Question about Dominions

Is having "Open" or in the case of one thread i joined "wide open" really legal with a Dominion or did I join a thread with Kezeroth without knowing who could really join it due to the poster of the thread saying it was open?

And it has been ruled that non-faction members are allowed in dominions by staff, so you're good.
