STRENGTHS
  • Power-Assisted Servos - Coupled with the additional Myomer System - and acting as a semi-counter to the suit's already heavy-weight - Project Omega is equipped with a number of Power-Assisted Servos. Dispersed throughout the armor at key points - such as the elbows, wrists, and knees - they assist the operator in ensuring that the armor is functional and operational in all aspects, be it on the field of battle or off.
  • Jump Pack - An optional addition to the armor - which is installed on the mounting brackets on the back of the torso. The suit is capable of providing the required power needed as well as maintaining an additional reservoir of fuel to ensure that the jump pack remains functional. Beyond this function, it should be noted, that there is otherwise nothing special or overtly amazing in regards to the Jump Pack itself, as it maintains all the advantages and disadvantages of a standard Jump Pack.
  • Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System - Even as technologies of war continue to advance, there are still those older technologies that are tested and true, remaining important even as the years march forward. Working in tandem with IFF Circuitry systems within the armor - the system assists the operator in those less than favorable conditions on the field of battle in which their vision or direct line of sight is hindered or otherwise obscured. Marking out friendly positions and locals in the immediate vicinity and feeding the information directly into the HUD of Project Omega - this system ensures that friendly-fire instances are greatly reduced.
  • Improved Movement - Lacking the Ablative Plating that was a standard feature on its predecessor - Project Omega has forgone the addition of this component to provide its operators improved movement that was otherwise hindered by the Ablative plating. However, this was done at the cost of additional protection from Ion-based weaponry.
  • Reinforced Gammaplast Armor - An improvement over its predecessor model is the addition of reinforced pauldrons comprised mainly of Gammaplast. These pauldrons are shaped in such a way as to divert glancing blows and low-yield blaster bolts away from the torso to provide additional protective capabilities to the armor. As well as provide additional protection to more critical - and previously vulnerable - locations such as the torso, joints, and extremities, providing for an armor that is more robust than the predecessor Phase II Hellplate.
  • High Radiation Resistance - Advanced materials and additional systems that have been added to Project Omega have greatly increased its capability of handling and protecting its operator from harmful levels of Radiation. It should be noted, that while this increases the duration in which an individual can operate in such an environment and radioactive conditions - it does not make the individual completely immune from the effects of Radiation poisoning - specifically those often faced at higher levels present in a location.
  • High Kinetic Resistance - Reinforced armor platting combined with faceted angular planes located in key locations along the helmet, chest piece, and joints, provides additional protective capabilities that were otherwise lacking in the predecessor. This ensures that nearly all except the heaviest of caliber rounds either glance away from the armor or impact harmlessly against Project Omega.
  • Reconfigurable Pack - An optional pack that can be mounted on the brackets located on the back of the armor in place of a standard jump pack. This backpack often carries additional munitions and standard equipment that a trooper would have access to in the field. Additionally, the pack itself can be further augmented and configured to tailor to the specific needs of an individual - this can range from canisters to supply additional oxygen, heavy weapons, and accompanying explosives and munitions; or in some cases, additional medical supplies such as field kits, Bacta or Kolto dispensers, and a medical assistance droid - or any number of equipment or supplies as required or pertinent to a specific mission.
  • Hey! Listen! - Project Omega is equipped with a virtual assistant - short of a fully functioning Artificial Intelligence - whose capabilities are further augmented through the addition of the B.A.R.C.A. program. These two systems, integrated into Project Omega, offer an in-depth analytical assistant to each operator in the field of battle that is capable of handling the mass of information from the suit's other sensors and systems, as well as communications, that would otherwise likely overwhelm the organic operator within Project Omega.
  • We Are Legion - While a single Project Omega is an informational node in and of itself, a grouping of them establishes a tight-knit informational matrix that secures, processes, and transfers data of ever-changing situations back to a primary node. This is accomplished through the utilization of the Legion Networking Software - mated with Padlocke, Navi, and BARCA - even a small unit of Project Omega proves to be a powerful data crunching and processing node protected with sophisticated Electronic Counter Measures to ensure that their information and communications are secure even in the heat of battle.
  • Integrated Scattergun - Project Omega prides itself on ensuring that its operator has every tool available as they could potentially require for a given mission or tour. As a means to ensure this truth, each unit is equipped with a Scattergun that is integrated into the right forearm of the unit just above its Scomp Link. Though limited in its capacity - it provides the operator with a quickly and easily accessible secondary weapon for utilization in close quarters or when a primary weapon has either malfunctioned or requires reloading.
