Flustered Amnesiac
Purpose: To portray master and padawan relationships in an manner more fitting to the Star Wars canon, and to provide a satisfactory and worthwhile way of advancing to Knighthood, free of the frustrations of searching for a master in discussion threads.
I. Master Selection
The training of the younger generation should be first priority to the Jedi Order. That is why I believe it is necesary to have a more organized system of training. Having a pool of dedicated Jedi Knights and Masters available to take on apprentices is important to maintain structure. Training padawans would not be mandatory for players, but heavily encouraged to make sure no low rank players are excluded.
II. Working as a Team
In the canon, the master and apprentice duo are almost always found together on missions, this should be reflected in roleplay. The two players involved must work together to plan out their mutual involvement in threads. This point is here just to make sure that the gameplay enviroment matches to the movies, books, and etc. as closely as possible.
III. Training Missions
Though the training thread as it stands now is functional, the best way to earn experience is to practice on real situations. Training threads should shift into a more interesting format. In particular, I was thinking about some of the smaller type missions the jedi of the Old Republic tended to handle, such as settling planetary border disputes, shutting down illegal smuggling operations, and uncovering assassination plots.
IV. Requirements
Even though padawan is the lowest rank in the Jedi Order, it is also the stage in which Jedi mature the most. My opinion, is that before a padawan can advance to knighthood, he/she must....
1. Actively post in three or more training missions
2. Take part in at least one Republic Dominion
3. And pass the Jedi Trials (As to what this may be is up to the council)
