Questions: So many, so little time...

So, let's get down to business. My friend and I are making a Star Wars fan film based in the EU canon about 22 ABY having to do with the Jedi Academy created by Luke Skywalker, and I have a few questions concerning the research portion as I can't seem to get ahold of the books from that time era. Here are a few of my various questions.

I. Can anyone tell me just anything they know about the academy itself and the surrounding area?

II. What sort of attire did padawans wear? The masters?

III. Did padawans live in the academy?

IV. What various did training sessions consist of? Did they train in groups, or one on one?

V. How did masters and padawans work?

And...
VI. What was daily life at the academy like?

Thanks so much in advance!

Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy - YouTube Video Game Walkthrough - Part 1

Start your awesome'ness at 2:30. Then skip to 7:20 and enjoy.

Naturally, this entire video game aims to explain exactly the experience you are wanting to know about. However, I doubt you'll enjoy watching an entire video game. Lulz. So just use it as a reference. Cheers! :D

I. Can anyone tell me just anything they know about the academy itself and the surrounding area?
  • Yavin 4 - Jungle Moon - Ancient Massassi Temples dot the landscape - A Force Nexus moon.

II. What sort of attire did padawans wear? The masters?
  • Skywalker had a limited budget. So students wore whatever cultural attire they came with. Anything goes. Until later they were provided Jedi robes by the Republic.

III. Did padawans live in the academy?
  • Yes. However some students opted to live inside their personal ships too. Like an RV.

IV. What various did training sessions consist of? Did they train in groups, or one on one?
  • This is open to interpretation. Each teacher had their own method and were very very different. The moon was dangerous however. So this is often used as common training too.

V. How did masters and padawans work?
  • This is open to interpretation. The longer Skywalker was on Yavin, the more time he had to actually build a routine and write the textbooks. Most Masters just did their own thing and the students followed along as best they could. In later years? There was more structure. Classrooms, lectures, databases, libraries, clothing, security, guards, and just generally more stuff. I believe they even built a Shield Generator to defend the Main Temple.

VI. What was daily life at the academy like?
  • Early on. Scouting, charting, mapping, rebuilding, renovating, expanding, and just generally gathering people together. It was very 'whatever'. Skywalker was flying by the seat of his pants. So it was messy at first. Years later? It was a completely structured Republic Base set out across the jungle. Dorms, Barracks, Hanger Bays, Flight Crews, Mess Halls, Radio Stations, etc. It kinda had a military feel to it. Everything in order and everybody in their place. But not quite like the Jedi Temples of old, where they had literally everything a Jedi could ever want at their finger tips.

[member="Zephyrus Cloud"] I agree. We'd call it: "Star Wars: Droughts and Firefighters. Death and Taxes Remastered Edition."

Now on Blue-ray. No fireworks allowed. :p