  • God-eye - An integral part of the Integrated Scattergun - the Locke and Key 'God-eye' technology, feeds information on the status of the Scattergun directly into the H.U.D. of Project Omega. This provides the operator with a clear and concise count of remaining munitions, the status of the weapon, and additional information that is deemed pertinent to the weapon's operation.
  • Secondary Guidance Thrusters - While the Jump Pack itself limits the capabilities of the individual - in the regards that it does not permit sustained flight or greater control beyond the descent - Project Omega can be outfitted with a set of secondary guidance thrusters. These thrusters are attached to the legs, and hooked into the power systems of the armor itself - and permit the operator greater control in terms of guidance when initiating a jump, permitting additional flight capabilities beyond what is commonly seen capable with the standard Jump Pack.
  • Biological and Chemical Seal - Each unit of Project Omega - like its predecessors - is capable of being fully sealed against both Chemical and Biological attacks or threats to the internal operator. Thus, in turn, preventing the organic operator within Project Omega from inhaling or coming into contact with any kind of biological or chemical agent that may have been released in a given area. However, it should be noted, that this system does not permit an individual to otherwise operate in an environment that is otherwise detrimental or conducive to their specific species' breathing requirements.
  • Integrated Med-System - Produced by Breshig War Forge Consolidated - Project Omega comes, as part of its standard equipment, with an integrated medical system. This system is capable of handling minor medical emergencies, treating specific viral infections, and in general, maintains the vital functions of an organic operator until such time that they are capable of receiving more substantial life-saving efforts. In short, the system keeps an individual alive - to the best of its abilities - until said individual can reach a more well-equipped medical center and provider.

WEAKNESSES
  • Low Sonic Resistance - Though maintaining a series of protective measures to counter damage from other sources - Project Omega, much like its predecessor, lacks the proper internal padding and components to counteract the effects of sonic-based weapons. While capable of withstanding low-yield bursts, glancing strikes, and even one or two strikes from higher-yield weapons - Project Omega is otherwise incapable of withstanding successive strikes from high-yield weaponry, or even those caused by such weapon emplacements as a Sonic Cannon. Under these circumstances, the armor serves to concentrate and multiply the force of the Sonic burst, effectively bouncing it around internally and potentially liquefying the operator within.
  • Low Ion / EMP Resistance - Though equipped with MIL-GRADE ElectroMag Defense Units to protect specific regions and subsystems within Project Omega - the overall resistance against Ion or EMP-based weaponry is lacking. Thus, Project Omega is still vulnerable to damage from these sources, and, though capable of withstanding minor glancing blows or lower-yield weapon bursts, higher-yield bursts - such as those from a modified Jawa Ion Cannon or similar weaponry, or a focused EMP-burst - would have a similar effect as seen in the predecessor model. Successive or high-yield bursts would thus render systems either inert or catastrophically damaged - and in turn - would effectively trap the operator inside of their armor.
  • Cumbersome - Similar to its predecessor, Project Omega requires a potential operator to undergo additional endurance training and physical standards on top of the specialized training required to properly operate the suit in its entirety. Unlike other armors - which are simply donned and more easily accessible - the cumbersome nature of the armor, mixed with the advanced systems and delicate subsystems - renders it next to useless to those without the appropriate training - this is even taking into consideration the assistance provided by the Power-Assisted Servos located throughout the suit.
  • Servo Vulnerability -While the bulk of the servos are held internally - there are some minor gaps in armor coverage that can be exploited to damage these servos or the servos could be rendered inoperable, even when protected by a MIL-GRADE ElectroMag Defense Unit. In the event that the servo is damaged, operating Project Omega becomes next to impossible - and requires the greatest feat of strength to even move an arm, let alone be capable of walking in the suit. In this event, Project Omega would effectively be rendered dead in the water.
  • Very Heavy - Though constructed of considerably lighter materials than its predecessor - Project Omega is still a heavier suit of armor than what can be considered the standard across the galaxy. This makes its deployment planetside which is dominated by geographical features such as Mud, Sandy, and Gravelly Soil, Bogs, or similar such features highly discouraged. This is due in part to the simple fact that the armor can easily become trapped or mired in these environments - with the potential of rendering the armor completely immobile - and in other cases, without proper preparations, can potentially lead to Project Omega sinking into these terrain features - and in turn - either suffocating or drowning the operator within.
