Ball, right outta left field would come into play.

Valery brought up to remembrance about the certain young Jedi that was courting her — evidently she still hadn’t come to the conclusion from their last meeting that it was in fact Roman… either that, or this was the beginning of a very long interrogation session.

Smiling awkwardly at Val, she spoke as she fiddled with braiding her hair.

“Well — I believe you do know him… Roman Vossari Roman Vossari . Him and I have been courting now for quite sometime and I … he—… was the one that… uhmmm, gave me this…..”

Raising her left hand and once again showing the promise ring on her left finger, she looked at Val trying her best to gauge her reaction.

“He loves me, and I him. He is the part of me that was missing Master. He supports me, comforts me, listens, gives me reason to fight harder, longer… and makes me a better person.”

Valery’s smile widened at Anneliese’s response about the baby, her fiery eyes glowing with warmth. “Oh, don’t feel bad about that,” she said gently, giving her Padawan’s shoulder a reassuring squeeze. “You had your own challenges to face, and I wouldn’t have wanted you to rush back just for me. But now that you’re here, I’ll happily take you up on babysitting duty — even Jedi Masters need a break sometimes.”

Her tone was light and playful, but there was no mistaking the genuine affection behind her words. Valery was clearly overjoyed to have Anneliese back in her life, not just as a student, but as family.

Then, as Anneliese’s words turned to Roman, Valery’s expression shifted, her smile growing sly as she folded her arms across her chest. “Well,” she began, a teasing lilt in her voice, “You’re lucky it’s Roman, or I might have sent him to an early grave for dating my Padawan.”

Though she laughed softly, there was an edge to her tone — the kind of subtle warning that hinted at just how fiercely protective Valery could be of those she cared for. “But Roman… he’s a good man. I’ve seen that for myself, and I’m glad he’s been there for you.”

When Anneliese held up her hand to show the ring, Valery’s eyebrows shot up in surprise. She took a step closer, gently taking Anneliese’s hand to examine the ring more closely. “This is beautiful,” she said, her voice softening. But then her gaze flicked up to meet Anneliese’s, her expression a mix of amusement and mock incredulity.

“And when exactly were you planning to tell me about this? A promise ring! This is big news, Anneliese!”

Valery released her hand and stepped back, her arms crossing again, though her grin remained firmly in place. “It’s about time you invite him over for dinner. I’ll cook, and we’ll all sit down and talk.” Her grin turned more mischievous. “I have questions for him. Lots of questions.”

Her tone remained playful, but her protective nature was clear. Valery was happy for her Padawan — more than happy — but she was also determined to make sure Roman understood just how important Anneliese was, not just as a Jedi, but as family.

Relief could best describe how she felt upon Valery's approval of her fiance being Roman... however, a nervous chuckle escaped her lips as she searched for an excuse as to why she hadn't told Valery about what had happened.

"Well.. I mean I was going to tell you, of course I was going to tell you! But... it all happened right before the campaign to Tython, and everyone was busy, I was just waiting for the appropriate time to tell you, and... well ask you..."

She paused as she looked at Valery.

"My time with Thurion was... nothing short of amazing like I said. He frequently told me stories of Coci, and hearing that love -- even seeing the love you and Master Kahlil exhibit, i realized something -- I'm engaged, and we felt it was the best thing at the time... to wait... and allow this symbol to be a promise of what is to come... but --..."

She paused.

"I told Roman when I saw him, after arriving -- I do not want to wait any longer. I realized on Bogan, death waits for no one, its no respecter of persons... and I may be young, but being young has nothing to do with what I know is real, and true and genuine in my heart. I'm not talking about children, but, I hope -- one day, they will come..."

Taking a deeper breath and exhaling, she continued.

"I do want him to meet with you, and Master -- I wish to be married. I would rather spend my life with him -- bound fully, than apart. I want your blessing above anyone else's -- you are not just my Master. You are my friend, my Consul, and -- I look at you above all, more of a Mother than anyone has ever been to me in my life, your approval and blessing is everything."

Valery's fiery eyes softened as Anneliese spoke, the sincerity and passion in her Padawan's voice tugging at her heart. Each word, each pause, carried so much meaning — love, hope, and a profound trust that Valery cherished deeply. By the time Anneliese finished, Valery's smile had melted into something warmer, something more tender.

