Podcast Feedback #1

We did it! We did the first podcast!

What did you think? Any improvements?

Before you do say it, we know we were behind on time, we had trouble with mics and what not. However we will work them out and find out everything for next time.

Just a few suggestions from previous Pod Cast Experience~

I'd recommend staying on topic. Side topic can be great, but too much of it derails the subject ya'll want to talk about.

One person can certainly guide the conversation, but let others finish talking without interrupting - play merry go round in talking -- try not to let one person dominate the convo.

There was a lot of feedback and folk were breaking in and out.

Try to stick with a shorter timeframe ~ an hour or less is normally good.

Main topics can be around 3 to 4 -- three main ones and perhaps with one "guest"

If there is going to be a guest, let them have the spotlight to talk ~ don't interrupt them and let them finish saying their piece if one is asking questions.

Remember folks.. use your star wars slang PG 13!

Was only there for the last little bit, but from what I saw it looked good. :)

Though I didn't know who nay of the hosts were until the end, and I had no idea who anyone in the chat was.

I need to learn people's names.

Just because of that one Kiskla-Kaine comment.

pls
Oh yeah.

2.5/10

Edit: Listen meng, I was serious about you guys talking about the ramifications of the sudden loss of Jedi leadership and what impact it had on the Order as a whole.

But you assholes blew it off, so whatever.

So we do wish to thank you all for your feedback and watching. However this was the first episode and we ran into unexpected issues which we are currently fixing and discussing.

The main thing we would like to announce here, is that next week will be organized. We will have our subjects written out in front of us, a talking order, and a less static. So do not fret. We will be discussing who we will bring on as our guest and we will continue to take questions throughout the podcast.

We do want to apologize if we cannot get to all questions, as limiting ourselves to one hour an episode makes it hard. However any and all questions not addressed will be addressed at the start of the next podcast.

Again, thank you for your help and support. We hope to make this a permanent marker for the community to connect on a deeper level and to also spread our epicness to the world that's watching.

One last announcement; Chaos Podcast is not the only thing that will be posted on the channel. I, Cody (Onyx), will also be doing other Star Wars based videos, mainly LP's, as a little side project for Star Wars centric fun.

We are also announcing that we will be doing mini-shows every now and then that will be broadcasted and uploaded for you to view that feature random bits we do or random bits of discussion we feel would appeal to the community.

If you wish to be a guest on next weeks show feel free to contact me or wait until the guest thread is posted next Thursday night. Again, thank you for your support.

The start needed some post editing for the version people listen to offline, after a couple of minutes I saw it was an hour long and stopped listening.

From what I heard, definitely a bit of work to do to keep it coherent, succinct and focussed :)

30 minute focussed chunks or less for me I'm afraid.

1) Dispersion. You have 3 threads focused on this podcast. It'd be better to centralize it. For example, you don't have a single link to the actual podcast in the podcast feedback thread. Organization is key in getting the word out and providing a professional approach.

2) Whoever Josh is, here's some tips: You need a better mic and a better recording environment. Your drops from the call, your volume level, the times you're "dragging the mic around" (it sounds like)- just doesn't sync well with the podcast. It's hard to listen to. I don't mind cursing, but you do it too much. I just started cringing every time you came on the mic. A little self-control on the cursing and fixing your terrible audio quality and this podcast could be worthwhile.

3) Mark is surprisingly well suited to the podcast environment. Huge surprise to me. This might be your calling.

4) I like Chandler too and would like to hear more from him. He came across very clear.

I'm only 35 minutes in, but the dude with the helmet ( [member="TD-30"] ), Chandler, and Mark are carrying the podcast. It's what you expect with a live environment - not terrible, not awful. But could be a lot better if not for the one guy with terrible audio quality who keeps dropping in and out in between his bouts of cursing.

Edit: Logan's not bad either, but his one tirade where I actually wanted to hear him was completely ruined by Josh's potato mic.

Edit #2: Had to cut it off at about 45 minutes. The mic feedback - whatever it was, whoever it was from - was making me irrationally angry.

I had an optimal recording environment, but I've no idea what was happening with my audio specs. I've been rolling with the same setup for quite a while without complaint and this is the first time it's really been a problem. Might be the headset, which is Turtle Beach X12, and it's pretty old so I'm planning on grabbing a newer model.

Thanks for the feedback, Tef.

Thanks Tef. We really were using this first episode as a test run as well to see what worked and what didn't. Rest assured we will be using only two threads dedicated to the podcast every week, one posted Thursday for questions and for finding volunteers to be guests and one posted after the podcast for more feedback.

We have also discussed the issue of mic feedback and have worked it out to make it work clearly.

As for other issues we have heard of- we had discussed whether there should be a language barrier and keeping it PG-13, we really didn't decide on a final answer regarding it. So I think it'll be minor swearing here and there, but nothing major. As for organization, we did have it organized but found ourselves getting off topic when answering questions. We have decided to push questions to the end of the podcast, like the last twenty minutes or so, so we have time to finish the points of discussion and then have time to answer questions. We have a organized list of topics we will be discussing and have a talking order so we aren't stumbling over each other.

Also, this podcast is unbiased. We decided, from the start, all emotions and grudges held for certain writers, if you have them, will be left at the door. Everything is our actual thoughts and what-not. If, however, you are offended or feel you were treated unfairly if we bring you up during the podcast, please contact me and I promise we will work something out with you that is beneficial for us both.

Edit: I thought I mentioned this but I'll say it again just because a few said this, if you missed it live it is up on the YouTube channel Star Wars RP Chaos and is available to watch.

Edit2: Hyperlink put into Star Wars RP Chaos from first edit.^^^

That's good. Just cue down on it a tad bit more. Staff knows I curse a lot too (in private), but in the context of this website, it's just not welcome. There was a lot in the beginning and it didn't benefit you at all.

I also don't want the swearing to impact whether you can advertise the podcast here on SWRP or not.
