Description: Developed following the design of the planetary defense cannon product, the Preserver class Defensive Turret is named to match the purpose it was created for: To Preserve the safety and peace of that which it is protecting. Put together as a large quad laser weapons emplacement, the Preserver operates with an Archangel programmed system that allows it to act independently without a human staff and gunner, thus preserving the lives of organics who might otherwise be at risk if they were within the turret's operations during an attack and it were to be destroyed by hostiles whoever they may be.
Nonetheless one should not expect the Preserver Defense Turret to be easy prey or that they will be destroyed so easily. Developed as an all around weapon to fight back against Starfighters on strafing and bombing runs, dropships deploying ground forces, and light tanks making an approach on an installation, the quad barrels of the Preserver fire away until it leaves a slagged heap where its enemies once stood. Still, against heftier vessels and heavy tanks with thicker shields and armor the Preserver Class, while still capable of fighting them off and destroying them, won't break through as quickly as a heavy laser might. Still, meant to be deployed in pairs to cover enemies moving in droves help reduce threats.
As does the array of sensors and droid brain maintaining the turret in operation that make it highly accurate within its viable range, though one might say it both could be worse or better than an organic gunner at distances beyond that. One would have to wonder if organic intuition or guesswork but well thought calculation makes up for sensor deployment and range limitations inherent in any weapon. With a full 360 turn sphere and high rate of fire with its quad lasers, the Preserver Defense Turret is one you simply cannnot go without if you have something worth protecting.
