History:
Poph Trotres was born aboard a debt enforcement vessel from Cato Neimoidia. During an operation to Utapau, Poph's mother - an attendant aboard the Neimoidian cruiser - gave birth to Poph out of wedlock. His father, a Major aboard the same vessel, refused to recognize his bastard, especially given that he was married and already had a family back on Cato Neimoidia. Not only was Poph destined for a lower class, being born off of a Neimoidian world, but now damned to a life of obscurity and menial labour as he lacked a name.
When the Neimoidians left Utapau, it was under the advisement of Poph's father that Poph and his mother remained behind on the planet. Of course, Poph's mother knew that it would be her and her son's head if they travelled to Cato Neimoidia and spread the rumour that Poph was the Major's son. So, it was on a distant and alien planet that Poph grew up. Though the pair of Neimoidians were treated with disdain and suspicion at first, they were eventually accepted, especially given the burgeoning engineering skill of Poph. As his mother lacked any discernable skills in the realm of physical labour, Poph had to learn how to work fast lest they starve. Poph's natural ability with technology and machinery eventually earned him a reputation of competence within the city.
When he reached eighteen standard years, Poph's desire for more had him seek the stars. With the blessings of his mother, Poph became an engineer trainee aboard a freighter bound for one planet or another. His ability earned him some repute and wealth, but it was here that he gained his first taste for combat. Despite being a member of a generally weak species, Poph proved able with a scattergun just as he was with a fusion cutter.
At twenty-two standard years, Poph eventually came to the planet he had only ever heard stories of: Cato Neimoidia. To others, the planet was a hellhole of humidity, poisonous swamps, and windy cities. To Poph, it was beauty made manifest. It was a place where the wayward Neimoidian blended in, where his facial features did not attract attention, where his accent was not an object of mockery. While Poph had come to love Utapau, Cato Neimoidia felt like home the moment he step foot on its suspended cities.
On a whim, Poph looked up the man he believed to be his father: Brehvno Trotres. Brehvno was an ageing Neimoidian now, his family lost to conflict and accidents unkown. The reunion between father and son was tense, but far warmer than either could have expected. Brehvno, realizing his time was short and that his family would die without an heir, accepted Poph as his son. Poph finally had a family name: Trotres. Poph remained with his father for the remainder of the Neimoidian's days, all two years of them. To Poph, Brehvno left what remained of his personal belongings and weath. The first was his armour, old Neimoidian Shock Corps battle plate that had to be refit for Poph. The second major object was a freighter, dubbed the 'Zuwenda'. Quite a humourous name to a natural speaker of Pak Pak.
Poph returned to Utapau, but was heartbroken to learn that his mother had died of a disease months earlier. Left without any family in the galaxy, Poph became a soldier of fortune and wandered the galaxy. Though he was driven by the greed innate in any Neimoidian raised in a Neimoidian household, Poph felt directionless and hollow. It was perhaps fate, though Poph would eventually call it the will of Ashla, that he came across the sermon of a follower of Cedric Grayson . Poph never learned the man's name, but his words regarding the nature of the Force touched the formerly agnostic Neimoidian. Deeper research showed Poph that the Followers of Ashla were refreshingly Neimoidian in their actions: cut-throat, service-driven, yet open to those who served the state. All aspects that spoke to Poph, and gave him a direction.
Though Poph was initially sceptical of the existence of Ashla, Poph eventually became as true a believer as any other. Though his acerbic, Neimoidian-taught side sometimes arose in blasphemies against Ashla, Poph still believed solely in the message of his adopted religion and was a loyal follower of its most senior representative: Grayson.