"Oh, Anneliese," she murmured, stepping forward and pulling her into another tight embrace. This hug wasn't just full of affection; it was brimming with pride, approval, and the kind of love only a mentor and surrogate mother could give. "You've grown into such an incredible woman. Of course, you have my blessing," she said, her voice trembling slightly as she blinked away the moisture gathering in her eyes. "You deserve nothing less than a life filled with love and happiness."

Valery held onto her Padawan for a moment longer, letting the emotions settle before she finally pulled back. She smiled, her hands lightly resting on Anneliese's shoulders as she studied her with a mix of joy and nostalgia. "It's hard not to get teary-eyed when your Padawan is getting married," Valery admitted with a chuckle, dabbing at her eyes with a sleeve. "I'm so proud of you."

But then, that familiar mischievous glint returned to Valery's fiery gaze, and a sly grin spread across her lips. "Speaking of Roman, though…" she began, her tone light and playful. "Why don't we call him over? He could watch us train, maybe chat a little. You know, just to make sure he's ready to keep up with you." Her grin widened, clearly teasing but also hiding just the faintest trace of serious intent.

Valery stepped back, folding her arms and tilting her head as she quirked a brow. "What do you think? Should we bring him into the fun?"

Roman's heart hammered against his ribs as he stepped into the training area, the sound of their voices drawing him in like a moth to a flame. He'd tried to give them space, to allow Anneliese her time with her mentor, but the pull of her presence had become irresistible. Hearing Valery suggest he join them sent a jolt of nervous energy through him. He hadn't expected his name to be brought up yet, with all they had to talk about.

He meandered closer, stopping a few respectful steps away from the two women. He drank in the sight of Anneliese, her face alight in a way that made his chest ache with fondness. His gaze flickered over to Valery, her expression both amused and assessing, and a knot formed in his stomach. He knew Valery was a fierce Master, and even fiercer in her protection of her Padawans. He'd been a bit worried about this meeting.

"Good afternoon…" he began, his voice a little rough around the edges. He met Valery's gaze, his own expression trying to convey both respect and a genuine warmth towards her.

Roman's gaze flicked to Anneliese, a soft smile curling his lips at the sight of her. He was aware of Valery's presence, but he couldn't help but let his feelings show, at least a little. There was so much he wanted to say, but the words seemed to get stuck in his throat. "It's…good to see you both." he finished lamely, his cheeks flushing as he realized he hadn't really said anything at all. He knew he must seem incredibly awkward right now. But how else was one supposed to act when the woman you loved was watching you fumble around asking if it was okay to marry her Padawan?

Um9wLtZ.png

“Definitely… I’ll need to try to figure out where he’s at.”

Everything was falling into place; and life seemed easy and idyllic. She had the blessing, she had the boy. There was no drama, no on going war campaign. They were not all separated and scattered to the winds… no, life was perfect.

But…

The reality of Roman and Valery, well — talking, the chit seemed scary as hell. What’s the worse that could happen? I mean, after all… they were Jedi. She was the Grandmaster — and as someone who held such a title she had to uphold a certain level of decorum.

Well that’s calling the kettle black…

A smile cracked across her face as she bit her tongue and did her best not to laugh… Val was going to run that boy through the crucible.

Then, as if by some cruel sense of humor, the universe dropped Roman in a nice and neat package on Val’s doorstep. Her eyes flashed to his as her checks flushed, a quiet worry now arising in her emerald gaze as if quietly saying “run” to Roman.

“Oh!… hi Roman… we were— uh, just talking about you.”

Valery's sharp gaze flicked between Anneliese and Roman, her lips curling into a smirk so mischievous it could almost be called villainous. She took a small, deliberate step closer, folding her arms over her chest as her eyes lingered on Roman with mock intensity.

"Well, well, Roman," she began, her tone warm but carrying a teasing edge. "What impeccable timing you have. Here we were, just having a very… spirited discussion about you."

Her gaze darted to Anneliese for a heartbeat, and the corners of her lips twitched, the unspoken you're not helping him, Padawan clear in her expression. Valery took another step forward, closing the space just enough to keep Roman teetering on the edge of unease.

