Private Protecting the Raiders

Gwenipa was wearing her full armour, with a tattered scarf wrapped around her and used as a hood. She figured it would be a solid way to keep out the sand and prevent the heat from burning her pale blue skin. Her cybernetic eye shown pale blue as it scanned the area. There was a meeting point that she had agreed to, being on Korriban was not her first choice in fact the Chiss would have rather seen the world decimated than be stuck on this Sith world but a job was paying a decent amount for a protection gig. Money was not something she could refuse anymore, her job was gone with her family and home world. Now, she was stuck with a very specific number of skills and unsure what to do bar seeking revenge on the whole of the Brotherhood of the Maw. Unfortunately seeking revenge on an entire faction was tricky and expensive work so she had to find other means of work while she was biding her time. Looking around, her fists tightened as she thought about the vengeance she was aiming to bring. Others had started wars with the Maw but none would seek out the utter annihilation that she wanted. She wanted to watch each one of them suffer at her hands.

Moving to the location, Gwenipa breathed out, her anger, her rage and desperation for revenge would have to wait. It would not be long and since she was helping raiders loot the remains of the Sith Empire and the Sith tombs on Korriban, she felt it was a step towards the end goal in her mind. Reaching that final point. Attached to her back was her rifle and holstered on either side of her hips was her blaster pistols. Pulling the hood back, she ruffled with her short crimson hair, feeling some sand blow away. She sighed, it was likely everywhere and she would have to spend at least a full day cleaning her armour to ensure that it was appropriately tidy for future missions. She wasn't impressed by the location, seemed to be one guy, a Duros by the look of him and he was running around sorting out his equipment.

"Guessing no protection has come yet like you requested, huh." Gwenipa spoke, her voice was a little deep for a woman but it fitted with her look as she stared at the Duros who looked very startled and frightened.

"Please! I have nothing yet! Not even started!" He cried in fear, Gwenipa smirked, fool thought she was here to steal from him.

Shaking her head, she poured herself a drink, "I'm here to be your protection fool, just didn't realise I would be the first." Sipping the drink, she sighed, hoping this would be an easy gig for money. She had plans for a new cybernetic eye but it would be very costly.

"Oh, phew. Yeah, just you and someone else is meant to come I believe." Duros mentioned, Gwenipa nodded her head and kept an eye out as the Duros moved around.

Koriban, once if he'd have been coming here it would have been for a battle. But now, the Sith empire was shattered. He'd get to see its remnants. A shame he wasn't integral to its downfall. He had taken a job as protection for a Duros. Didn't really matter too much what, he wanted protection, Kovhorn was willing to help provide that. He landed his ship the Strill somewhere as safe as he could find, but close to the meeting point, and left its stealth systems and security measures on when he left. He was adorned in a fairly heavy set of beskargam, and jogged most of the way to the meeting location.

As he approached he saw the Duros, as well as another already present. He approached the two, "Employer." he said simply, summing up his position in things shortly, "Nox Kovhorn. Ready when you are." that was all that he felt was needed for introducing himself to the duros. He was just another job. There wasn't really much to be said.

He gave a nod to Gwenipa, "Assume you're another guard." he looked at her a little harder, the eyes were wrong but they looked cybernetic. Her skin was a bit light but it was slightly blue, "Chiss, Pantoran, Wroonian?" he prompted. Wouldn't really judge if she didn't want to answer, or if she was bothered. But he also wasn't bothered by asking. Not that, under the armor, it could be sun. But his pale skin, eyes, and hair, did likely sign him off as arkanian.

As Gwenipa sat and waited, she saw a Mandalorian approach. He was wearing a heavy set of beskar, it was already having her mind go through different ways to combat the armour. Shooting the armour would be impossible, solid beskar would just reflect the blaster fire off it's smooth surface and not harm the Mando at all. It would have to be melee fighting and using her daggers but that wasn't ideal since he was a big guy with a lot of weight behind the possible hits so Gwenipa would have to be quicker, light on her feet and go for quick, shallow cuts to bring him down. It wasn't perfect since there was a lot of risk but as the Mando approached, she was confident in her chances to take him down. Helped that she had learnt a lot about Mandalorians from past missions and her own wishes to learn their combat styles.

He called out to the Duros, who jumped in fright before letting out a sigh of relief and waving, seemed that Gwenipa didn't have to fight the gun which was a little disappointing but she knew that it was good to have this one on her side rather than against her. Duros nodded his head, "I am Jagguay, just need a couple of maps and then I am ready. This is going to be a great find!" He was clutching tools and maps like a madman as he wandered over to the entrance of the tomb.

Gwenipa's cold gaze fixed upon the Mandalorian, she had a patch over where her second eye should be and just one eye that glowed in a way that was not natural. When he listed off the species she could be based on her appearance, she laughed. "Well, that would be telling. Come Mandalorian, we have a job to do. Can't be stuck gossiping." Her seriousness was an indicator of being Chiss, focused on the job at hand.

His methods of combat were both very orthodox, and not. As one might expect, he was reliant on heavy hitting. However, there was a particular method of fighting in armor like his that mattered quite a great deal. It required him to know his armor well, know where the weak points were, what angles, what did it take to close them or re-angle them. Instead of trying to just dodge things, he just had to re-allign his body for the more guarded parts to be hit. Against blasterfire this was rarely an issue anyway, it was best used against lightsabers or blades. Or on occassion, small blasters used by close ranged combatants. He did once make use of lighter armor, then he got himself nearly torn in half. He felt this was the better option of the two in the future. And of course it suggested use of heavier or faster weaponry, the blaster in his hands was of course both. It had power and repetition, it was weighty, but it definitely got the job done. The blasters were often good at dealing with a range of enemies, and the particle shotgun also helped with the precision difficulties of a high speed opponent. The beskad was the only thing that might be more at advantage if he were faster, but due to his armor it also meant he had less times where he might be forced to stop an attack. Not that he judged anyone for choosing light equipment, he was well aware of how problematic heavy armor could be.

