Proposition of a Lifetime

Lucius sat in an empty hangar of an abandoned base on Csilla. No one had been in it for years when Lucius found it 5 years ago. He assumed it had been abandoned back during the plague, and no one ever thought to return to it. Lucius had been living out of the base since he discovered it, and over time, he had cleared out the old Chiss junk and sold it for a quick buck. The entire base was now empty except for Lucius’ ship. It had ideal location being on top of a mountain, only accessible via landing. Lucius sat shooting the targets he had painted on the walls. His aim was getting precise. Lucius fired at the four targets and hit each one dead center. His eye enhancements had increased his accuracy 10 fold. He continued shooting the targets, waiting for the arrival of [member="Brax Hadshill"] hoping that he’d have [member="Madalyn Salvari"] along with him. He hoped that she would not be to upset as to where she would not listen to his proposition.
It’s not every day someone offers you an opportunity to be on the ground floor of a new faction
Lucius double checked to make sure he had sent Brax the coordinates. After their meeting Lucius felt that maybe having a quick shooter for an ally wouldn’t be so bad. Of course he doubted that Brax would agree to personal guard duty. Then again if things worked out with Madalyn, then Lucius could offer Brax more than just a weekly salary. He could offer him entire planets. Lucius was getting ahead of himself. Before he was going to do anything, he had to talk to the girl. He looked up at the sky, knowing waiting for their arrival.

Brax lowered his ship into view of the hangar, but didn't land just yet. He then hailed [member="Lucius Umbrend"] over his comms.
"I've got a package here for you,"
He began.
"It goes by the name of [member="Madalyn Salvari"]."

Lucius sat up from his chair
He dashed out of the main room out to the landing platform
He saw the sip and smirked
I love it when things come together
He stood back and waited for the ship to touchdown
It all comes down to this

[member="Brax Hadshill"] [member="Madalyn Salvari"]

Brax was waiting in front of his ship, and had [member="Madalyn Salvari"] in cuffs next to him.
"Well?" He yelled across the landing pad to [member="Lucius Umbrend"]
"You have my credits or am I going to have to find another buyer?"

Lucius walked up to [member="Brax Hadshill"] and [member="Madalyn Salvari"]
"I've got your money, and I'm ready to wire it over, but let me check to make sure you held up your end of the bargain."
He examined the girl
she was easily a foot shorter than the two men. She didn't have any marks on her.
Speaking to the girl as softly as he could "Did he hurt you?"

Madalyn gets lead down the ramp and watches a man approach her. He was much taller than she was, but to be expected really, he had white hair and gold eyes... A rare combination, she thought.
She looked at her surroundings. She was in what appeared to be an abandoned base. The hanger door was open, and you could see white, everywhere. Hmm... Is this Hoth?
As she observes her surroundings though, the man looks at her and asks her if she was hurt. Irritated she responds:
"Did I get hurt? Oh yeah, not at all. Except for the fact that I got kidnapped in my sleep, unacknowledged on the ship, and just somehow get taken to a planet that I wasn't told the name of, I'm just fine and dandy! How about yourself?"

"I'm doing fine actually. Space travel is so much more relaxing when you have good music drowning out the sounds of your cargo."
Brax remarked as he he took this opportunity to size up the two in front of him.
The man is obviously some kind of soldier, or an ex-merc, or something along those lines.
The woman has probably never touched a blaster in her life.
He paused for a moment.
I could take them both in a fight.
[member="Lucius Umbrend"] [member="Madalyn Salvari"]

Lucius nodded at [member="Brax Hadshill"]
"The money auto sent wired to you right about now, your services are no longer needed. Though if you stick around i may have another offer for you."
He turned back to the girl, she looked at him like he did at republic senators.
"I'm sorry for the way you were brought here. If there was any other way i would've. if its any consolation, the planet you are on currently is called Csilla. I imagine working under a senator you know a lot about it."
He turned to Brax and saw him eyeing the place like a dog about to strike
"Mr. Hadshill, if you're thinking of attacking me or this pretty lady, i hope you know that automated turrets would take you down before you could finish me. Also, if i die you could lose out on a very large sum of money and a good amount of power."
He turned back to the girl
"Now, i assume you want to know why i brought you here. Its simple, i need you're help, and we both have common interests. I think together you and i could make a difference. I will not force you to listen, if you don't want to hear what I have to say, that is acceptable, i will escort you home. But I'm telling you now, you'd regret it every day for the rest your life."
He pulled out his side arm and shot the cuffs off the [member="Madalyn Salvari"]. He gestured towards the hangar door, where a table with three chairs were set up.
"As I said Mr. Hadshill, you're welcome to join us."

