Promotion to Master: Sage Bane

Something something, [member="Sage Bane"] is the best. I'm putting the character up for promotion from Knight to Master ([member="Matsu Xiangu"] tested, [member="Vrag"] approved).

List of Rp's.

I vote yes for master. Lords of the OS, please cast your vote here. And if it's a no, please provide reasoning/constructive criticism. I think Sage has more than earned a spot as a Sith Lord.

I agree here

I am a bit torn here. On one hand, yes, because I am just very impressed by him.

On the other hand, no, simply because I feel like at 600 posts it is still fresh. I believe one should really work and take the time to enjoy each ranks, hell at 600 I became Knight. Plus we need more knights and padawans so pairing in RPs work better.

Personal Philosophy aside, I trust the judgement here and he is a impressive writer, so I vote yes.

It's my opinion that post counts literally mean less than anything as far as promotion goes - at least as far as the number beneath your avatar goes - and the fact that I was a master at around that point in time doesn't really make me want to think otherwise.

It all boils down to writing and character development as far as this goes, in my opinion. He is clearly a confident, skilled, and competent writer, so that much shouldn't be too difficult to determine my opinion on, and as far as development goes I haven't personally participated in a thread with him. Reading through his threads I see a clear focus on the development of training and faction-related things, which isn't bad, but I'd like to see more personal development of the character than just skill. But that's just a pet peeve of mine. Obviously I haven't been all too involved with the faction with this character as of late, so I'm not sure how much it matters whether I say yes or not (especially at this point), but I'd say he certainly deserves a position as a master at this point. As a writer he is more than capable of the responsibilities that come with that "power" and influence, and as a character he's made it to the point where I wouldn't see why he should be denied the progression to that realm of ability. So, in short, yes.

This is probably the last vote for a master with this character, too, (and if Shorn leaves me alone, the last post too) so congratulations if you get there, and congratulations on being nominated if you don't.

Post count has zero bearing on whether I nominate someone for master. Why? Because the watercooler exists and this faction forum exists, all of which can allow for posts to be made that have no IC bearing whatsoever. In the end, it's all about the quality of the threads, of which Sage has more than 50 - and they have illustrated the movement from acolyte to Lord.