Her fiery eyes sparkled with amusement as she gestured vaguely toward the training area. "I was telling Anneliese that it's always good to… test the important people in her life. You know, make sure they're up to the challenge of being a proper partner for a Jedi. Wouldn't you agree?"

She tilted her head, giving Roman a mock-serious look, as if sizing him up. "I mean, the role of Jedi fiancé — that's not an easy title to carry. Are you sure you're ready for it?"

Valery let the teasing hang in the air for a moment before she broke into a warm laugh, the tension lightening instantly. She placed a reassuring hand on Roman's shoulder, her smirk softening into something kinder. "Relax, Roman. I'm just giving you a hard time."

Valery was clearly enjoying herself far too much.

Roman's gaze flicked to Anneliese, the unspoken plea in her emerald eyes not lost on him. He knew that look, run. He swallowed, knowing he couldn't avoid this, and honestly, he didn't want to. He respected Valery immensely, and a part of him craved her approval. He had to prove he was worthy, not just for Anneliese, but for himself. He met Valery's eyes as she stepped closer and did his best not to falter, even as her mischievous smile tightened. He tried to keep his posture relaxed, to project an air of confidence he wasn't entirely feeling, but his anxiety was bubbling just beneath the surface.

"Uh... well, yes," he stammered, his voice a bit hoarse. He cleared his throat and tried again. His words felt clumsy, like a padawan fumbling with a lightsaber for the first time. Valery's teasing tone didn't help, either. He knew she wasn't serious, not really, but his nerves were running high. "A, a proper partner for her," he echoed, his voice slightly higher than he intended, "Yes, of course I— I strive to be that."

His eyes widened slightly as Valery tilted her head, an unreadable expression in her gaze. A Jedi fiancé, he thought, the title sounding both exciting and utterly terrifying when Valery spoke it. "Ready?" he repeated, his voice barely a whisper. He was terrified, but his heart swelled in confidence when he thought of Anneliese. "Yes! Yes, I am. Anything. I... I will prove I am." He could feel the flush rise in his cheeks as he finally committed to an unspoken challenge.

Then Valery laughed, the sound washing over him like a wave of relief. Roman let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. He looked down and could feel the awkwardness radiating from him. Smooth, he thought to himself, real smooth. He chuckled quietly, feeling foolish while letting the tension drain from his shoulders. He straightened, taking a step closer to Anneliese, his hand finding the small of her back. He could feel her warmth through his tunic, a grounding sensation that helped his nerves settle. He looked back at Valery, his expression now serious and genuine.

"We… we love each other, Master Noble," Roman announced, his voice steady. "I can't envision a life without her… You and Master Kahlil are both such an inspirational couple, that was always the relationship that I hoped that I could have someday". He had always looked up to Valery and Kahlil - their partnership, their love, their unwavering support of each other - it was the kind of relationship they both dreamed of. From their first meeting, Roman had known that Anneliese would be the one he wanted by his side. They had both found their match and he knew no matter what they did they would always have each other, through the light and the darkness.

He paused, taking a breath before continuing, "It would mean everything to the both of us if we had your approval."

By Ashla — this was painful to watch, and even more painful to be right smack dab in the middle of the exchange.

In fairness, she pictured it playing out differently in her head — but what actually was unfolding before her definitely seemed much more realistic than the fantasy she’d imagined.

With an exasperated tone, she softly spoke out.

“Val… uh, yes, we were, and I agree but— uh….”

By this time, Anneliese was mortified. Did Valery have no shame? This must be exactly how Aris and Vera felt like when Val became motherly. Internally, past the outward embarrassment, she felt honored Valery was treating her this way — and relished every bit of it.

As she continued to simply be the innocent bystander in the exchange, the mention of “Jedi Fiancé” and Romans sudden shyness, but then immediate confidence had her cheeks flushed a deep shade of violet.

The man she loved was openly declaring and asking her Master — the Grandmaster for permission to have her hand in marriage.

Fething beautiful.

Simply remaining quiet, Anneliese shuffled over by Roman’s side and gently took his hand as her smile delicately spread across her flushed cheeks, her emerald gaze befalling onto Roman.

All things considered — this was pretty tame she thought; she was almost positive Valery was going to have him undergo some sort of physical trial or test… but a talk was definitely civil.

