+ Unlimited Ammo + Use of reactor based energy to form energy bombs gives the system an unlimited stock of ammunition reducing the need for storage of volatile munitions.
+ Dumb Ammo + The usual weakness of guided munitions is the reliance upon sensors to guide a missile to the target, subject to jammers and all sorts of other EWAR systems. The Bomblet Generator lacks such systems and relies on operator skill to send the energy torpedo towards its intended target.
+ Dumb But Tough + Raw Reactor Energy drawn from the core of a ship before being wrapped in a magnetic shield before it is hurled at the enemy. And the generators destructive power scales with the Reactor feeding it.
- Slow Moving - While unlimited, the energy bombs are sluggish and less effective at range given their lack of guidance.
- Beacon in the Dark - This system only gives you one shot before you ruin the element of surprise and announce yourself and your location to anyone watching their scanners.
- Dumb Bomb - While benefitting from anti-missile qualities, there is no capability of this weapon truly following a target or deviating from its original trajectory.
A simple design, the expansion of the Priddy catalog would not be complete without a delve into the some form of heavy ordnance systems. Developed under strict contingencies for space saving and having a recyclable ammunition system, this system is relatively self contained in the lack of restocking ammunition. The lack of advanced systems or anything to activate gives it a strong edge in the anti-missile system game. However the weapon itself is heavily subject to shielding systems.
One noted feature however is that the magnetic shielding of the torpedo has tendencies to be drawn towards ferrous metals, though being unguided it does not differentiate between friends and foes. And the magnetic property of the torpedo is not entirely reliable given spatial anomalies and potential effects of being near a strong source of gravity.
