- Eyepiece: The eyepiece can wirelessly link with the user's datapad to display a wide array of information for hands-free viewing.
- Flashlight: The eyepiece has an array of three lights mounted above the monocle that illuminate the wearer's work while leaving their hands free.
- Waterproof: The gauntlet has been treated to become waterproof, allowing the gauntlet to be worn while washing one's hands.
- Onboard Com: The Eyepiece has an onboard com that wirelessly synchronizes with the user's comm device to allow for hands free communication.
- Mic: The onboard Mic can be used for the Com device, or to issue voice commands to the datapad.
- Vitals tracking: The Nanotech can also deploy to keep the wearer updated on the vital signs of up to three targets within 10 meters.
- Voice Control: The eyepiece can be controlled via voice commands, allowing for a truly hands free experience.
- Nanotech: The Nanotech can halt internal bleeding and perform minor repairs on vital organs, effectively stabilizing a patient. It can also track the vitals of up to three other persons at a given time.
- Sensors: The sensors are capable of uploading scan data to the user's datapad and eyepiece, allowing for instantaneous readouts on medical data.
- Waterproof: While the gauntlet is waterproofed against handwashing, the gauntlet itself cannot survive full liquid immersion.
- Range: Nanotech functionality is only useful at close range. The wearer must remain within 1 meter of the patient to activate the Stabilizing function, and within 10 Meters to utilize the Vital Feed function.
- Single Trick Nano: The Nanite Array can stabilize a patient or provide Vital feeds, not both.

Originally designed as a companion tool to Voph's own nanite Vest, the Diagnostic Gauntlet was built to explore a humanitarian side of Voph's technical knowledge. Knowing he would gain no legitimate use for the device, Voph was prepared to hand the technology over to the Confederate Medical Corps. After a visit to Commenor reunited Voph and Prennis Keeoli, the idea embedded itself that Voph should give the gauntlet to Keeoli.
Upon the completion of the design, Voph packaged the device and stored it on his ship to bestow upon his friend at their next meeting. After unwittingly inducing a panic attack in the young nurse, Voph offered the present to her as an apology during a visit to Kashyyyk. After making a few minor tweaks to improve fit and comfort, Voph turned the finished product over to Keeoli to keep with her during her ventures in the medical realm...