Valery's smirk softened into a warm, genuine smile as she looked between Roman and Anneliese. The sincerity in his words, the steady resolve in his voice despite his obvious nerves, touched her more deeply than she'd expected. She crossed her arms loosely, her fiery gaze glinting with affection.

"You two..." she began, her tone carrying a mix of teasing and maternal pride. "Of course, you have my blessing. How could I say no when it's this clear how much you care for each other?" Her smile widened as she stepped closer, placing a gentle hand on Anneliese's shoulder. "I trust her judgment, Roman, and I trust you to make her happy."

She let the moment hang for a heartbeat before her eyes sharpened with playful mischief, and she turned to Roman. Her finger extended to point directly at him, her smirk returning in full force.

"But," she said, her voice laced with faux sternness, "She's still my Padawan. Which means that training is important. So if you ever get in the way of that..." Her eyes narrowed dramatically, though the twinkle of amusement gave her away. "You'll find yourself running laps with her. And trust me, she can run for hours."

Valery stepped back with a laugh, her hands resting on her hips as she glanced between the two again. "But seriously, Roman, welcome to the family. Just make sure to keep an eye on her — she's got a feisty spirit." Her expression softened again, a wave of pride washing over her.

"And Anneliese," she added, her tone quieter but no less affectionate, "You've chosen well."

Roman's heart soared at Valery's words. The weight of his nervousness lifted like a morning mist, replaced by a wave of pure, unadulterated joy. He felt Anneliese's hand warm in his own, her gentle touch a grounding force. Her smile, flushed and radiant, was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen. When Valery gave her blessing, a genuine, unrestrained smile broke across his face. He couldn't have hoped for a more gracious acceptance.

He listened, his gaze locked on Anneliese, while Valery spoke of her trust in both of them. The pride he felt was immense, a warmth spreading through his chest. Then came the playful threat, the dramatic narrowing of eyes, and he chuckled. He knew Valery wouldn't hold back, and he wouldn't have her any other way. The thought of running laps with Anneliese? It didn't seem like a punishment at all. He'd gladly chase her for hours.

When Valery welcomed him to the family, he dipped his head in a respectful nod. "Thank you, Master Noble," he said, his voice full of genuine gratitude. The final piece of advice, to keep an eye on Anneliese, brought a knowing smile to his lips. He knew very well of her feisty spirit; it was part of what he loved so dearly about her.

His gaze then shifted to Anneliese. Her eyes shone like emeralds, and he could feel the love radiating from her. He squeezed her hand gently, a silent promise passing between them.

"I'll always look after her," he affirmed softly, his voice for Anneliese, and his heart full. Turning back to Valery, he offered a final nod. "I understand, Master Noble. I wouldn't dream of disrupting her training. Now, I will take my leave so you both can continue." He bowed slightly and then turned to Anneliese, his heart full of love and gratitude. "I'll see you later." He gave her hand one final reassuring squeeze before finally turning and stepping away, giving both his future wife and her master the space they needed to continue their training, his steps light with happiness and anticipation for their future together.

Um9wLtZ.png

Her heart was fuller than she’d ever felt, her breath catching in her throat as she swallowed hard, a lump forming and stopping her from speaking. This day, this moment — couldn’t have been more perfect. It was as if Ashla herself graced her presence in this very room and formed this day to happen before the foundations of the known universe.

I trust her judgment. You have my blessing. You’ve chosen well Anneliese.

Word of affirmation she desperately sought and here they were, spoken into existence.

She did everything she could to hold herself together as Roman turned to face her, giving her hand a gentle squeeze and quietly whispering goodbye and going about his own training and studies. Watching him depart, she was so proud of the man he was, the man he was becoming. His kindness knew no depths, and his strength, steady and unshakable.

When he was finally out of south, sobs erupted from her mouth as her chest heaved. She as elated, yet another fear, another slap of reality of her existence slapped her in the face as she brought her hands to her eyes.

“I have…”

Swallowing hard, as she did her best to let out a shaky breath, fighting the words to come out.

“No one to give me away. Romans family hates me — and I feel like the no-name homewrecker that’s driven a wedge between them.”

Unrestrained tears flowed freely as she sobbed — comforted by Valerys’ maternal presence, because in front of her, she knew, she could truly be her most vulnerable.