He raised an unseen brow at the Duros reaction to his approach. Not a very attentive being was he? His excitement didn't really interest the Arkanian, but it was his occupation. He could do what he wanted, and he was paying well. Nox began to walk as he heard her response and grunted in aknowledgement. Yeah, if he had to guess it'd be chiss. Wasn't a certain necessarily, but it was a good guess he figured.

Approaching the Duros he spoke, "Should you be going first?" he prompted. Of the group, if there was a trap that they couldn't detect, he figured he had the best chance of surviving it. He did expect he was more experienced than most, but mostly this expectation was due to his armor rather than what he might assume Gwenipa's abilities might be. One must be careful assuming the skill of the enemy. Or the ally.

Looking around the entrance of the tomb, Gwenipa could feel the anger burning inside her, she wanted to desecrate this tomb, she wanted to destroy them all. The Sith here might not have created the Maw directly but they were part of the problem and the Maw had successfully repelled the Ashlan Crusade from this world. Clearly wanting to keep Korriban safe. That meant she wanted it gone in retaliation for Chiss. Taking a deep breath, as she stepped forward into the tomb, letting the other two enter first. Crossing this line was of immense importance to Gwenipa as it was her first step into defeating the Maw. Might seem minor to others but it was significant to her.

The Duros turned to Nox and nodded his head, "Oh yes, I must be first. Traps are prominent and you might trigger them with a reckless step or rushing around to check everywhere. We need to tread carefully and ensure the artefacts are not destroyed in needless gunfire!" Gwenipa rolled her eyes, she knew this Duros was looking down at them, thinking they would just wander straight into danger but the truth was this was a Sith tomb. There would be dangers that weren't just simple traps or puzzles. There were going to be monsters, beasts that had intentions of killing prey.

However, she remained silent, pushing the matter would only trigger the Duros and he would likely threaten to hold back their payment if they tried to actually do a decent job. This guy was likely just wanting them to ensure no one came from behind to steal from him instead of the dangers that were thwart with dangers.

He grunted at the duros reaction. About as twitchy as can be, and expects me to be the one with 'needless gunfire.' He thought. But he let the man go first. If he wanted to get himself killed for this that was his business. Nox didn't agree to override his decisions to keep him safe. So Nox stayed back, he could see behind him thanks to the 360º view his HUD gave him. So he could just walk along, weapon held but pointed down as they continued.

He didn't likely have quite the same reaction as Gwenipa. There a reaction certainly. No doubt, destroying the whole place would have been perfectly acceptable. However, getting paid to steal from the once powerful sith was quite enough. He hated them, no doubt on that, and there was little that could dissuade him from going on the offensive if he ever saw one. But locations, those changed hands, they always had. Mandalore had risen and fallen time and again, he might still value it more than most planets, but not so much as some Mandalorians did. He saw the same of Korriban. The sith did seem to congregate to it, but it wasn't going to stop them from existing if they destroyed it all.

It was difficult to keep pointing the mistakes that the Duros was making but Gwenipa remained stoic and silent as she wandered around the tomb of this ancient Sith Lord whose name she never even bothered to learn. Looking around, she couldn't help but admire some of the art and culture on display, while the Maw were brutes and just sought destruction and death, the Sith of old were very much a different style of being. They had culture, history and while some saw them as just pure evil, from what Gwenipa learned it was more complex than that. She touched different parts of the walls and art, curious why the Duros wasn't interested in this stuff, was it just things of value he wanted? What knowledge he would gain from that? What advantages in combat would he learn from credits?

It was complex, she wanted to burn all remnants of the Sith for the Maw's actions but she couldn't help but want to learn more about the Sith of old either. She tapped her foot, a little impatient with the Duros as he went around muttering about trying to find what little value was left. Raiders for centuries had been looting these sites so what made him so sure there was something they missed? Was there something guarding a particularly valuable piece that most either perished against or avoided?

Moving over to the Mandalorian, she nodded over to the Duros who was busy scuttling about, "so, what do you think he is hunting for?"

He watched the duros as he scuttled along. Kovhorn had far less care about any of these walls, he wasn't sure what he'd do about this place after this was all over. He definitely considered trying to blow it up. Just to spite whatever sith would come for it. But right now he needed to pay attention to the job. Wouldn't make much difference if the duros tripped something and got them all crushed or something.

The woman moved closer and asked about the duros objectives. Her took a breath in thinking, speaking quietly in his response, "Lots of options. Heard some Sith artifacts may be useful even to regular people, not that I find that wise. Maybe he finds himself a historian after a long lost artifact, or the body or weapon of an ancient sith. He'd probably get a lot of renown for that in that community." A cold chuckle came from him, "Or, maybe he's secretly a Sith and won't be around much longer." Hatred was palpable in his voice, quiet though it may be. Though it was said with little belief in the statmeent.

He shrugged,
"I couldn't really say though, don't know him or this place well enough for that. He's not exactly who I'd normally look for in an employer."

He was curious as well, but they'd find out sooner or later he imagined. Unless the duros got himself killed. "Prefer mercenary work over this sort of thing. You typically work as a bodyguard?" some fairly casual talk. He didn't turn his head any when speaking to her. He was still focused on ensuring the duros didn't get himself killed. But wandering in the dark didn't exactly draw that much attention.
