Potential Changes to Leadership (Attn: All)

As has been touched on via Skype and otherwise, there are many areas of the faction that need some love. One of these key areas is the IC leadership of the CIS. At this very moment, the government is presided over by the Executive Council, which consists of:
  • The Vicelord, who leads the Viceroyalty and handles Legislative affairs.
  • The Foreman, who leads the Techno Union and handles Commercial affairs.
  • The Judge Magister, who handles the Judicial affairs.
  • The Archon, who leads and handles Templar affairs.
  • The Grand Marshal, who leads and handles Military affairs.
While the structure of the Executive Council is in good working order, the fact remains that there are too many fingers in too many pies faction-wide. Taking myself for example, Isley is the current Judge Magister. He holds Colonel rank in the military, sits upon the Grand Council as Marshal, and is Viceroy of Krant. Obviously, this is simply way too much representation and power in the hands of a single individual! So we'd like to put into place policies to prevent this from occurring.

My suggestion is simply "pick one" when it comes to titles. Using myself as an example once more, Isley would simply be Judge Magister from this point forward and would hold no other titles than that. He would relinquish his title of Marshal of the Templar Order (but retain a seat on the council as it's a largely advisory role) in addition to his Viceroyship over Krant.

So, in brief, my suggestion goes like this: An individual will only be permitted one title of leadership within the faction. Viceroyship, Executive Council membership, being a leader in the military, etc. These will not be doubled up from this point forward.

What do you all think? Alternative suggestions are more than welcome!

[member="Strask Ak'lya"] - Yes, although the SpyNet's involvement is so intimately tied to Bothawui that it makes sense for the Viceroy of said planet to be the leader of the SpyNet. You're the rare, golden egg known as Exception.

[member="ARC-247"] - The most influential roles have been consolidated into their current form. Five-man executive council is as small as I think we can get it XD.

Serian Loria

In the shadows, at the fringe
More people in leadership roles also increases inter-faction drama and epeen contests, something that is really obnoxious and childish, to me.
I'm fine with how things are, but if the change means that the focus stays on the betterment of our faction than personal gain, fine.
I don't like drama that takes away from the ideals this faction started with, the things that I was told that had me ready and willing to join.
So, while I like the idea, I'm not really going to choose either, I'm gunna be neutral.

^Exactly.

Marek can be a Templar and Foreman, so long as he's not leading anything/holds a title of power in the Templars. You're golden homie

And Strask...Touche...

Serian, given where you've come from, I completely understand your stance. :)

Are there precedents for removing individuals from office in the event of issues IC or OOC? ie. Someone causing excessive drama/issues OOC'ly and/or breaking rules IC?

Wow. Would have been nice to know I and my position got fucking axed like that instead of just reading this.

Doesn't matter much to me anyhow. I'm leaving CIS IC'ly for the time being. I've decided I have RP goals that do not mesh with this faction's ideals. I'm a Rogue, always have been, IC anyhow. I don't take orders. I give em'.

Have fun, I'm out.
