Project Exo-Vis part 2

A day or two had gone by and Patricia had returned to the development center on antecedent, she again had worn her tight red dress and sat in the observation deck above the team of engineers. Patricia had a cup of coffee in her hand that she had picked up from the break room, looking down at it she saw small streaks of grease on the top and a few areas where the creamer had lumped together. Yum, she thought to herself sarcastically then took a sip.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen, today we will be building the arms and legs. And the hydraulic system within it." The lead engineer Robert said to the team bellow.

"We will start with the arms and work our way down." He said then looked over to his team who were all collectively head nodding.

Sprawled out of the table were various pieces of durasteel and mechanical parts that were beyond Patricia. She could easily put together guns and blasters but mechanics like this were beyond her scope. It made her feel humble in a way.

"So for the arms we will be using a more lightweight titanium alloy that will help maintain strength and keep weight down rather than traditional durasteel." The engineer Robert said as he looked towards his team.

Taking the mechanics and pieces they began to build the arms down until about bellow the elbow. On each arm pieces of titanium alloy were constructed along with the hydraulic system that attached to the ball joints. The lightweight metal snapped into place and was quickly moved around to test it's reach and flexibility. Everything lined up the way it should have which was excellent.

"Alright, make sure you bring the argon gas coolant system through the hydraulic system. We don't want this to overheat when active." The lead engineer ordered and his team quickly followed.

Placing the various wires and tubes on the hydraulic system they worked in the system and made sure everything was wired and ready to go.

"Alright let's move to the elbows and forearms. Make sure to put an internal sensor on the shoulder joints and wire it." The team made it so making sure to put a sensor tucked inside the titanium at the joints of the hydraulic system and areas of movement.

Patricia watched from above and saw them attach the shoulder harness, it was a simple area of titanium allow that would fit over the user's shoulders and attach down to around the upper chest.

"Let's get these elbows on, now we want to attach hydraulics on the triceps and forearms for that explosive power. Get it done guys." As the lead engineer walked over to the boxes he began to take out and assemble the hydraulic system for the triceps of the machine.

The team set another joint at the elbow and it allowed for the basic movement of the human and near human elbow as to not snap bones our outstretch any arms. Once that was done the two sensors were placed and worked into a few rubber insulated areas. It was about time to add in the second set of hydraulics around the forearms to create a explosive punch.

Moving in and working swiftly the engineers pushed the clock and sparks flew from welders as everything was snapping and welding into place. The second set of hydraulics were set on the forearms along with the restraints to place your arms and hold them into the machine. They had also wired I the coolant and electrical system as well.

"Now let's wire in the hands and magnetic gloves." The man said with that giddy smile returning to his face

Patricia taking a long sip of coffee watched the bouncy and giddy engineer work his magic, she chuckled and respected that. Someone who loved their job and loved working with their team, she always wished she could do that. Have a job that she loved doing and get paid to do it.

"Let's get the hands people. I want this to be excellent!" The man moved over to the forearms to create a braver to connect and add stabilization.

Afterwards he and his team began to attach the "gloves" that were essentially the hydraulic system to standard robotic limbs. However these were titanium alloy and each individual finger connecting to the back of the hand was loaded with it's own little hydraulic system to add increased power and grip.

"Get those magnetic plates on the front." He said and the team quickly obliged grabbing the electronically activated plates.

"These plates are powerful enough to stick to metal surfaces and help the operator climb walls! So cool right?" The lead engineer Robert Dalso said with a nerdy little chuckle then snort.

With the magnetic plates that were electronically activated and more well known for the mag boots of the galaxy, they were attached to the other ends of the gloves and the electrical system and coolant system was wired in through that arms along with the hydraulic fluids which was just a standard oil. Once the gloves were attached he made sure to turn them on and run a quick test. Everything checked out and they stuck hard to the metal table.

"Alright people! The arms are done! Now let's hit the legs and make sure we are careful down there." He said and moved to his devices

The men began to place down another large box of mechanics and various parts that would hopefully soon resemble legs. They placed it down and smiled at each other placing various parts out on the table getting them ready for the next step in the project.

