Products from inactive companies (can we use them?)

Question to the community.

How do we handle using canon and fluff from companies that were made but are no longer active in chaos.

For instance I want to buy X weapon from company that is no longer active, owner last logged in 2014.

generally if the company made a contract with a faction and then goes inactive said faction can still use it.... as t buying it well you are kind of out of luck with that.

however if it is a canon company and you feel the itch you can try for a hostile takeover and sell you yourself just read the canon company rules

Can you also work out a "production contract" with a canon company, (put in a factory submission to make a version of one of their products)

[member="Bryce Bantam"] you are able to make contracts with companies and they are npc's yes up to a point. Believe a tier 4 and higher cannot

Tagging those actually in an actual position of authority to discuss and state procedures not clearly defined by rules.

So far as I know, if the owner of the company is inactive, you are SOL. Dev your own version is what I have been told by former FJ's. This may have changed, so I tagged those who would likely best know, or have the authority to speak on grey areas.

If the canon company is unclaimed, go nuts, you don't even need a thread, just link the wookiee page to the company in the sub. If it is claimed, (or any company that has been submitted), its courtesy to ask them first before using them as a Manufacturer (Partially so they can keep up with what they manufacture as it helps with their tier advancement). Also, as with certain companies they may have to decline, (IE, the Super-Good Defenders of the Light affiliated Company probably won't let you use them to manufacture goods for the sith).

I hear ATC lets you use them for whatever, whenever, for whoever, there is a thread somewhere, but [member="Danger Arceneau"] can confirm.

Yus!

Here you go.

Do you need a company to link for your Tech subs?

I’m easy so I’ll offer up the following companies for you to enjoy and use if you want a Tier 6 company to submit subs. I honestly don’t mind if anyone uses ATC to create their items, i’ve done this all the time and told people go crazy. Just make sure you add tags ( Arceneau Trade, ATC) . It makes it easier to search for products that way. You don’t even have to contact me. Just have fun and RP guys. :)

As an added incentive, ICLY ATC will pay royalties in the form of 10% annual sales to the Tech subber for cashflow.

*Note: Also remember that you also still have the option to use "Various" or the name of your faction or your own character (provided its not a line of starships or something big like that). This offer is if you want a distinct well known company to link back to or to produce it at a higher production rate. ( Minor & Mass)