  • Venting Ports - As a means to handle the higher heat output of certain internal systems and to prevent overheating in general, a series of venting ports are located on the back of the suit. However, it should be noted that these ports can be damaged, and in the process of such, would cause the heat to build up within the suit. This would not only damage the internal systems producing the heat, but it could also likewise have catastrophic effects on the operator of Project Omega.
  • Secondary Guidance Thrusters - An external system that is often added when Project Omega is outfitted with a paired Jump Pack attachment - this system provides additional guidance, control, and thrust to the operator. However, it is also vulnerable to damage - either from conventional weaponry, ion, or EMP attacks. In the event that one or both of these secondary thrusters were damaged, the result could be catastrophic - from dropping an operator out of the sky unexpectedly, to resulting in them losing control and crashing Project Omega into any nearby surface, including the ground.
  • Patience my young Padawan - Sharing similar attributes to the armor worn by the Galactic Empire's Purge Troopers - Project Omega is capable of withstanding limited damage from a Lightsaber as well as being able to handle even glancing blows. However, this does not mean that the armor is entirely impervious or otherwise incapable of being damaged by a Lightsaber. Much like Qui-Gon Jinn cutting through blast doors - A lightsaber thrust directly into the armor would have a similar, devastating effect when employed against the armor.
  • Restraint Limiter - As a means to further assist in the operation of Project Omega - in addition to its Power-Assisted Servos - a Myomer Actuation System was installed into the suit. This system - when utilized in armor such as Project Omega - while capable of providing greater strength and speed, requires that certain restraints are put into place to prevent damage, either to the suit or its operator. If this limiter were damaged or disabled - such in the case of an Ion or EMP strike - the potential of harm to the operator and Project Omega increase, and in turn, the actuator itself would be rendered stuck in a 'relaxed' position, resulting in further complications when it comes to operating Project Omega.
  • Processor Burnout - Utilizing Omnisiah class Hybrid Processors to assist operators of Project Omega to handle the large quantities of data produced by their internal and external systems - these processors are known to run extremely hot and require cooling to prevent them from becoming damaged or damaging other internal systems. In the event that the venting ports are damaged or the suit is damaged in such a means as to prevent the heat from being bled off, the processor and surrounding components would become damaged to the point of being rendered useless - greatly compromising Project Omega's capabilities of processing data gathered through utilizing the suits Scomp-Link, or properly processing information from the Anq-Y Optics Suite.
  • Power Cabling - Located not out of necessity though rather out of chance - a set of power cabling is easily spotted located on the back of Project Omega. Though the cabling is armored, it is still exposed and has the potential of being damaged during standard operations of Project Omega. In this instance, the damaged cabling could potentially cause power fluctuations and malfunctions within the suit to those systems that require power - effectively rendering many systems inert and potentially shutting off power to the entire suit.
  • Tokai Comm Encryption - Project Omega is equipped with a sophisticated encrypted communication system that allows their transmissions - both internal and external vocalization - to be difficult to understand, such as when Death Troopers communicate. Though this ensures their communications are encrypted, it presents a downside - in that - those without the Tokai Comm Encryption unit within their own systems are incapable of understanding any communications sent by those that have a Tokai Comm Encryption installed. This means, that anyone wishing to communicate and understand said communications with Project Omega, must also possess this important piece of technology.
  • Biological and Chemical Seal - While Project Omega provides protection against biological and chemical agents, it should be noted that this does not permit Project Omega - more specifically, its operate - to actively operate for any length of duration in an environment that is otherwise hazardous to their species physiological requirements (i.e. Project Omega would not permit a Human Operative to operate on a planet such as Gand, whose atmosphere is comprised of Ammonia, without additional life support systems).
  • Non-EVA - Though capable of being sealed for a limited time with the duration being extended based on the configuration of the backpack being worn - Project Omega is not rated to the same standards as a de facto EVA suit and is otherwise incapable of operation in similar environments for prolonged lengths of time - nor is it capable of withstanding certain pressures such as a standard EVA suit.
  • Limited Medical - Though equipped with an Integrated Med-system produced by Breshig War Forge Consolidated - the capabilities of the system are in their own limits as presented by the system itself. While capable of handling minor medical emergencies and basic first aid in the field - it is not an effective replacement for a dedicated medical droid or a fully trained physician. Likewise, the system itself can also be overwhelmed - either from being disabled via an Ion strike or from depleting its limited resources that are carried in the system's containment unit.
