Project Exo-Vis

In the labs of the Stargo Defense Enterprise building on Antecedent a new type of soldier was being created. And no there was no super soldier program, no taking children from birth and raising them to be killing machines. This was something that would take the common soldier and make him a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield, something that could enhance strength and speed all while being something the user could slip in and out of.

Standing over a team of engineers in a display room Patricia sat in a rather comfy chair as she watched the team load out various different parts for their creation.

Standing up she walked over to the railing and looked down at the men in their jumpsuits and white lab coats. She smiled at them then began to speak in a very happy tone of voice.

"Gentlemen, ladies, we will be creating the future today. I want you all to know that. And with the future we will be taking back this galaxy from the storm that plagues it. You are all doing great work here and I will be watching you. Carry on." Patricia said then went to sit back down in her seat sipping her coffee as the process began

With all the different parts laid out on the table the first thing was of course the case. The foundation and cradle where all things rise up from nothing, and this foundation came in the form of a thick slab of durasteel. With a loud thump the piece of metal that seemed to curl and smooth so it would fit around the back of a person hit the table and rocked for a few moments. It's decent weight evident in the small amount of protection that it would provide the internal workings that would soon go within it.

A bit above half a meter the piece of metal lay on the table and the engineers began to talk about it and make notes over a holocam and recorder.

"We have the Exo-Vis main unit inner shell. This piece will be designed to hug the back of the user once the harness is strapped to it. It's about half an inch thick and will properly protect the unit's internal workings." The engineer said to his team as he faced the little floating camera.

Patricia watched from her observation deck and took another sip of her coffee watching as the engineers placed the shell down and center it properly on the table

The engineers shortly after began to gather and set down a sheet of rubber that was cut in the shape of the shell that was on the table. Placing it out on the table the men laid the rubber inside of the durateel cradle and bolted it in the proper tool. Once it was firmly in the lead engineer looked to the holocamera and ran a hand across his matted brown hair.

"We are setting up some rubber insulation to help keep the parts in place and help against ion based attacks. This will keep the unit's parts in place and help protect them as well." The engineer said then moved to a small box near the table.

Taking the box he carefully instructed his people to lay down the durasteel frame where the parts and wiring would plug in and connect. They had a simple blueprint and now that the rubber was laid down it was time to do so with the framing to go inside of it. It obviously didn't need to be announced so the lead engineer maintained his look at the little black box in front of him and placed it near the now framed shell.

"Alright, now let's take this nice and slow, we don't want to break anything." The man said and set the box down before opening It up slowly

When the lead engineer opened the box it was to a standard CPU or central processing unit that belonged in most droids or holo net computers. Placing the CPU at the center of the cradle, the engineer fixed it and placed a few pieces of insulator around it. Once that was done the dormant CPU laid in a fixed position snapped on and in it's proper place.

"Here we have the CPU, or central processing unit. It is a basic everyday one that you can find in most computers. This will function as the units command center and where all the magic will happen." The lead engineer said with a smile then proceeded on to other parts of the machine.

Patricia kept watch and sipped at her coffee. She wanted to pull her hair out from boredom but it was necessary that she was here to watch over this. It was her idea when she pitched it to Stargo and it was about time she took some sort of responsibility besides shooting stuff.

The engineers however moved a few more parts over and began to hook up various cables to the CPU and a junction where they would split off into the different connecting pieces of the ever growing puzzle that was this mystery machine

"Alright let's place the battery in, and hook up the extra wires into it for the solar paneling." The lead engineer said and looked to his team that were scurrying along to fix up this machine.

Grabbing a large and rectangular battery with slight edges to fit it, the team placed it bellow the Central Processing Unit towards the base of the cradle. Letting it snap into place the team began to hook up the battery to the Central Processing Unit and said that was connected as wires ran through various small tunnels to get to where they needed to go.

"Standard lithium ion charged battery with a life of two standard galactic days, we have worked in a few extra wires at these junctions here and here to produce solar panels to place once the unit is closed." The lead engineer said and had the battery firmly secured

Grabbing the next piece the man placed down a canister of something very cold since he had to carry it with a thick pair of gloves. A few other men placed down rubber tubes and hoses to the side and made sure to keep clear of the lead engineer holding the canister

"This is argon gas, very cold and a excellent source for coolant as one of the noble gases." The lead engineer said and began his careful work.

Watching from above Patricia leaned over and finished up her coffee. They were getting to the good stuff now. Patricia tapped her foot slowly in a small cadence before looking down at the people now proceeding with the procedure. She knew little about argon but she knew enough to know that it was used as coolant in their scrap maker missile launcher.