"I want these legs attached to the cradle and spine. Make sure you wire it properly and be sure to add a ball joint for the legs for flexibility." Robert said and wanted to make sure this thing offered at least most of the mobility the human body did.

The men began to attach the leg system to about the thighs on the machine, working through various hydraulics and other wirings. They attached the basic sensors and made sure to wire in the fluid, electrical, and gas lines weaving it through the metal frame and keeping it protected under the titanium alloy of the machine.

"Keep it up and make sure we form the leg cage at the thigh. We want to have these properly grip as to maintain movement." The lead engineer said and moved to the thighs now that the basic hydraulic system at been set.

Laying down a small working of titanium pieces of metal the man created a small restraint and area where the operator would fit their leg into. Once that was done it seemed as if they were ready to move on to the next area.

"Alright. Let's get these calves going and loaded. Then we can hit up the feet and magnetic boots." He said still wearing that nerdy smile.

Patricia sipped more coffee and watched bellow as it seemed they were coming close to where they needed to be. It was damn fine work and she had a feeling in the pit of her gut that this was what would do it. This would put them on the map and make them legends through the galaxy. Patricia just sipped her coffee and kept herself composed however, as excited as she may have been.

"Hydraulic calves and attach the joint to the knees." The man said and watched his team go to work.

First thing was first and that was making sure the knees bent. On both sides the joints that limited movement to the traditional limits of the human body were attached and tested so that no legs were about to dislocated from the power that would soon be pushing through it. After that was finished the teams began to move through the leg and attach the hydraulic calves to the equation making sure to add in the three main systems and what not. Adding sensors and making sure they were connected to the electrical unit that lead back to the central processing unit.

"Alright let's break out the feet and get ready to slide in the magnetic boots." Robert Dalso said with his smile looking more tired but still ready to continue.

Patricia watched calmly and finished off her cup of coffee. She smiled and looked down at what was to come next as the team of workers laid out two of the pieces of footwear onto the table.

"Nice." Patricia said with a little smile on her lips.

The engineer quickly sipped down a few chugs of water from a nearby water bottle and moved back to the table to lay out the feet. There wasn't really any hydraulics that went to this part. It was a pretty straight forward sandal and it was of course padded on the bottom to help move through various terrain much like a mountain or city streets.

"Get them on people." The man said and took a quick bite of a bagel with some cheese spread onto it.

The teams quickly attached the feet to it and buzzed them in. They were quickly placed on and the system was complete. That was it, it was built and they were ready to start the next step.

Making sure the mag lock boots were attached everything was hooked up and they laid the mechanical beast down on the table. Everyone gathered around to see what was going to happen next and hopefully it would work.

"Alright let's get ready to test it out." The man said and got ready to power or up.

Everything went silent again and even Patricia stood up once again to see if this project was worth all tbd effort. The team took a few steps back and the man looked at the holo computer near him that had a wife running to the machine on the operating table. He took a few deep breaths and calmed himself.

"Here we go." He said and made a mental countdown

When he pressed the activate button there was a low humming noise and then the machine began to spaz and flail around on the table unsure of what to do. It flopped and banged on the surface as the sensors were going crazy with power and movement. This was excellent, it meant that the sensors were working.

"YES!" Robert said loudly then fist pumped at the machine.

Powering it down the machine went limp and everyone was clapping over what they had just seen.

Patricia smiled and clapped from her stand, she looked down and saw the happy faces of everyone in the room. They had made real progress and it felt good to have it be done. She smiled sweetly and looked over to a sleeping form in a hover cradle nearby. It was her son Kincaid and she was happy to say that she might have a chance for her son to live In a galaxy where the sith did not destroy everything.

"Alright everyone! Great work! I am so proud of everyone! We will make up another one of these and have them programmed so people aren't a rag doll." Everyone chuckled then smiled at one another.

"So let's get this cleaned up and we'll move into the next phase of testing." The man said with a smile and moved over to the machine to put his hand on it.

The team began to load up the heavy creation onto a hover cart and two it away. It was the future of security and warfare and perhaps the answer to what the galaxy needed in the fight against the sith. Patricia smiled down at Robert and the man gave her a thumbs up as another day of work ended for them