Madalyn listens to what Lucius says to Brax, and watches him turn towards her.
He said she was on the planet Csilla. That's the home planet of the Chiss. There's a lot of history behind it, but now it's just a fraction of what it used to be.
She listens to what else the man has to say. From what she could get, it appears that the man had many assets at his disposal, and somehow knows a bit about her. He seems to know that she wants to do something about the galaxy if they have 'common interests'. Since she's so far from home anyways, and he just took her hand cuffs off, she decides to go with it. There's obviously a bigger reason for this instead of a bounty with a drama.
She follows the man towards the hanger door and takes a seat in one of the chairs.
"Why don't you begin with telling me who you are."

[member="Lucius Umbrend"],[member="Brax Hadshill"]

Did he just threaten me with auto-turrets? Has he never seen a D5 Mantis in action? Just who is this guy?
He scrutinized [member="Lucius Umbrend"]'s every detail, trying to place how sane he was.
And what was that? A reunion of some kind? you hire chauffeurs for that, not bounty hunters.
He watches [member="Madalyn Salvari"] sit across from Lucius.
And what's her deal? She wasn't even guarded. Can't be worth that much.
Brax walks towards the seating arrangements.
But credits are credits, and this guy claims to have more, so...
"So what's the job you want this time? Assassination? Another kidnapping? I mean handcuffs are expensive, and you just shot my best pair, I need to make a living out here in this big, bad, galaxy of ours."

Lucius withheld a chuckle, he wasn't sure if the bounty hunter genuinely believed the auto turrets were turned on or he was legitimately interested. He decided not to overthink it.
He turned to the girl who sat across from him. He examined her and it hit him just how small she seemed.
"My name is Lucius, I was born here on Csilla and have lived here most of my life. This structure is my current home, but has the potential to be a lot more. I brought you here with the assistance of Mr. Hadshill for one very simple reason. I want change in the galaxy. I know enough about your history to know you want the same. My friends in the republic told me of your diplomatic prowess and that is more important than anything else you'll ever own."
He turned to [member="Brax Hadshill"]
"The short version of this conversation, I plan on starting a new group, one that will allow freedom for all. No more will the small be stepped on by the weak. Two powers brought together to protect peoples rights and well being."
He turned back to [member="Madalyn Salvari"]
"You stand with me, you dislike the republic, or you would not have left the republic; and you certainly don't like the sith, or we would not be having this conversation. I brought you here to help me bring freedom to the galaxy. You will not be under me, you will be my equal and together we could change things for everyone."
He stood, and looked at Brax
"I cannot promise you anything other than a steady supply of credits and some well trained men to assist you in whatever you need. If this does not sound appealing to you, you are free to go with the credits, and I'll even throw you an extra five thousand." He looked back and fourth between them. "I realize this is a big proposition and none of it is a guarantee to work out, the decisions are yours to make."

Unbelievable. This man was proposing almost the impossible. Where in the galaxy would he have to resource to do something like this? How would this even start?

"Well, first off.... I don't dislike the Republic. I admire their ideals, and if it weren't for it's current... Body, I wouldn't have left. But yes I believe that the Republic has become corrupt. I can't even fathom working with the Sith yeah. Secondly, I just see ONE giant problem... You sound like you're all talk. How do you plan to get resources? How do you plan to enact this? How do you plan to inspire people? Any little boy can dream up a way to save the galaxy y'know."

