[PROPOSAL] Treaty with CIS

Hello!

This thing has been done before, but due to some reasons, the following was planned out, but never became real. Today, I discussed the treaty again with the leader of CIS via Skype.

With the treaty (and membership) of CIS, the following was discussed:

[21:09:57] Sir G the Big: Alright, so let's hash this out again XD
[21:10:28] Sir G the Big: From what I remember, you guys wanted the leader of the Council to have Viceroyship over a planet/moon
[21:11:10] The Squirrel // Erik: It was Hanoon then, I think.
[21:11:16] Sir G the Big: That sounds right
[21:11:57] Sir G the Big: Viceroyship would thereby grant the Council leadership over the planet in question to operate freely (within the basic boundaries of Confederate law. No slavery or mass murders please)
[21:12:31] Sir G the Big: Viceroyship also means that the Council's members will be granted citizenship in the Confederacy, guaranteeing protection, assistance, and access to resources
[21:13:17] Sir G the Big: In exchange, OOCly, the Council will check in with the CIS during monthly check in; assist in faction threads here and there (dominions and so forth) and, in the event that we are invaded, will not count as allies; for they are citizens.
[21:14:40] Sir G the Big: I'd also like a master from your Council to sit on the Grand Council as an honorary member, which will thereby encourage collaboration between the Order and the Council. Likewise, if there is a leadership council in the Council, I'd like a Templar Master to have an honorary seat there. This will ensure that we get along and that our resources can be shared.
[21:15:02] Sir G the Big: These sound okay?
[21:15:18] The Squirrel // Erik: I will leave my comments for all the paragraphs now.
[21:15:20] The Squirrel // Erik: :D
Sir G the Big sage nods
[21:16:43] The Squirrel // Erik:
<<< Viceroyship would thereby grant the Council leadership over the planet in question to operate freely (within the basic boundaries of Confederate law. No slavery or mass murders please) >>>
- Yes. Our ideal of the future galaxy is a powerful place full of order and civilization. Slavery and mass murder can't exist in a high-level civilization.
[21:17:06] The Squirrel // Erik:
<<< Viceroyship also means that the Council's members will be granted citizenship in the Confederacy, guaranteeing protection, assistance, and access to resourcesIndeed. >>>
- We would love that.
[21:18:11] The Squirrel // Erik:
<<< In exchange, OOCly, the Council will check in with the CIS during monthly check in; assist in faction threads here and there (dominions and so forth) and, in the event that we are invaded, will not count as allies; for they are citizens. >>>
- The check-in will be discussed in the faction board of ours, but I believe we can make it work (maybe not all members due to some reasons). And we would love to help you whenever our help is needed.
[21:20:03] The Squirrel // Erik:
<<< I'd also like a master from your Council to sit on the Grand Council as an honorary member, which will thereby encourage collaboration between the Order and the Council. Likewise, if there is a leadership council in the Council, I'd like a Templar Master to have an honorary seat there. This will ensure that we get along and that our resources can be shared. >>>
- Sounds reasonable. Our faction doesn't have many Masters and one of them is already in the Fringe (-maybe- in the high council or something, but I'm not sure), but I believe we can find a way to make things work out. And we would accept any Templar Master to be a member of our Higher Council.
[21:20:57] Sir G the Big: An amendment then: members of the Council, as they are citizens of the CIS, will be welcome and encouraged to check in during the monthly check ins; but this is not mandatory.
[21:21:48] Sir G the Big: Amendment two: whomever your council delegates to sit as apart of the guest seat on the Templar Council will be accepted. Preferably a Knight rank at minimum
[21:23:59] The Squirrel // Erik: Oh, one thing. As our faction is ICly led by the Archmage who is an NPC, I suppose we shall have a diplomat in the CIS to take the position of Viceroy.
[21:28:19] Sir G the Big: Got a second in command who's a PC?
[21:32:26] The Squirrel // Erik: Basically, the whole Higher Council is second in command as our faction has decided that there will be no higher-ranking councilors or any PCs more powerful than the council. But maybe one of the leaders of our three main forces? There are the Purifier Supreme (who is basically the Lightsider leader), Head Scholar (who leads the Darksider people), and Director of EDO (who is our spy-people's leader). None of these positions have been granted to anybody yet, but...
[21:33:12] Sir G the Big: Just pick a councilor in that case
[21:34:21] The Squirrel // Erik: OK. I'll see what we can do.
[21:36:03] The Squirrel // Erik: We have our own little check-in at the moment to see who is actually active in our faction so I can't tell you at the moment who's going to be taking what position, but I'll keep you updated if we decide these things.
[21:38:27] Sir G the Big: Sounds good
[21:38:37] Sir G the Big: Looks like we've got the terms squared away
[21:38:51] The Squirrel // Erik: Indeed.

