Just under the upper hand.
I walked into the large workshop with my alchemical longsword on my left hip. I hadn't been employed long with the Hegemony and may not be employed for long if I couldn't make myself useful. With that in mind I set out to test my first and so far only creation, an advanced combat training droid.
I walked across the work shop and stopped in front of the sleek droid and activated it. It had its restraining bolt in place and I was ready for immediate deactivation should it be called for. The droid came online and I couldn't help but feel pleased with my work as the blue photoreceptors began to glow and it raised itself erect. I had to admit it looked decent.
I turned and gained some distance between myself and the droid that had been programed with the basics of the first three forms of lightsaber comabt.
"Athos," I said calling it by its working title, "Shii-cho level 1 training session."
The droid complied and removed the training sword from the wall and assumed a basic stance.
"Yes Master." Athos said, "Shii-Cho, is the first form of lightsaber combat developed by the ancient Jedi when a transition was being made from metallic baldes to the now well known energy beam blade of the lightsaber. We will begin with attacks and parries."
I took off my sword belt and removed my own training weapon from the wall and held it with both hands in a vertical grip. The droid slowly brought his blade down in a vertical slash which I parried by turning slightly and raising my blade in a horizontal block. I immediately pushed the blade back and turned back slightly to offer the same vertical slash at the droid. Who in turn blocked my strike in the same way I had just blocked his.
I continued on committing the motions to muscle memory until my arms began to ache. I held out a hand and the droid immediately stopped and took a idle stance while I walked away to remove my coat and get a drink of water. I stood in my grey tank top and black trousers catching my breath and letting the lactic acid build up 8b my muscles subside.
"This would be easier if I used the Force Athos." I told the droid.
"The force is not a part of my programming Ms. Korr." The droid replied.
"I know Athos, I know."
