Inanna Harth
Jedi Knight
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
- Intent: Sub an NPC for future RP.
- Role: An adopted member of Clan Hoole and an escaped Sithspawn/Sith Empire defector.
- Permissions: N/A
- Links:
- Age: Early thirties
- Force Sensitivity: Non-Force User
- Species: Mesinis’Kaita (Sith Changeling)
- Appearance: Pygar is a Sithspawn, but does not bear the taint of the Dark Side. His natural form is a frail-looking humanoid male with pale hair and milky white eyes. He has the ability to shapeshift within certain limits, allowing him to alter his facial features, coloring, and even adjust his height a little, although he cannot change his overall mass. The shapeshifting process is a painful one, and he will revert back to his natural form when he sleeps or if he is rendered unconscious. Intense and/or sudden pain can cause his appearance to "flicker". He lost his right eye during his escape from the Sith Empire, which has since been replaced by a cybernetic eyeball with changeable iris colors.
- Name: Pygar Hoole
- Loyalties: Clan Hoole
- Wealth: Not much. He lives off of the money the Hooles give him, or cash he makes from working odd jobs.
- Notable Possessions:
- Heated vibrodagger
- A songsteel jambiya (curved dagger) given to him by Tammuz Hoole
- Skills: As a genetically engineered being, he possesses numerous abilities mainly suited to undercover work and subterfuge. He is classified as a changeling, or a member of a species capable of changing their form in order to mimic other species. While serving in the Lao-mon Planetary Defense Force, he received extensive combat training and can use both ranged and melee weapons. He prefers melee, especially daggers and small concealable knives.
- Personality: Pygar is a freedom fighter. He was one before he was turned into a Changeling, and he is one now. No amount of brainwashing will ever be able to completely wipe away his inclinations toward freedom, rebellion, independence, and standing up against injustice. He has the primary personality traits associated with Sith Changelings—namely their curiosity and intelligence, but he’s not as smart as he thinks he is, and he sometimes tries too hard to be clever, resulting in mistakes and flubs that could've been easily avoided if he didn't overthink things.
Much of his identity is defined by the nature of his “birth” at the hands of a mad scientist in a bleak Sith laboratory, particularly through the lack of natural familial connections these circumstances created. He found belonging among the Shi'ido after he was officially adopted into Clan Hoole, to whom he is completely loyal.
- Weapon of Choice: Heated vibrodagger
- Combat Function: From the species sub: “Patient and social predators, most Changelings strongly prefer fighting with the element of surprise, relying heavily on their natural subterfuge and agility to slit throats in private or employ strike and fade tactics in war zones.”
- Limited Shapeshifting: He can turn into various humanoid forms.
- Social Butterfly: Pygar likes people, and people tend to like Pygar. At least, up until they find out he's actually a spawn of the Sith, in which case things inevitably get a little weird. But there's no reason for him to advertise his heritage to everyone he meets, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
- Lightning Fast Reflexes: Exactly what it sounds like. He's also pretty quick on his feet.
- Goldfish Eyes: He can see in both infrared and ultraviolet. Just like a goldfish.
- Robot Eye: His right eye, damaged in a fight, has been replaced by a cybernetic piece which can switch between several baseline human iris colors.
- Untainted: He is not tainted by the Dark Side despite the nature of his creation.
- Independent-minded: He can survive on his own and think for himself, thank you.
- Moral Compass: He has a strong sense of right and wrong so deeply ingrained, not even the Sith could erase it.
- The Spy Who Shanked Me: He likes doing spy stuff, and sometimes he's actually pretty good at it. He has no problem going undercover, performing covert operations, assassinations, intel gathering, persuasion, etc. Well, usually... sometimes he tries too hard. (see weaknesses)
- Limited Shapeshifting: He can't increase or decrease his mass all that much, so shifting into a Hutt or a Croke is out of the question. The transformation is always painful, and if he is knocked unconscious or loses concentration, he will revert back to his natural form.
- Low Stamina: While he has patience in spades, he can't handle long periods of exertion. Doesn't have the stamina for it.
- Bag of Bones: You see how skinny he is? Those bones poking through his ashen skin are fragile and easily broken. He also bruises easily and can't take too many hits before he goes down.
- Blinded by the Light: The goldfish eye is more sensitive to light.
