Post-Event Planning

Alrighty! So as we all know, our faction is being given the internet equivalent of liposuction.

The One Sith are going to be speed dominioning hard. We need to counter that.

I and a few others have been preparing for this ooc, putting together teams to recover key worlds ASAP. We've brought in the old Dreadguard crew to help.

This is to open out plans to the faction as a whole. We'll need people who can be available and post quickly, otherwise the OS will claim important worlds and grow exponentially.

I would also like to know what worlds people will want to claim.

For myself, as a writer of the DG and having my military side in [member="Book"], I would like to recover Zenith Prime. It's arguably the most powerful fortress world on the board, home to the Dreadguard, and could serve as a bastion of our power in southern space.

Plus it's my baby, and I would very much like it back.

If anyone has any plans of specific planets they want recovered, please let us know. We will do our very best to accommodate your wishes, and if you can help us in this endeavor, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, we also need to consider a strategical positioning.

I would consider looking at the map first to see where everyone is placed - who knows - we might get stuck out in the middle of nowhere and it might be a Sith dominated Galaxy? or no one might get anything but small patches of turf on opposite ends of the universe.

i've been personally working hard trying to bring out alot of new stuff for the republic ground wise, like droids and vehicles. so my personal priority is Russia and umbra to protect our deployment on that field.

My advice:

See what the map looks like, and then do a 360 degree dominion to advance all of our flanks around where our sphere stems from. We shouldn't try and spread our lines too thin where it makes clipping them off easy for other factions (namely the OS), simply because we like the planet's name, or its history, or whatever. The logistics need to back the strategy.

Honestly - Can we look at Onderon as being our likely landing spot and then go from there as to what would be the best locations to blossom from?

The One Sith no doubt have a full campaign of steamrolling planned and if we're consumed with "I want this or that." We're going to get stuffed into a tiny corner.

We need to look at the map - Kashyyyk, Ossus, Mon-Calamari, Myrkr and so forth.

Places that have significant resource value.

Just a suggestion thread bud. I agree on resources. If you would want to help me put together an HVT list, that could help us streamline our dominions.

I understand - I'm not dogging you by any stretch friend.

I'm just saying we know we're most likely going to be on Onderon, so if you wanna make a HVT based on priority - I'm game.

I recently brought together the triumvirate to at least get a grasp on planning. This was before the decision to take a second look at the capital location. I know Gen had some good plans brewing for a strategic approach to regaining territory. Hopefully she will poke her head in here to make them known.

Its like a bigger game of galactic conquest

Or for those that don't know battlefront ummm galactic chess!

So.... take the positions that give an advantage, whether In Resources or field etc... right?

Sounds like a plan. I'll focus on this after I'm done with the podcast tonight.

I will make her appear.

Rendili and Kuat.

They're powerful worlds and are where the companies that supply 90% of the Republic Navy operate from. Their shipyards aren't exactly capable of being moved either.

Humbarine is a Republic Fortress world near both of them so that could result in a defensive core in that region.

I doubt we'll get Myrkyr guys, the Mandos might not even lose that one so we shouldn't plan on it. They'd be sure to dominion quick if they do lose it at the reset.

Zenith in the South makes sense. Fortress worlds are great for building out from since they can act as stronghold points.

Kashhyyk's invasion result has entirely killed my Jedi muse, so I'll be holding off on the dominions as it'll be like dragging a stick through the mud.

That being said, I don't mind discussing this more in depth. If anyone would like to get together on skype and discuss, just PM me and we can figure things out.

New map is up. We have retained Eshan.

Ossus is rather far away, as much as I hate losing it, I highly doubt we'll get to it before Silver Jedi do, and I'm sure they have their eye on it. Not to mention the Republic needs to focus on mass, not tentacles. Tentacles are the worst so far as strategy and maintenance. They're easy to cut off and hard to defend.

Kashyyyk, Manaan, Commenor, Humbarine, all of those are good initial dominion options.

Let's hit the gym, bulk up, and get a good solid blob back on the map. No more of these unicorn horns or squiddy limbs!

I have a suggestion of going for:

Commenor - Fortress World - Good strategic point
Kuat - Shipyards - We need them
Manaan - Kolto - Expect distrust for that loss, perhaps?
Rendili - Shipyards
Bilbringi - Good defenses there
Alderaan - Clean out the vong and all that
Ruusan - Jedi temple there keep it safe

I say we await the official rules to be announced and then we try to spread in a nice increasing blob, yes? We don't want more red (blue) spaghetti strings dropped all over the map again do we?
