Questions answered, please.

So I've been working a development thread for a mask that my character needs to survive due to an accident he received. The mask will have at least four unique parts to make up the special features of it. Lens, air filtration system, alloy, and one I'm still thinking about.

The questions I have are:

1. Do I need to make a factory submission for each unique feature and then add the approved links to the final submission? They are not canon but something new ( I think).

2. If the answer to question one is a yes, can I use the same development thread for all four submissions (lens, air filtration system, the one I'm still thinking about, and the final product)? I left out the alloy part because it's canon but because of what the alloy can do, I included it in my development thread anyway. The alloy is not one of the restricted alloys on the site but I'm just covering myself.

You can, but it some instances it's not a requirement. I ran through several threads for my lightsaber gathering up parts, but most people would probably span that through the course of one thread. Your preferred method is usually the determining factor in how many threads you need to do and/or how many submissions you need to turn in. Personally, I would do the subs just to have a certain sense of fully fleshing out the whole thing.

Like I said above, how you develop your article of equipment is dependent on your preference. You could develop and submit (or just submit to see what happens) your different parts, or you could do the whole mess in one thread but then each piece wouldn't be its own submission but rather tied up in a neat bundle together. Also, if you use a development thread for one aspect of your piece, you can't double-dip that same thread as far as I'm aware.

I hope this helps, but if not or if things are still fuzzy, [member="Isley Verd"] and [member="Spencer Varanin"] are the people I usually annoy about stuff like this. There's also Jorus Merrill but he's on LOA.

In the templates provided in the Technology portion of the factory, you'll see a field labeled armor. As your intended submission is a helmet, this is the stencil you'll essentially follow when posting it up. That said, there is a field within said template labeled special features. Basically, you list all the bells and whistles that go into your helmet there and elaborate upon them in the description field. For a Lense, Filtration System, and Canon Material (assuming that it isn't a restricted item) you shouldn't need a development thread. Frankly, Mandalorian helmets are filled to the brim with bells and whistles, so a filtration system and Lense aren't world-shattering in the slightest.

As not everything needs development threads, I do suggest doing one mostly to help build the story and shows that you've put work into obtaining the item.
What KFAJ said. You don't need it, but it is always a plus to show it was adapted through IC means.

[member="Clovis Torcularis"] I would recommended that you get made from phrik or beskar, as one of my character has habit of crushing breathing apparatus. They are one few metals i can't crush, and it might save your life. Though as your a force user, I would recommend you learn breath control as a back up.