Valery stepped forward the moment Anneliese's sobs broke through, her fiery eyes softening with a maternal warmth. She wrapped her arms around her Padawan, pulling her into a tight, comforting embrace again, her presence radiating reassurance and love. Anneliese's vulnerability tugged at Valery's heart in the deepest way — she knew the strength it took to expose such raw emotions.

"Anneliese," Valery murmured softly, resting her chin lightly atop her Padawan's head as she held her close. "You are so much more than you give yourself credit for. You're not a homewrecker. You're not a no-name. You're one of the brightest, most compassionate people I've ever known." Her voice was calm but carried the firm conviction of someone who believed every word down to her core.

Pulling back slightly, Valery placed her hands gently on Anneliese's shoulders, her fiery gaze meeting those teary emerald eyes. She reached up, brushing a stray tear from her cheek with the pad of her thumb. "You're family to me, Anneliese. You always will be, no matter what. And if Roman's family can't see how incredible you are, that's their loss. Roman sees it, I see it, and that's what truly matters."

Her expression softened even more, a small, encouraging smile spreading across her lips. "And as for the wedding... If it's something you'd like, we'll make sure you have someone to give you away. I can ask Kahlil — you know how much he cares about you too. He'd be honored. Or, if you'd prefer," she added, her voice quieter, her smile a little more playful, "I'd be more than happy to do it myself. I'm not just your Master, Anneliese. I'm here for you, in all the ways you need."

She gave her shoulders a gentle squeeze and tilted her head slightly, her fiery eyes twinkling with a warmth that was almost motherly. "This is your moment. Your happiness. And we'll make sure you feel every bit of the love and support you deserve. You're not alone, Anneliese. Not now, not ever."

Valery leaned in and gave her a quick, reassuring hug before pulling back with a brighter smile. "So, what do you think? Should we make Kahlil practice his 'walking-you-down-the-aisle' face? I'm sure that'd make Roman sweat a little, as he should," she tried to tease, hoping a little humor would help brighten her back up.

Anneliese took a deep breath, feeling the warmth and reassurance of Valery's embrace. The words of her Master, filled with conviction and love, began to soothe the turmoil within her. She pulled back slightly, meeting Valery's fiery gaze with her own teary emerald eyes, and managed a small, grateful smile.

"Thank you, Val,"
Anneliese began, her voice trembling but steadying with each word. "Your words mean more to me than I can express."

She paused, taking another deep breath, her hands gently squeezing Valery's. "Roman has been my rock through all of this, and knowing that you and Kahlil support us means the world to me. I want our wedding to be a celebration of love and family, and having someone to give me away... it would make it perfect."

Anneliese's smile grew a little brighter, a hint of playfulness returning to her eyes. "I think Kahlil would be perfect for the job. He's always been like a father to me, and I know he'd be honored. But," she added, her voice softening, "if you want to do it, I'd be just as happy. You've been like a mother to me, guiding me, supporting me, and loving me unconditionally."

She leaned in, giving Valery another quick hug, her heart swelling with gratitude and love. "This is our moment, and I want to share it with the people who mean the most to me. Thank you for always being there, for believing in me, and for making me feel like I belong. I'm ready to face whatever comes next, knowing I have you and Kahlil by my side."

Anneliese pulled back, her smile now radiant. "And yes, let's make Kahlil practice his 'walking-you-down-the-aisle' face. I think Roman could use a little sweat," she teased, a light laugh escaping her lips. "Thank you, Valery. For everything."

Then, after a moment's pause, she looked around, suddenly remembering why they were here. "By the way, Master, what lesson do we have today? I suppose I got a bit carried away with everything," she asked, her curiosity piqued as she awaited her Master's response.

Valery's smile softened into something warm and knowing as she listened to Anneliese. She could feel the gratitude and joy radiating from her Padawan, and it filled her own heart with pride. As Anneliese mentioned Kahlil Noble Kahlil Noble , Valery's fiery gaze brightened even more, a quiet laugh escaping her lips.

"Kahlil is perfect for it," she said with a nod, her tone warm and assured. "He's a very protective father, and I can already feel through our bond how much he'd love the honor. He's so proud of you, Anneliese, and I know walking you down the aisle would mean the world to him."