- Off-Brand Lucidum Tapetum: In a situation where he needs to use his special inner eye to see special stuff, he can't hide it with shifting. So like, if he wanted to see ultraviolet light, but he also didn't want to let on that he had such an ability to the person(s) he's with... oh well.
- Mindwiped and Mindcontrolled: At the hands of his creator, he had all his memories of his past erased. This causes him some degree of emotional distress; he often wonders if he has friends and relatives out there somewhere who are either looking for him or have assumed he's dead. In addition, he suffers from the lingering trauma of having spent three years in the thrall of a Sith who utilized a form of mind control upon him until he outlived his usefulness.
- Oh, the Cleverness of Me!: He may be bred for intelligence, but while trying to be the smartest person in the room, he tends to go too far and make some pretty dumb mistakes.
Pygar used to be somebody. That's the case with virtually all of his kind, who were bioengineered in the lab of the Sith Lord Darth Prospero using a combination of science and alchemy. His memories of his past life were erased, his identity lost. He no longer remembers where he came from, what his parents were like, who or even what he was.
Created to serve as one of Prospero's Sithspawn minions, Pygar was nonetheless a natural born rebel. He quickly grew to despise his "creator" and the Sith Empire. Within two years of his rebirth, he began making plans to escape.
There was only one other person he trusted, his "sister" and fellow Sith Changeling Faya. In her he confided his dreams of leaving the Empire behind, traveling somewhere far away and starting a new life as a free agent. Faya listened to him in silence, entertaining even his fantasies of ruining Prospero, but in secret she chafed against this disloyal talk and plotted to be rid of him.
When a new Sith-Imperial diplomat named Inanna Hoole visited Prospero's nightclub and approached the two of them, Pygar approached her and asked for her help. Initially reluctnat, Inanna reluctantly agreed to help smuggle him out of Sith space, sending him to her parents with an enclosed letter explaining his situation. She also invoked ish'ken, the Shi'ido "spirit of adoption", requesting that her parents take Pygar in as a son. Before he left, Pygar broke into Tower Vandiir and stole vital data from Prospero's personal computer, placing it on a datachip.
On his way to Lao-mon, Pygar used what was left of his money to purchase a heated vibrodagger at an auction. A group of thugs tried to rob him afterward. When they realized he had no more credits, a fight broke out. In the scuffle, Pygar's right eye was gouged out.
Upon reaching the Hoole family residence on Lao-mon, Pygar gave Inanna's parents, Tammuz and Lilith, the letter and the stolen datachip. After viewing the contents of the data, Tammuz prepared to release it to the public. Prospero sent a Sith Doppelganger and a small team of soldiers to Lao-mon to kill Pygar and destroy the data, but they were killed by the members of the Hoole family. Pygar went into hiding at an abandoned mining facility in the nearby mountains. During this period, his eye was operated on and replaced with a cybernetic eyeball.
Weeks later, Pygar received a call from Tammuz. Inanna and an unknown individual had arrived within the system. Her companion bore a similar aura to Pygar's, indicating they were a Changeling like him. Though Tammuz urged Pygar to remain in hiding, when Lilith revealed the Changeling was Faya, Pygar rushed to confront her.
But it was too late. Faya, who had been sent along as a carrier for a Dark Side demon conjured up by Prospero to destroy the data no matter what, had fallen unconscious as the demon was released. Tammuz was able to capture it using a shield talisman, but the truth of this surprise visit was revealed. Inanna, having made a deal with Prospero, destroyed the data before their very eyes.
Pygar, who had risked his life to preserve the data, began to despair. But Tammuz called him forward and invoked ish'ken, officially adopting Pygar - and disowning Inanna, who left the planet with Faya.
As a member of Clan Hoole, Pygar was treated as family. When the Brotherhood of the Maw invaded Lao-mon, he joined the rebels and fought for his adopted homeworld. He was present at the Battle of Goshen, where he was presumed killed in action. Alas, this was not the truth - Pygar had been "saved" by a Sith named Erictho, who seized control of his mind. Crafting yet another identity for him, she renamed him "Petyr" and brought him with her to Coruscant to serve as an unknowing pawn in her game against the Sithspawn Sanctorium.
Following the destruction of the Sanctorium, Erictho suffered a wound which resulted in her losing control over "Petyr", who remembered his true identity and fought against her. Erictho seriously wounded Pygar and left him for dead, but he was discovered and healed by Inanna, her HRD companion Ayreon, and the Jedi Master Qhorin Solas.
