- Pyre: The Pyre’s signature weapon offers it incredible firepower against armored targets and fortifications, and it is able to simply out range and destroy most equivalent or even heavier targets. As well, it carries weapons better suited against infantry, light armor, or hostile ground-attack starfighters.
- Protected: The Pyre has significant defense in the form of countermeasures and composite armor, giving it excellent protection from HEAT, kinetic penetrator, laser, and energy weapons.
- Droid brain: The emergency droid brain isn’t very smart, and is only a stopgap measure. If the droid brain is tampered with, it will undoubtedly cause major problems for the crew and those around it.
- Rather conspicuous: It’s large and loud, no sneaking up on the enemy. As well, the firing of the main plasma cannon will throw up a huge energy signature that will give away its location to sensor systems.
- Not a transport: The tank can only carry a single passenger and has only enough room for crew equipment.
- Turret Traverse: The Pyre’s turret traverse speed is rather slow, making it difficult for the tank to target small, fast moving targets with its primary turret weapons. For this reason it is often escorted by smaller tanks and light armored vehicles much like a spaceborne capital ship
Built on Arms Dynamics’ largest tank chassis, the Bonfire, the Pyre Superheavy Tank is a dedicated tank hunter created to destroy enemy armor at range and obliterate entire heavy walker formations. The Pyre’s main Pyrestar Plasma Cannon fires huge plasma encased shells over vast distances, using pinpoint firepower to puncture the thickest armor and fry the crew inside their doomed vehicle. The Pyrestar does carry a light anti-infantry and anti-air armament but it is almost always paired with a Bonfire to keep smaller vehicles and infantry back while it deals with heavier targets.
The large size of the Pyre means it cannot rely on armour and shielding alone. For this it is additionally protected by standard anti laser aerosol canisters as seen on other Arms Dynamics vehicles, along with a missile deactivation transmitter and a Firework Active Protection system to provide protection from ATGMs and HEAT warheads.
