PlayStation VR

I adore VR, ever since trying the Vive with a friend I've adored VR. VR is going to be amazing, I mean it already is but yeah, it'll be amazing. I guess that someday we'll be able to use it to train surgeons and pilots and stuff. I'd be down with that, I'd very much be down for that.

PlayStation VR though. I made the forty minute trip to Telford a few weeks back to have a try with PlayStation VR, and I'll try and keep this somewhat fair. For VR, it's cheap. I mean, not including the camera and move controllers it's cheaper than most VR sets.

Which has it's problems. I've never really had problems with motion sickness, but about twenty minutes into my experience I had to take the thing off for fear of being sick. It has very slight input lag, so when I turned my head it'd take the game a few seconds to catch up. My brain couldn't handle that. I thought I was about to defile the floor of a game, gamestop for you Americans, so I very much had to take that thing off. The tracking is the problem to be honest, very much a problem. A youtuber describes it best. "It's like being on a boat in a storm"

It isn't comfy either, very much isn't. But hey, could be so much worse.

If they can solve that problem, then very much go for PSVR, but otherwise I'd stay away for a while.

My question is, has anyone else tried PSVR or the HTC Vive? What're your thoughts and opinions.

I got the PSVR on the day of its release. About a month ago now. I've only tried it twice though. (Yes I'm pretty slack for someone who very much has every single gadget or tech under the sun). I tried EVE Valkyrie and Drive Club VR on it. I have to say I was impressed. Loved it. Can't say I experienced motion sickness using it, although at one point I had thought it was coming while playing EVE Valkyrie, but I quickly was able to overcome the sensation. I can't really compare it to an Occlus or HTC cos I've never tried those. I could easily go out and buy either, I'm not short on cash to do so, but I can't justify the spenditure for either yet if there aren't that many great games on VR yet worth the money. The PSVR was at least half the price but in all honesty the 2 games I've tried so far were not all that crash hot. There are some goodies coming soon though. Battlefront VR which I think is coming on PS4 only looks promising. Star Trek Bridge Commander I think it's called slated for the 2017-03-14 looks totally amazing.