The man placed the argon gas can into the cradle and gently hooked it up to a main hose. From there be laid out a junction where the hoses would trail off into separate smaller ones that spread around the cradle almost like a spider web. Once the wires were placed the lead engineer turned to the camera.

"A argon gas cooling system will keep the unit performing under stressful conditions. This will be a critical factor and we recommend changing canisters at least once a month depending on frequent use." The man said and looked to the next piece of the puzzle

A team soon came in with a large box and placed it down on the table near the box. It was heavy by the looks of it taking two men to lift.

"Unload the mechanics and begin to assemble, I want the ball joints hooked up in the corners and the hydraulic fluid canister to the left of the CPU."

The team now began to drop off various parts and mechanical pieces onto the table. But first they went with the lead engineers order. Grabbing a small tank of hydraulic fluids he placed it down near the CPU across the other side of the noble gas canister to keep it from freezing. Loading it up they repeated the process of placing down the tube junction so that the hoses could carry the fluids to the other parts where the hydraulics would be attached.

"Alright, now we are going to go in and place the mechanics. This may take a moment or two." The lead engineer said with a giddy look on his face.

Patricia just sighed and ordered another cup of coffee. But all was good in the name of science and development.

Going in to each corner the team laid a durasteel ball joint then tracked it back to the center of the cradle where a hydraulic engine and mechanic was laid down. It was hard to describe but it connected to each corner of the cradle in almost a web of shiny durasteel, various fluids and oil flowed through it and this gave control to what would soon be attached to it.

"Grab the sensors." The lead engineer said with a tired smile knowing that their job was coming to an end

Another box was placed down and this time it was a bit smaller in size. The good doctor chuckled at it and wiggled his fingers very excited to get his hands on the sensors that laid Inside of the box. As he cracked it open a few of the smaller sensors the galaxy had to offer for things like armor and the like were laying there nearly arranged.

"Come to papa." The engineer said as he was having a nerdgasm

Taking it and picking it up he began to place each sensor at the ends of each ball joint so they would line up with it's field of vision. Afterwards he began to attach each sensor to the CPU through the various wires that were running through it. Once that was done he hooked up the sensors to hydraulic system in the back and nodded at it.

"Get ready to power it up soon." The man said and continued to check over each and every little sensor to make sure they were snapped in place and looking good.

Patricia meanwhile simply sipped her coffee and rubbed at her temples. Everything was going well and this was ground breaking technology that could help turn the tide of war in the galaxy. But dammit if it wasn't boring, she'd much rather be at home with her husband spending some quality alone time in the bedroom.

The lead engineer looked down at the machine they had created and hoped that it would at least power on and function. Everyone looked to each other and there was a collective moment of silence that dawned upon the room. The team put a hand on each other's shoulders and then the lead engines spoke.

"Alright guys, this is it. If this doesn't blow up in our face then we are one big leap forward." The man said and looked towards his team.

Patricia in the observation deck stood up and set her coffee aside wanting to get a better look at what was about to happen.

"Hold on to your butts." The man said then quickly pressed the ion battery on switch. Once that was done there was a low barely audible humming noise and the cradle came to life with different parts moving and whirling around and fluids moving as it had no idea how to move or orient itself.

The team cheered loudly and Patricia smiled at the sight herself. It was functional and it meant they were getting closer to something that could throw a major wrench into the plans of evil as a whole.

With the amount of clapping in the room the lead engineer took a bow then wiped the sweat of his forehead. Patricia herself was even clapping for the man and she smiled a white toothy and happy grin. After the applause had gone down the lead engineer looked down at the device and quickly shut it down.

"Alright. Let's lay down the rubber on the other end then close her up." The man said and everyone nodded in agreement.

The second half of the cradle came and it was another piece of layered durasteel lined with rubber. Once it was ready to go the engineers quickly put the two halves together and bolted them together with wires and various hoses still sticking out of the corners where the ball joints were located. And soon the backpack looking metal creation was set and everyone was excited and happy to see their hard work take a leap forward.

"Great work team. Let's take a breather for the night." The engineer said then smiled widely.

Patricia looked down at the man and knew that he certainly was a keeper. She'd go down there in a bit to give the man what he deserved

Walking down from the observation deck Patricia approached the lead engineer in her tight red dress and smiled at the man. She needed no introduction, everyone in the room knew who she was and that she commissioned this project from Stargo.

"Gentlemen. You have done great work today." Patricia said then looked over to the man.

"You there, what's your name?" She said to the dark skinned engineer with the brown hair.

"Robert Dalso ma'am." The engineer said with a smile.

"Well Robert I have my eyes on you. Do not disappoint." The woman said then quickly slapped a check in the man's hand then walked away with a smile.
