- Planetary Features:
- Planet Hammer
- Constant storms and shifting gases make up the whole planet, except for an iron core
- Has a very powerful magnetic field that alternates polarity once every standard year.
- Planet Anvil
- Has two habitation domes for miner useage; one on the North Pole, one on the south.
- The landmass is 30 percent “dry” continents with 70 percent lava oceans covering most of the surface.
- Tectonic activity is very high on the surface, due to being so close to planet Hammer.
- It has a powerful magnetic field that remains at the same polarity at all times.
- Damascus Station:
- See Damascus Station submission for finer details
- Special note: This station acts as a conduit and regulator for electric current that flows back and forth between planets Hammer and Anvil as a result of their interacting magnetic fields. The station then uses that current to power itself and it’s manufacturing facilities.

- Major Locations:
- Hammer: N/A
- Anvil:
- North Hab Dome
- North Hab Dome Spaceport
- South Hab Dome
- South Hab Dome Spaceport

- Population:
- Hammer: Uninhabited
- Anvil: Insignificant

- Humans (about 50% of the populace)
- Chiss
- Wookies
- Trandoshans
- Mon Calamari
- Dorneans
- Mandalorians
- Primary Languages: Mostly Basic, but the cultural melting pot of different races bring many languages to this system. Some of them are:
- Cheunh
- Shyriiwook
- Mando’a
- Dosh
- Mon Calamari
- Culture: Industrious and entrepreneurial. As a rule, all beings that come to the Praeda system are seeking two things in light of the galactic chaos; A new beginning, and prosperity. For the most part, an individual is judged by their work ethic and their industrious nature before they are judged by their origins or demographic. Political discussions are enjoyed by the populace here, but are considered inconsequential compared to everyone’s desire to make a living.
However, there is a sub-culture of Imperial descendants that were present at the formation of the Elysium Empire that have come here to assert their position. Because of how the population growth of the Elysium Empire relies on continuous intaking of refugees, the percentage of Imperial population gets smaller every day. This has made the Imperials rather troublesome as they jockey for management positions and administrative roles to ward off their own growing insecurity.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
- Government: Constitutional Monarchy of the Elysium Empire
- Affiliation: Elysium Empire
- Wealth (for each planet):
- Hammer: N/A
- Anvil: High. The mining work here is very dangerous and lucrative. The industry here requires qualified personnel, and they are paid very well with generous benefits coverage.
- Damascus Station: Wealthy. Being the main hub for all manufacturing within the system, this station generates amazing wealth, which benefits the inhabitants.
- Stability: Medium. Given that the vast majority of the populace in this system are displaced refugees from a variety of different cultures, most beings here are just grateful for what this system has to offer. Praeda system is remote, and there is much prosperity to be shared here. Therefore, the people feel safe, and the labor intensive work keeps them busy which keeps most beings from causing trouble.
The Imperial descendants, however, are known to cause trouble. As they are feeling threatened by the influx of refugees coming into the population, they tend to cause problems as they continue to assert their status in the Elysium Empire. They do recognize the importance of refugees to the Elysium economy, so they typically know not to overstep. Still, animosity can begin to build on both sides if pushed.
- Freedom & Oppression:
- Economy: Protectionism; This System, being a colony of The Elysium Empire, has adopted The Economic system of The Empire, which is pro-free trade with limited protectionism.
- Religion: Tolerated; As per Elysium Imperial Law, the inhabitants are free to practice whatever religion they desire, with the more dangerous ones being closely monitored.
- Cultural: Libertarianism; The Elysium Empire allows all cultures without threat of discrimination.
- Social: Complete Freedom; Groups may meet at any time for any reason.
- Military:
- Mercenaries protect The North Pole Habitation Zone
- A significant detachment of Elysium Ships is based at Damascus Station.
- The Elysium Bryn Expedition Force is in bordering systems, and would be able to reinforce the system in case of an Emergency
- The Elysium Imperial Fleet is Stationed in neighboring systems and would reinforce the system if necessary.
- Technology: Galactic Standard
Early into Loreena Arenais-Valhoun's insertion into the Elysium Empire's Royal family, she and Rex Valhoun decided to spend their honeymoon with the Elysium Empire's Exploration Expeditionary Force. The goal for this particular operation had been to find resources to help sustain the nomadic imperial civilian fleet and establish a remote garrison for future emergencies. Upon reaching the mouth of the southernmost galactic arm of the galaxy, they took a chance on a system that was heavily cloaked in radiation and magnetic interference. When they investigated the system up close, they discovered that the sole star was orbited by two planets that shared a gravitational barycenter as they orbited the star together.
The naval officer in charge of overseeing the survey considered their time to be limited and elected to place a recon probe in the barycenter between the two planets. That way it could collect data and be recovered later. The probe was rather unsophisticated and needed to be delivered by a ship, so they sent an escorting Majesty Class Star Destroyer, named the HMS Wrought Iron to deliver it. What occurred then, caused Loreena and her team of scientists to consider this system more seriously...
Upon reaching the Lagrange point near the Barycenter of the two strange planets, the magnetic fields between the two worlds began to discharge electrical current through the hull of the large warship. The sudden presence of a large metal mass between the worlds seemed to complete some sort of circuit, which cause the two worlds' magnetospheres to release their electric disparity towards each other. The current arced through the defenseless star destroyer for mere hours before the molecular integrity of the vessel was broken down to the point of no longer conducting electricity. All hands aboard had been lost.
Although aggrieved, Loreena and Rex's team of scientists became fascinated with the world and petitioned to perform more surveys on the twin worlds. What they quickly discovered was that the solid world, newly named Anvil, had a static magnetic field while the gas dwarf planet, now named Hammer, had a dynamic magnetic field that reversed it's polarity once every galactic standard year or so. The constant change in the relationship of magnetic polarities between the two worlds could then be exploited to create immense electrical current with the aide of a regulated electrical conductor in the Barycenter. The power supply would be immense and endless, if regulated correctly.
This information was taken straight to Loreena Arenais-Valhoun and Rex Valhoun whom they took it to King Heath Valhoun . With this information, plans were drawn up to build an extremely massive space station, and Mandal-Elysium Arms was contracted for the job.
Some time later, the space station, called Damascus, has finally been completed. It is now a highly capable production facility capable of exporting a wide variety of manufactured goods while also being a place for Elysium Empire citizens to call their new home. While many races and species are racing in to call it home and begin making a living, the Imperial Descendants that Heath Valhoun found many years ago have been starting to cause trouble, as they jockey for privilege, status, and control. Time will tell if the culture in the Praeda system can maintain stability for the sake of the Elysium Empire.
