Project #7 was an engineering elective that
Micah tol Powl
undertook while at the Korriban Academy, to design a speeder. Being that the Cathar didn't know how to pilot and was very disinterested in learning, the first thing he did was integrate a pilot droid into the design. The remainder of the project more or less became bits and pieces that he built-on from there. He opted for a unibody chassis made of alusteel, which drew criticism from some of his professors and classmates. He also incorporated both over terrain and repulsorlift modes of operating, largely due to a desire to invoke a sense of retro futurism in the design. The canopy was entirely enclosed, with the pilot and passengers accessing through gull-wing doors. The pilot controls were on the left side of the vehicle. The interior only had seating for two, ostensibly a pilot and passenger. Micah, himself, always rode in the passenger seat, even when the speeder was driving itself.All in all, it became more or less a collection of ideas that didn't really go together, but it got him a passing grade for the class and (more importantly) it gets him from Point A to Point B.
Naamino Zuukamano
was more excited about it than he was. The Zabrak was a frequent pilot who insisted on taking the controls himself. This also led to Micah having to repair or take a few dents out of the prototype.