Sir G the Big - Isley Verd
The Squirrel // Erik - Maria Zambrano

So. I would love to hear your opinion about it. We have already talked about these things months ago, but now I and Isley decided to finally make it come to life.

Not everything we spoke in the chat is strictly decided, but can be changed!

You may not like it, but you will later on. Trust me, I've been there and done that.

[member="Maria Zambrano"]
Very good amendment and proposal. I'll offer myself to be that representative to the Templar Council if you so desire.

The CIS now has us in the palm of their hand, to my surprise, exactly how Mark always said Guy and the CIS would do things because he truly believes RRDI to be a puppet of his. That said, if you look at the patterns of integration, it does allow the CIS the upper hand in most matters.

I am not against it. I merely wanted to point out the implications and consequences of tying knots too tight.

Just a little reminder: we won't be gone or anything. Our faction stays like it is, but there will be some more regulations and some more advantages for us. We would be able to (on a degree) feel like a Major Faction while being still a Minor. Yes, we could have our own Dominions if we discuss things with Isley Verd (I'm using formalities). While only the people who are also members of CIS would be able to participate and the planet would not be ours, we would have the feel of a Major Faction.

But there wouldn't be Major Drama. :)P)

I do understand how you all feel. I, too, feel kind of strange about it when I start thinking about all the bad things, but then I remind to myself: we will be a part of them, but at the same time, we will be independent.

Since as I remember, most of the people weren't too against it the last time, I think we would be ready for the treaty thread. :)

Join them.

The advantages heavily outweigh the bad parts. and I still have some contacts within the Fringe that I could exploit since I will be leaving the Sith side of my story. Found out I have way to many sith Characters doing bad things. ;) so if push comes to shove, I think I could get us a home with the Fringe for a short time and to fight back the CIS if poodoo hits the fan.

Yes, but they are a tyrannical major power. CIS has basically stood still, doing nothing to become more powerful. But One Sith started out with Invasions, so I would say ICly, they are not the people we should join.

Well, there's the Protectorate.

They took out the planet and killed my Master. I tried to help them get the planet securely, but found out that they wanted to be left alone at the last minute. I was branded a traitor by my own people and am still considered an outcast. Omega may be sounding all great, but behind it, they are spread thin. not the best choice of people to work with.

The closest we could get is Fringe, Moross Crusade, CIS, or none at all. Both of the Sith Factions only care about power, We are too dark for Republic, and the Protectorate slowly suffocates you with Mercs, and assassins.

Good luck!

I would never support joining the New Order, so that's not a possibility. The One Sith is too Sith-y, something the CoS doesn't support.

Protectorate is too militaristic. Fringe may be a great option, but CIS is a bit more helpful, at least it seems to be. Moross may be considerable, too, because of their religious concept. Republic is truly out of reach, Mandalorians should never be considered. The Horde is something Purifiers would like to get rid of.

So like Morna said, it would be either Fringe, CIS, Moross or nothing. And since CIS' leader presented the idea to me a long time ago, I wholeheartedly support that. And as we will be having a peace treaty with Fringe, I see no problem. We'll be members of CIS, but also have a friendly relationship with the the other Confederacy.

Could anybody enlighten me about the current situation in CIS? I have heard there is some drama going on there, but what exactly happened?

By the way, I have seriously started doubting our treaty with the Confederacy with all these Knights Obsidian they now have and everything. Moross and Fringe seem to be better options now.

Guy pretty much went behind some people's back and tried to take over the Horde, then everybody turned against each other.

Decided. I don't want CoS to be involved in such dramas now. We want to be a cool faction without worrying about OOC things, after all. The treaty is denied by me. I would say we stay completely independent for a while and then discuss things again.

Thank you, [member="Lord Eclipsion"], for explaining what happened. :)

[member="Ashe the Reaper"], [member="Morna Imura"], what are your decisions?

[member="Maria Natalja"],
As with the recent drama, I say that we stay independent for now, But still work with them and try to get them to like us more. That way we can work together on a better basis. Instead of joining them, I would say we would merely work with them.

I second this.

It was a bit more than that, Maria, but I won't air any of Guy or the CIS' dirty laundry here. Let's just say karma had a way of pulling out all his dirty little secrets at once. Not just the Horde part.

Wait, then really... what happened? I left the faction because of the Knights Obsidian thing, but seems like there was something more to leave for.

So. The proposal has been denied, but we will work together with the CIS and aid them where needed. Personally, I won't start another treaty thread... They have a tendency to be abandoned by the other player... >.> I believe we could have an unofficial friendly, peaceful relationship. Until the CIS gets better.

Or if we really want to join somebody, there are some chances, like already mentioned, and we could discuss them. But for a while, we will be independent.

Thank you for your input!

After reviewing some of the stuff over there, I'll give you a PM.
