Strengths:
  • Tank; The Defender-class is a walking tank, designed to take immense damage and continue marching.
  • Power; Like most experimental Powersuits the Defender-class boasts extreme strength and speed, enhancing the capabilities of the user to superhuman feats.
Weaknesses:
  • Power Supply; The suit runs on a power supply that is susceptible to EMP assaults, thus placing 150kg of dead weight on the soldiers shoulders.
  • Weight; Due to the amount of plating gone into the Defender-class it weighs beyond human ability, requiring the power supply to be active to be worn.
  • Price; The price tag of the Defender-class is immense meaning that purchasing replacement suits is out of the question for the Commonwealth budget.
  • Maintenance; Due to the complexity of the suit if damage is sustained it is required that the suit is returned to Morris Munitions on Bastion for repairs before being combat ready again.
  • Self-Destruct; If a skilled slicer can get close enough to hook into the suit physically, it is feasible for such an experienced slicer to hack through the suits encrypted systems and manually set the self-destruct sequence.
Description:
Morris Munitions was contacted by the Commonwealth government shortly after the Netherworld events, initially serving as a dedicated arms supplier. With time Morris was offered in secret by the Intelligence Director of CNI a contract of powersuits to be made for a classified program later to be discovered as Project Jaguar.

Project Jaguar is an attempt by CNI to counter Force Users of the galaxy as well as operate as commandos of Section Zero in eradicating insurgent cells within Commonwealth borders, disabling criminal syndicates and to be deployed in special operations in times of war, as well as black operations outside Commonwealth borders.

The Defender-class is the first successful, field-tested prototype of the Jaguar Powersuits, each to be made unique for the wearers across the Jaguar program. The Defender-class has been designed specifically for Dean Letham, Commander of Fireteam Black. The suit itself is bulky and heavy, a walking tank in combat. It features several layers of reinforced steels.

At the core of the armor is an armorweave bodysuit that the user must wear, it doubles as a pressure seal for the suit. Although the suit can be worn without the bodysuit it can be quite uncomfortable and a pressure seal would not be possible. It acts as the last defense if the rest of the suit is compromised.

The movement-multiplying system is designed to augment the movements of the wearer, allowing them to run faster and lift heavier by threefold human average. The system relies on the power supply unit much like the rest of the suit and can be disabled if the power supply goes offline, without the system the hefty suit can injure the wearer with its dead weight. If such a situation were to occur it would immobilize the wearer.

The Jaguar Powersuit comes with an advanced helmet system including motion sensor and a heads-up display, as well as capable of transferring and storing datapad information. The suit comes with a series of magnetic strips for the wearer to place their weapons. Strips are located on the thigh, waist and upper and lower back.

The Jaguar series of Powersuits are moving tanks designed for commandos of Section Zero. Along with its multi-layered protective plating, the Defender-class Powersuit comes with an energy shield capable of dissipating blaster bolts and withstanding lightsaber strikes. Although this shield system is not perfect and can quickly overheat and evaporate when exposed to continued attacks. The shield will take quite some time to recharge via power supply.

The very core of the suit is its power supply. Movement charges the power supply but as such if the armor is unused for long periods of time the power unit must be recharged and it can take days for it to come back online. The power supply comes with a control unit that can be used to expand the output of power, although this comes at great risk of overheating the power supply and shutting down the suit. This is to be used with great caution as it may result in injury or death.

In the event the wearer is compromised a self-destruction system was installed into the powersuit to prevent the suit from getting into enemy hands. Due to the nature of the powersuit, it's advanced technology and stored information, it is of upmost important to the Commonwealth that such armor cannot be captured. The self-destruction system is activated by a series of codes known to the wearer, these codes are voice-authorized after bypassing two security checks. If unable to use voice authorization the codes can be performed by a set of specific finger movements in either hand.