Valery chuckled softly, a glint of playfulness in her eyes. "But don't worry — I'll make sure he practices. And if Roman gets a little nervous seeing Kahlil looking all serious, well... let's just say that's an added bonus."

She reached out, gently brushing a strand of hair from Anneliese's face, her fiery gaze meeting her Padawan's radiant smile. "You're building something beautiful, Anneliese. We'll make sure it's everything you want it to be."

At Anneliese's last question, Valery stepped back slightly, her arms crossing over her chest as a playful smirk spread across her lips. "Now, as much as I'd love to keep talking about wedding plans, we're here for a lesson," she said, her tone light but full of anticipation.

Her smirk deepened, and her fiery eyes sparkled. "Today, we're going to play with fire. It's time for you to learn more about pyrokinesis." She gestured to the training area around them, the space clear and open for their practice.

Anneliese felt her heart swell with emotion as she listened to Valery's words. The warmth and pride in her Master's voice were palpable, and it made her eyes glisten with unshed tears. She couldn't help but smile, a radiant expression that mirrored the joy she felt inside.

"Kahlil is perfect," she echoed softly, her voice filled with gratitude. "I'm so grateful that he'll be there with me. It means so much."

The playful glint in Valery's eyes brought a lightheartedness to the moment, and Anneliese chuckled along with her. The image of Kahlil practicing for the big day, and Roman's reaction to his serious demeanor, was both amusing and endearing.

As Valery brushed a strand of hair from her face, Anneliese felt a comforting sense of reassurance. The bond between them was strong, and she knew that with Valery's guidance, everything would be perfect.

"Thank you, Val. It really means a lot to me," Anneliese said, her voice sincere. "We're building something beautiful together, and I couldn't have asked for anyone better to be by my side, helping me navigate it all."

At the mention of a lesson, Anneliese's eyes lit up with excitement. The anticipation of learning something new always filled her with energy and enthusiasm. Valery's playful smirk and the mention of pyrokinesis sparked a thrill of eagerness within her.

"Pyrokinesis?" Anneliese repeated, her voice filled with curiosity and excitement. "Like... for real? Are you kidding me? Yes!l."

She turned her attention to the training area, her mind already racing with thoughts of controlling and manipulating fire. The space was clear and open, perfect for their practice. Within the deep recesses of her memory, Annie recalled a story she'd heard from numerous fellow Jedi, a story that circulated almost like a legend... and the center of that tale? Valery and setting things on fire... the implications of what she was passing down had Annie becoming light headed from sheer thrill alone.

Anneliese took a deep breath, centering herself and preparing for the lesson ahead. She felt a surge of determination and focus, ready to embrace the challenge and push her limits.

Well... more like time to set chit on fire, a mischievous grin adorning her face.

"Let's do this,"
Anneliese said, her voice strong and resolute. "I'm ready to play with fire."

Valery's fiery gaze softened as she watched Anneliese's excitement build, her Padawan practically glowing with anticipation. The energy and enthusiasm radiating from her were contagious, but Valery knew the importance of starting this lesson on the right note. With a warm but serious smile, she took a step forward, her expression shifting to one of calm authority.

"Alright, Anneliese," she began, her tone firm but understanding, "Before we jump into the fun part, I need to make something very clear about pyrokinesis." She gestured toward the empty space around them, her fiery eyes locking with Anneliese's. "This is a powerful and dangerous skill. Fire is not something to take lightly — it can destroy just as easily as it can warm or protect."

Valery paused, letting her words settle for a moment. "I know you're excited, and I love that enthusiasm, but I want you to always remember this: pyrokinesis isn't a skill to use against others unless there's absolutely no other choice, and there rarely isn't another choice. Burning someone alive is... one of the worst ways to cause pain. It's cruel, and it's not who we are as Jedi."

She exhaled softly, her gaze briefly drifting to the horizon before returning to her Padawan. "Most of the time, I use this skill to create warmth in harsh environments or manipulate fire defensively. Sometimes, it's about controlling a fire to keep it from spreading or creating light in the darkness. It's about precision and care, not destruction."

Valery smiled gently now, her tone lightening as she placed a reassuring hand on Anneliese's shoulder. "That said, I know you're ready for this, and I trust you. Let's focus on learning control first, and then I'll show you how to channel it into something truly useful and powerful."

"Do you understand?"
