The Winter Winds always blew North.
There were something on Vandor, some things in the Galaxy, that were ever-present constants. The ebb and flow of the Force. The ebb and flow between peace, and conflict. There were those who chose to respond to that ebb and flow by trying to control it, to throttle it, reign it in, and deem it theirs to command. Such were the ways of those collectively termed as 'Dark Siders'; but those who followed a different path, of trusting in the Force to right wrong and straying from violence, instead looking to make peace and conciliation wherever possible, they were those who followed the Light.
The Knights Obsidian was unique among the Force Using sects of the galaxy in that they did not prescribe to one ideology or belief when it came to the usage and practice of the Force. While other religions adhered to their dogma to the point of inciting needless, and in many cases hypocritical conflict, the Knights Obsidian united those of different faiths, promising tolerance so long as you used your powers towards the common defense and service of the Confederacy. Yet in this microcosm of Force Users, they had almost organically been divided by the traditional lines of Light, Dark, and in between. Some decried this as opposite towards the goal of the Knights Obsidian, while others -- including Beric Layne -- instead saw polarization as a source for Mastery and enlightenment. Let not those who wished to only practice the Light be forced to use the Dark, and vice versa. And should some side of the Force seek them out, then it would; and any attempts to thwart such fate would ultimately be wasted effort.
In the aftermath of the Eye, the numbers of those who served in the Knights Obsidian had been reduced to a fraction of a percent of their former strength, so great had the cataclysm been. And in that aftermath, one Obsidian Lord -- Beric Layne, both Lord of Frosthall and the Knights Obsidian -- had decided to issue a call to those remaining who adhered to the Light to gather on Frosthall, to review their numbers and to reaffirm their committment towards the peace and defense of the Confederacy.
And perhaps some drinking, good hard-brewed Vandorian ale for all except his apprentice -- for Millu was still on probation after the Vettr Nacht incident.
