STRENGTHS
- Escort Ship: Four Specialized Anti-Strikecraft sensor arrays give the LTL mounts even higher than normal accuracy against fast moving smallcraft. These can be disabled or destroyed, of course.
WEAKNESSES
- Limited Hanger: The 'hanger' on the Guardian is basically a set of enclosed latch cranes. While this allows for extremely rapid deployment, it also means there's almost no deck space to conduct maintenance or repairs.
DESCRIPTION
Project 18614 is a fairly recent development, but is designed to fill a gap in the Corvette lineup currently available to the growing faction. In short, a 'bog-standard production corvette.' This doesn't mean it's a cheaply or shoddily made ship, the Guardian still features the top-notch engineering and construction standards common to all First Order vessels, it's just not a particularly unique ship. An all-rounder vessel in corvette form, it has a respectable main battery, a large amount of point defense LTL's, and a squadron of strikecraft in a largely external hanger for support. Beyond some specialized anti-strikecraft targeting arrays, there is little else unusual about the corvette. Typically deployed as part of a patrol group, or to fill gaps in a larger strike group, the Guardian is widely used throughout First Order space.
