Purebloods - How endangered are we?

Purebloods haven't been all that common ever since the Great Galactic War, thousands of years ago. But even then, I still find it strange how I've only met one other Pureblood, so far. Why do so few people want to play Purebloods?

I think it's perhaps because of their genocide at the hands of the Old Republic, people tend to avoid stuff that don't show up consistently in canon.

Plus most people make humans or near-humans rather than "alien" species, as they are the most heavily portrayed in films and other media.

Genocides aren't always successful. History has proven that quite often. But, I do see your point... But, this takes place damn near 5k years after said genocidal times. Who says that some unknown Sith Lord(s) didn't decide to resurrect them with alchemy and DNA splicing 'n' stuff. Splicing the DNA of dead Purebloods with modern humans who have noticeable Sith blood in them, and stuff.

I don't think anyone has, I think it's a matter of it requiring someone to actually write such an event occurring for such to happen (be it backstory or threading), and nobody has thought of it or done it. If they have, maybe nobody is aware of it.

My previous character was apprenticed to a Sith pureblood, one Darth Mierin, maybe I'll make my next MC a pureblood.

I think this probably best answers the question. Even in my own experiences at work and stuff most people only know what was in the movies in terms of species. People stick to what they know. It doesn't help it is more difficult to find a good Pureblood image to use than the thousands of random actors and actresses for human characters.

Lol all I am saying is not everybody ventures outside of the now 7 movies that exist. I mean without Darth Maul in the prequel trilogy how many Zabrak would there be floating around?

You do, indeed, have a point... But still, without the extended universe, I don't Star Wars would be as famous is it is. I mean, it'll be famous and awesome no matter what... But in my eyes, the Legends help make Star Wars feel more alive, you know? Also... Purebloods have natural power, and power is sexy ^_^

Right now, Sith Space is currently the safest place for the proud Shahku Battleship, it's mostly known that they aren't hiding and have publicized themselves to the Sith, seeking sanctuary until they find their home. You can dock with the ship at any time. Currently I'm in too much of a bind, mostly LOA due to my current situation, to start anything until it is over. I can throw posts, here and there, when I get access, though.

Oh I agree. I like the expanded universe stuff infinitely more than most of what was in the movies.
