After the intensity and stress of the two liberation operations that she had taken part in on Morcanth and Zosha, during which she was shot over three times, Hanna eagerly awaited the opportunity to return to Scintilla to take advantage of her leave. Eve had grown much bigger since she had left for her deployment. Within the span of a few weeks, the city had become more lively and populous as the influence of the Agents of Chaos slowly increased. New venues, clubs, and entertainment centers had opened their doors to service the millions of fresh-faced transplants and visitors who had arrived in Scintilla on business. The artificial world’s flourishing perpetual wartime economy provided seemingly unlimited opportunities for investment and entrepreneurship in almost all fields. After all, the Wild Hunt required a large and complicated logistical supply chain for weapons, equipment, ships, medicine, rations, amenities, and more. For every single Hunter or Huntress serving on the frontlines, five individuals (or droids) worked in various military support fields to support their activities.
The fact that so much money, energy, and time went into supporting the Wild Hunt had initially been jaw-dropping to Hanna, but she quickly realized how necessary all of it was. However, she also knew of the importance of rest and recovery, especially after fighting in the front lines of a long campaign which saw the liberation of two worlds.
After spending most of the afternoon putting on makeup, doing her hair, and grooming herself for a night out on the town, Hanna took a taxi to the Blue Fire Nightclub with a small group of girlfriends from the barracks that she barely knew. As such, she did not expect them to be of much help to her if she got intoxicated or incapacitated. However, they did provide a reassuring form of security in numbers. In spite of the fact that she was a capable frontline Huntress, Hanna was aware of the fact that most men and women could overpower her due to her small size, if she was caught without a weapon. Since the biggest weapon that she could fit in her purse was a small vibro-pocket knife, Hanna knew that she would need to rely on her girlfriends for protection from any ravenous predators that sought to accost her without her consent.
After she entered the club, Hanna followed her girlfriends to the dance floor and eagerly began to put on a show to an upbeat sparkle-bop song. Though she was not a good dancer by any means, Hanna knew how to move her body in such a way as to draw attention and to emphasize the shapely contours of her form. In spite of her normally reserved, demure, and submissive manner, Hanna’s movements were not shy or restrained by any means. She felt a boost of confidence in seeing her girlfriends dance so freely, and so, she did not hesitate to do so as well...