DESCRIPTION
Project Omega is the culmination of years of conflict and serves as the successor to the Phase II Hellplate armor - while retaining many of the systems and capabilities as its predecessor - Project Omega maintains a slew of new components and systems - a marked upgrade when compared to its predecessor. Maintaining a number of materials that are often utilized in the construction and manufacturing of Starships - Project Omega remains on the heavier side and one of the heaviest armors in existence to the current date. This has unfortunately carried over the downsides that were often experienced with its predecessor - as seen in its difficulty in properly operating in such terrains as mud, bogs, or sand - which have the potential to render the armor immobile or suck it down into a quagmire, ultimately creating a tomb for its unfortunate operator. However, the upside to this heavier armor - which is further augmented with reinforced armor - is its capability to withstand small arms fire from small-caliber slugthrowers and low-yield blasters; while also being capable of shrugging off glancing blows from higher caliber slugthrowers and medium-yield blasters - provided they are glancing blows or directly striking the reinforced sections of armor. As a matter of fact, the armor itself can allegedly withstand nearly any form of kinetic or blaster-based weaponry save from the highest yield-blasters or armor-piercing slugs - this claim, however, has not been tested and it is not suggested that any operator of a Project Omega platform attempt to test such a theory or claim on or off the field of combat.

While Project Omega has seen the Ablative Plating - a hallmark feature of its predecessor - removed to provide additional maneuverability to the operator, a number of other systems have been added to more than makeup for the positive effects that the ablative plating had. One such feature is that Project Omega is capable of supporting a Jump Pack platform - connected to the armor via a series of mounting brackets on the back of the armor. This system also includes additional secondary thrusters attached to the legs of the armor - with both the Jump Pack and Boosters being powered by the suit's powerful Micro I-5A Reactor. However, the reactor itself is known to be temperamental - while a number of visible power cables also prove to be a tempting target to a keen-eyed sharpshooter; these power cables, if damaged or severed, in turn, could potentially lead to power fluctuations or malfunctions within the suit itself for those systems that require power. Likewise, a series of venting ports were required to be installed on Project Omega to assist in keeping delicate internal components cooled during operation - the damage of such ports has the potential to cause an excessive buildup of heat within the suit - which in turn, would ultimately cause catastrophic events within the armor up to and including the death of the operator.

It should be noted - that in a number of cases - Project Omega has also seen a marked increase in its protective capabilities in keeping the operator of a Project Omega platform alive and protected from certain environmental factors and weaponry discharges. However, it still has difficulty in protecting against specific weaponry - such as Ion or EMP-based weapons; which have the potential of overloading or shutting off critical systems within the suit - even though many such systems are afforded additional protection from such components as the MIL-GRADE ElectroMag Defense Unit. Likewise, much as its predecessors did, Project Omega still has difficulty in protecting against Sonic-based weaponry - with the suit apparently acting as an amplifier which increases the effectiveness of the Sonic burst. Additionally, though capable of withstanding glancing strikes - and minor direct strikes - of a Lightsaber, it is not completely invulnerable to such weapons - with the blade still more than capable of damaging the armor or cutting through it entirely if the lightsaber blade were plunged into the armor directly and permitted to burn through the material.

Additional components from a number of Confederacy-based Corporations and Contractors have also seen a marked improvement in Project Omega's capabilities over its predecessors - with an inclusion of a Breshig War Forge Consolidated Integrated Med System being one such feature that provides additional support to an operator of a Project Omega platform. However, the system itself is only capable of limited medical support - with any major issues or complications still requiring a trained medical professional and more rigorous treatments. The inclusion of a Locke and Key Legion Network - supporting a Navi and Barca system - also provides for additional logistical and tactical support - while a sophisticated Tokai Communications suit in each helmet ensures that only those operating a Project Omega platform are capable of understanding any communication between two individual platforms - thus preventing enemies from eavesdropping on confidential or vital combat information.

As the galaxy continues to spiral in its ever-increasing conflict and the horrors of war continue to consume planet after planet - the need for such armor as the Project Omega Platform has only increased and the brilliant minds at Von Sorenn Industries have delivered a top of the line, cutting edge armor to protect their own Security Forces as well as the soldiers of the Confederacy of Independent Systems.
