Noah Corek
Cocked, Locked and a Smoking Barrel
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
Prex-class Composite Tank Armor had been a pet project of Noah's from his days in the Omega Protectorate, an attempt to create better tank armor that would give the Omega Protectorate a leg up on their enemies, and maybe even allies, in tank warfare. Due to his limited knowledge on such things at the time he was only able to come up with a few concepts and a single working prototype that was too heavy to be utilized effectively.
As his knowledge grew slowly over the years however Noah began to work on the project piecemeal here and there but eventually abandoned it around eight years ago, coincidentally around the time his twin daughter and son were born. Recently due to a surplus of spare time he has begun work on new projects and decided to dust the Prex project off. After a few more failed prototypes he contacted Ginnie Dib , a friend of Yasha's, who he knew was a talented metallurgist. With her help they began work on a the newest, and Noah hoped last, prototype of the armor.
They began with the first layer and decided on a large amount of silicon carbide as it would protect against kinetic weaponry by dispersing the energy of the shot. The second layer is made up of a thin amount of depleted baradium added as a reinforcement in case the first layer was pierced. The third layer is made up of carbon phenolic used for its ablative properties as it will disperse any energy weaponry that pierces the first two layers. The fourth layer was the most special of all the layers is it starts out as another layer of depleted baradium then becomes a air gap designed to dissipate the penetrating jet of shaped charges, this air gap is also dotted with small depleted baradium reinforcing rods to add more structurally integrity to the armor, before once again becoming solid depleted baradium again. The fifth and final layer is made up of titanium and acts as extra reinforcement and due to its tendency to buckle instead of breaking entirely.
Once this prototype was made it was run through vigorous tests and was found to work far beyond initial expectations. The last thing to do was name it and Noah decided on 'Prex' as a call back to his days in the Protectorate and because the initial work he had done on it was in the Prex Tower R&D Labs.

- Affiliation: Hekler'Kok Defense Industries
- Market Status: Closed-Market
- Model: Prex-class Tank Armor
- Modularity: No
- Production: Minor
- Material: Silicone Carbide (First Layer), Depleted Baradium (Second Layer, Reinforcing Rods and Fourth Layer), Carbon Phenolic (Third Layer) and Titanium (Fifth Layer)
- Classification: Composite Tank Armor
- Weight: Extremely Heavy
- Color: Dark Grey
- Resistances:
- Energy (And other Blaster type weapons): Very High
- Kinetic: Very High
- Lightsabers: Average
- Sonic: Average
- EMP/ION: Average
- Several Layers of Armor
- Air Gap
- Ceramic Materials: Because of the use of Silicon carbide in the armors construction the armor is highly resistant to most forms of kinetic weaponry as it absorbs the kinetic energy and disperses it
- Ablative Materials: Due to the inclusion of a layer of Carbon Phenolic inthe armor it is highly resistant to energy weapons as the energy is dispersed among this layer
- Air Gap: While initially designed to disperse the jet of molten metal from shaped charges the air gap between the fourth and fifth layer also works to disperse the shockwave from sonic weaponry
- Tandem-Charge Warheads: One of the weaknesses of the armor due to its construction is the fact that tandem charge warheads are much more effective than your standard anti-tank weaponry
- Close Range: Like most armors it is repeated strain in the same area, this is not a problem at the ranges tanks usually engage at but as the distance between the tank and its opponents close this becomes much more of a worry
- Too Heavy for Personal Armor: Due to the many layers require for the armor to be effective it is too heavy to employed in your typical personal armor
- Maintenance Extensive: The expense materials and exact manner in which the armor is crafted make it highly maintenance intensive, close to double that of your standard tank armors
- Extreme Velocity Kinetic Weapons: While great against most forms of kinetic weaponry the armor is particularly vulnerable to kinetic weapons such as railguns and coilguns