[member="Lucius Umbrend"], [member="Brax Hadshill"]

Brax was scanning the hangar more thoroughly now.
I bet those auto-turrets aren't even active.
He stared at [member="Lucius Umbrend"] for a moment, incredulous at what he just said.
Did he say... Freedom of the galaxy?
Brax chuckled.
He did! Oh this guy is insane!
The chuckling stopped.
Insane and rich.
Brax chuckled again.
"Alright. Alright let's say I play along with this joke of yours, I run errands for you, you pay me, maybe give me a womp rat or two to command, and you go back to your asylum after we create this 'free galaxy', and I've lost time serving a madman. Where does this get me? What does this get me? I'm a bounty hunter! I haven't played pretend since I was a child!"
[member="Madalyn Salvari"]

"i realize that this sounds outrageous, and i understand that."
Lucius made a mental note: Don't open with the big plan that's super risky
"Well, i have a fair amount of capital to start this new group, as well as this large facility to start off with. As for resources, the minerals in Csilla are utterly untouched thanks to the Gulag plague, no major faction has been here in over 400 years."
He decided to let the little boy comment slide and turned back to [member="Brax Hadshill"]
"This isn't, we could do this right here, right now, and you would get in on the ground floor. As far as I'm aware, if the republic catches you, that's an instant death sentence, Work with us, and you'll be more powerful than you'll ever be as a bounty hunter."
he was standing now
"Csilla will act as our home planet and we will work from here to expand our reaches. We could do great things." He made eye contact with Madalyn, "We could outlaw slavery so no child will ever be enslaved again." He wasn't sure if the rumors of her being a slave we're true, but he needed to convince her.
"You ask me how i plan to inspire people [member="Madalyn Salvari"]. Well thats why i paid quite a few credits to have you brought here. You would be the voice for the people. you would use your gift of speech to have people join us, and when they do, they'll see how much better things will be."
He looked at brax
"I cannot promise you anything other than a shot at the most powerful bounty hunter in the galaxy and quite a few credits."

Brax shook his head and turned around.
"Well if you're serious about this,"
He opened his ship and headed towards it.
"You'll find me on the net, and you'll have a price and a task in mind. So until this gets ridiculous, I'll play along."
Before he disappeared into his ship, Brax pulled out his pistol, shot straight up in the air, and watched the auto-turrets.
I knew it!
He thought when the turrets sat idle.
He then boarded his ship and took off, curious about what bounties the debatably sane [member="Lucius Umbrend"] had in store for him.

[member="Madalyn Salvari"]

"Well, that leaves you and me. I know this is a lot to take in." He stared directly at [member="Madalyn Salvari"]
"I cant make it any more of a sale. I'm offering you flat out, the opportunity to build a something that could last longer than either of us will see."
Lucius slid a paper across the table. along the top it read:
"The Sovereign Conglomerate"
That paper will be the document in which we can design the government for the people. If you want to, help me write the first steps. If you truly think i am insane, than my ship is right there, and i can have you home before your parents even notice you're gone."

Madalyn looks to Lucius.
"First off, don't treat me like a child and mention my parents. I don't need their protection. But now that we have that of the way... If there's comfort, quarters, necessities, etc for me here to live well, then I'm willing to try this out. What are your ideas for this group? Do you have a plan for the remaining Chiss?"

What Lucius doesn't know though, is that Madalyn was almost depressed because she felt hopeless. Despite the fact that this man seemed crazy ambitious... ambitious is what gets you places. This could be her chance.
She looks at Lucius hopefully.

Lucius smiled "I think the proper arrangements can be made to accommodate you."
The next twelve hours are filled with debate and discussion as Lucius and Madalyn discuss how this new faction would work.
It is now dark outside when Lucius sits back in his chair, staring at the now multi page document, containing every detail from rights to government style and everything in-between
"All that is left is our signatures"
Lucius grabs one last piece of paper and writes his signature and passes the document to [member="Madalyn Salvari"]
He smiles, She has no idea the difference she just made.

Madalyn takes the paper and signs it, and hands it back to him. The man had just planned a government that would work, even for her...
"Well, I guess that's it.. What are we going to do now?"

Here goes I guess...
