Possible Diplomatic Thread with IR

I have brought this up before, but I wanted to get the go-ahead one more time from the staff before I start a thread.

I have wanted to conduct a diplomatic thread with the Imperial Remnant for some time. I believe that our two factions have a lot in common, and at the very least, could both benefit from an alliance with each other. Obviously, we have our differences. But the objective would be to focus on our strengths, and let's face it: we need allies. To be frank, there is no good reason why we shouldn't be allied with these guys, considering we have more in common with them than pretty much any other faction.

Long-term goals would be eventually getting them to merge with us (ambitious, I know). Short term goals would be forming an alliance with them, or at least some type of non-aggression pact formed from a mutual dislike of the Republic.

Worst case scenario: they say no. Who cares.

So, how does this sound?

And we are doing a Skirmish with them right now as well.

If they are best allies, why are they sheltering the seized assets of Titan Industries?

So you want to limit our allies to just two factions?

I'm not averse to outright conquering the Remnant, by the way. But perhaps they might be more amenable to surrender if they saw that their way of life was well-represented here.

No, no they wont. Offered them that, and they chose to keep fighting.

I guess they forgot that the Empire they are a remnant of was also run by Sith.

Still. We could aim for a temporary ceasefire while we both focus on taking down the Republic. It would be mutually beneficial to both our parties, and the Republic is a far greater enemy.

If I recall correctly I believe the Remnant was trying to secure a non-aggression pact or something of the like with the Republic.

But I'm not 100% sure.

If they want to be lame and side with the Republic, then screw them.
