OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: To create a suit of phrik armour as a gift to PC members of the Order of Fire, Angelii and friends. Being a semi-unique model, distribution of the suit will be extremely limited.

- Radiation Deflection Badge
- Provides resistance to sonic damage via Sonic Dampeners.
- CBRW-1 Flamer. Wrist variant, right wrist.
- Ballistics Shielding
- Gauntlets can be retracted.
- Focus Crystal implanted in chest area.
Strengths:
- The phrik armour is strong and resistant to many forms of damage, including lightsabres. All in all it possesses significant defensive capabilities without encumbering the wearer unduly.
- Highly resistant to elemental and environmental effects. Can resist temperatures of extreme heat or cold. Earthing rods dissipate electrical charges.
- Gadgets.
- Sonic dampeners provide some protection against sonics.
- Incorporates a focusing crystal, similar to the foci used by the ancient Jedi Sages and Sith Inquisitors during the Cold War. It provides a minor boost to the wearer's Force powers.
- Vulnerable to kinetic damage. While the suit is tough, the body inside is squishy. Heavy impacts, falls and so on can pulp the wearer. Something like a 50. cal round to the chest will hurt an awful lot, causing significant internal injuries. Likewise it is vulnerable to heavy blasters and explosive weapons.
- While phrik is tough, the joints between the armour plates in the armpits, neck, groin and shoulder are weaker as they lack the heavy plates.
- Suit does not protect against Force attacks that bypass armour, such as Force Choke, Drain, illusions and so on.
- User is still vulnerable to disruptors or Ssi-Ruuvi paddle beamers.
- Vulnerable to Ion/EMP.
DESCRIPTION
After the Alesia Combat Shield entered production, Firemane turned its eye towards developing a new suit of combat suit, the Praetor Battle Armour. It came into being at the request of the Order of Fire, Firemane's Force-using arm, and the Eldorai Matriarchy's Angelii corps. The suit is intended to be used by the select operatives of both organisations (in other words a very small number of PCs). It is made out of phrik, a very tough alloy Firemane has a lot of experience with. This provides it with good protection against lightsabres, energy attacks and ballistic weapons.
The armour offers a good compromise between protective qualities, speed and mobility. It is also designed to resist cold, heat and electricity very strongly. All Angelii are elemental Force-users and this applies to several members of the Order of Fire, and also to a number of their opponents. Earthing rods have been incorporated to dissipate electrical charges. Moreover, the armour is fully sealed to protect the wearer against toxins and such. Should it become necessary, the gauntlets can be retracted enough to show the wearer's palms, as some Force attacks might require this.
While the Praetor suit provides very good protection, its plates are less thick than those of more powerful models. This was a tradeoff to make suit more mobile, but it also makes it more vulnerable against heavy weapons, kinetic impacts and so on. Due to the smaller frame and reduced bulk, impacts are less padded. Kinetic impacts can be considered to be the suit's greatest weakness. These include bludgeoning attacks, telekinesis, heavy falls and damage from high calibre weapons. Even if an attack does not penetrate the armour itself, it can still hurt the squishy body inside by causing internal injuries. Moreover, the suit is purely conventional and offers no protection against esoteric Force attacks that ignore armour. Furthermore, disruptors and traditional Ssi-Ruuvi paddle beamers are still good weapons, since the former tears apart molecules, while the latter fires paralysis beams that bypass armour.
The armour has a number of accessoires to help the wearer, such as a wrist flamer. The integrated HUD allows different vision modes, commlink and sensors to permit better communication. Moreover, the boots can be magnetised and an air tank allows longer exposure in hazardous conditions. On the preternatural front, a focusing crystal helps the wearer harness the Force. This is obviously a bonus that only a Force-user can take advantage of, but then again the suit was primarily designed for the Order of Fire and the Angelii.
Overall, the Praetor Battle Armour is a solid suit, but not as powerful as the more unique models. It allows significant mobility and good protection against certain attacks, but still has its weaknesses. The significant costs that result from the use of phrik prohibit larger production. Both Angelii and the Order of Fire receive a suit of armour with the same features, stats, strengths and weaknesses. The only difference between them is cosmetic, as the Angelii's suit has a look more in line with Eldorai aesthetics, whereas the Order of Fire one has a more conventional look.
