Purpose Among the Force

The Lecture Room

The Lecture Room looks like a good place to train today. Jedi Knight Tempest Yore had recently met a young Padawan [member=Natalia Kess] during her induction among the Jedi of the Dominion. She thought the young girl of perfect age to perfect her Core skills, and begin to expand her knowledge of the Force, introducing Sense abilities into the mix. It would not surprise Tempest to learn that Natalia already knows how to perform some of these skills, yet maybe only hasn't developed an awareness that she has already utilized them during her lifetime. Due to Natalia's young age, Tempest felt it best to offer her compete attention during a private session. She reserved a block of time for training, but that does not guarantee there will not be any interruptions.

Donning the customary Jedi robe, but of pale blue and white, Tempest stood in the center of the open area of the room and got right down to business. She bowed towards the Padawan to begin the session and then cast a smile her way.

"The first thing I would like to show you is how to utilize Force Sight. This skill is important so that you can now have concrete evidence to strengthen your belief in the Force as Dogma describes it. It is not just some abstract energy we merely believe in. Force Sight provides proof that the Force does in fact exist. It has a fabric, which can be seen as much as intuitively sensed. You will see how Jedi manipulate it to perform a skill. It will visually appear calm and repetitive, rhythmic. Some day you will be able to see how a Darksider corrupts its natural state. They break down and destroy the naturally smooth webbings of the Force and manipulate it to contort it into a chaotic formation."

Tempest emanated a sense of peacefulness. "Calm your mind. When you are ready, close your eyes," she guided, her voice patient and melodic.

"Expand your senses to feel for the peace of the Light of the Force. It exists in and around everything, webbed throughout everything we know to be in existence. It also fills the vast void of space. It links us all together throughout the Universe. Just as one event often suffers ripples of effects upon things surrounding it, the Force also allows us to know when something is not right far off in the distance. It lends us instinct, gives us premonitions, calls us to action as Jedi. For now, let us simply look upon it within this very room."

Tempest closed her eyes as well, as she stood facing the Padawan. "Let go of your physical barriers. Imagine a vast spider's web settling across the interior of the entire room. Expand your mind to allow for numbering every line, every crossing intersection. See the energy as it glistens, breathes, like living dew drops ricocheting back and forth between every individual segment. It reaches across the room, from corner to corner, edge to edge. Now allow that image to replicate layer upon layer, top to bottom, every inch intertwined."

The Knight reached out across the distance between herself and Natalia, and she lent the assistance of her ability to guide her student in achieving her goal, to first witness the energy of the Force throughout the room. When she felt the instinct that Natalia was relaxed and focussed enough to see through the Force, she encouraged, "Open your eyes and see the living Force which surrounds us."

As Natalia entered the dimly lit room that was the lecture hall a blue glow was cast over the young padawan, she would have only recently arrived on world. When she met the Jedi knight there was a sort of comfort she felt in her presence, the young girl was still adjusting to her life away from her family and most of all her twin sister.

The girls had been together since they were born, they may be mean to each other at points but they were the only ones who could be mean to each other, should someone try to pick on either one of them who was not the other one it was on. They were at times polar opposites, Natalia had a tendency to be more soft skinned and more likely to get hurt whereas Anasztazia had the tendency to be very able to handle herself.

Natalia would look at the knight and as she was instructed to do so she would clear her mind and close her eyes. She would slowly begin to imagine all she was told to.

SHe would then slowly open her eyes and behold all that was the living force that was around them. She had never been very good with the force, she was mostly very talented with the saber so this was a whole new thing to her

Tempest remembered the look of wonder she herself bore the first time she saw the Force ebb and flow all around and through everything, including herself.

"Excellent," she whispered. "Hold that now."

Tempest took a few steps back and facing Natalia began to move the Force. She drew the Force towards herself and internally. She would do this so Natalia could see the physical manifestation of how Jedi resonate with the Force. Tempest slowly built up the energy. She then reached out to the side and pushed the energy outward and over the empty chairs. The energy wave which could be only felt before should the Push be cast your way, can now be witnessed cascading over the chair.

"Next, try to extend your sense past the physical boundaries of this room, and view the Force for as far as you can beyond. It will take some concentration to make your mind let go of its expectations and break through this visual barrier." This next step is more challenging, but the skill is number one in her mind.

"Using Force Sight you will be able to locate Jedi nearby through the Force. You will be able to identify Sith, but only those who are not utilizing Stealth. People with sinister intentions, sickness, raging destructive fire, these things will cause the Force to jump and bend chaotically without rhythmic formation."

The young girl would stay there maintaining her focus, she was exasperated by the sight of what she saw. She would continue to hold her focus as the woman began to move the force, she could see it through the force it would amaze the young girl. As the chairs were pushed over she would see it before it hit and she would gasp.

She would then expand her mind beyond the physical boundaries seeing the temple cloaked in blinding light of the Jedi force sensitive. She would be amazed at what she saw.

SHe would then attempt to locate the Jedi nearby this was rather difficult for the young girl. She tried for well over five minutes before actually accomplishing this

Tempest smiled as her student managed to achieve good results. "You can close your eyes again when you are ready to stop. Just drop your focus on the Force and think about how things appear normally. Tell me when you are ready to try something new."

The Knight watched her student progress from stage to stage. Natalia would be the first Padawan she ever taught, and she wants to assure she doesn't miss a thing.

"Intuition and luck are also ways we connect our mind to the Force. There is Mind Trick for example. What would you like to learn next? How are you with Telekinetic Force Powers? I am sure you discovered all these things naturally just growing up." Typically these skills lead others to an awareness that a young child is force sensitive.

"Show me what you can do already, and we can see how we may improve your skills."
