Quiet On Set

image_cdc70c91.jpeg
Ord Mantell City, Ord Mantell

"Yeah... this could work." Bato Golden paced through one of the many side streets that wove through the city, grinning ear to ear as a small camera-droid hovered behind him. In his search for odd jobs to fill his time, Bato stumbled across a potential set that filled him with ideas. The small alley he was fawning over was astonishingly clean, for alley standards. No obvious filth, mostly empty, and best of all, quiet. He had already rented out the cantina on it's left for a big brawl scene, and due to a well placed window, there was more than enough room to have the fight spill outside. The lighting was fantastic indoors, the dive-bar aesthetic worked perfectly with the scene he was hoping for, and most fortunately of all, the owner was a fan. And while the pictures of himself had to be removed from the walls, Bato couldn't help but smile at the boost to his ego.

He turned back to his holo-communicator eagerly. "Vel? Yeah, call those stunt guys. Let's get this place set up."

Delivering what? Movie props? To a a. she really hadn't heard of much...then again she was quiet surprised really, while in transit with stuff she usually watcged holos or whatever she could

However on arrival she quickly stardust getting the props delivered, she paid a little to be a extra, or well watch for she was curious about this man, and this movie or whatever he was making

[member="Bato Golden"]

"Hey, alright, we've got the sugar glass. Do me a favor, lay it on the bar counter, we'll get it installed in a bit." The actor scanned the rest of the room idly. "... Has anyone seen the stuntmen?"

As if on cue, four heavily armed men walked on set. They were relatively well armed, and their blasters certainly weren't props. Still, this flew straight over Bato's head, and he approached the group beaming. "Oh hey, you guys even came in costume. It's a bit too... military, but props for effort."

One of the four, a Trandoshan, stepped forward and started asking questions that unfortunately, weren't in Basic. After a moment's frustration, the merc held up a picture that looked a lot like one of the recently arrived extras.

D'vok wasn't sure what to think of Ord Mantel, not yet at least. He sipped his almost empty glass of corellian whiskey. The bartender was watching him expectantly. He was the only one at the bar, and in the building, other than some prettyboy and a woman. D'vok overheard several bits of conversation between the man and a rodian whom he presumed to be the owner of the dive bar. Apparently prettyboy was a movie star. They were shooting a scene. D'vok watched as they set up lighting and microphones, and brought in several extras. D'vok just sipped his drink and watched. He assumed they'd be fine with him staying, as he had the typical "scruffy looking nerfherder" look. D'vok watched from the bar as the movie star struggled to understand the mercenaries. D'vok, being fluent in multiple languages, understood, well rather, got the gist of the transdoshan mercenary's exclamation. His eyes moved from the celebrity to the merc's guns. He quickly stepped in between them. The mercenaries looked at each other, and then turned to D'vok.

The mercenaries looked at each other, and then turned to D'vok, answering his question in a different language.

The mercenaries pondered the offer. D'vok reached for something on his belt.

Sara watched as her men put everything into.place, she gave a nod to herself as she looked around and just so happens to spot trouble, mercenaries, and it seemed the ones who tried to cross her...so she through their cargo into space...seems they were sore people

She moved back a little to get around the people, she found a mask and put it on as she moved towards [member="Bato Golden"] and spoke quietky* move back from them...those ain't actors there...their real live mercenaries out for blood...follow*she said gently pulling him*

@D'vok Windroamer

(OOC: Yeah, so I can't read any of that, at all. I think it's Huttese but honestly I'm not sure and no translator I can find is helping.)

Bato rubbed his temples and sighed. "Shoulda bought a translator droid..." Then however, yet another of the extras walked over to the presumed stunt crew, and started talking. Bato grinned. "Alright, someone speaks whatever that is. Thanks man, do you know what they want?"

Then he heard one of the extras whisper to him. "Huh, oh." But instead of following, he turned back to the mercs. "Hey, I'm sorry guys, but we're filming here, so if you're not part of the crew, I'll need you to step off set."

After a few seconds of silence, he leaned over to the man who spoke their language. "Could you please repeat that, but so they understand it?"

[member="Adal Armina"] @D'vok Windroamer

((OOC: I use http://starwars.myrpg.org/coruscant_translator.php))

D'vok turned to the man, nodding his head, before looking back at the mercs. They seemed angry.
"Uba cha gee bu molee rah. An bamee jeejee doth bu yuna biodovakadue du bu yoskah. Jeejee vee yoieu tee yae."
They were almost yelling now. D'vok's expression changed from relaxed to serious. The mercenaries spoke again.
"An banpop, uba ye backa uba gee wa wah chee. Bu yih hatkocanh wamma dan che mee kloonkee."
D'vok realized the scene was about to get ugly unless he reacted quick. They wouldn't expect it. Not if he was fast enough. D'vok's hand rested on his belt. He turned to the movie star.
"I apologize in advance, I'll comp you the damage."
D'vok ripped his DL-44 from it's holster, firing two shots at each mercenary.

Upon D'vok's firing, the room exploded into violence. The smell of smoke soon filled the air, along with the sound of blasters and broken furniture.

Two of the mercenaries, the Trandoshan and the man who stood next to him, hit the ground with a thud, very much dead. Unfortunately, the remaining two that survived still posed a threat. One of them, a Bothan, was quickly withdrawing, taking shots at the stranger who attacked them, while the last merc, a human, appeared to have lost his nerve entirely, and was currently spraying the room with blaster fire indiscriminately.

To his credit, Bato Golden had managed to roll into cover behind the bar, next to a pair of extras and the owner, who's emotional state had dissolved into a mixture of fury and fear. Still, the bulk of the film team were now cowering behind flimsy dive bar tables and vintage jukeboxes, and neither seemed particularly blaster-proof for long.

"What the kriff are you doing?!" Bato yelled. "You can't just shoot at people!"

[member="Adal Armina"] @D'vok Windroamer

"Tell that to them! These nerfherders were about to kill me and a bunch'a other people."
D'vok fired repeatedly at the human, focusing fire on his hands, and the blaster he was using.
"Yaee Koochoo! JeeCanta Uba Doth Yoskah baa Yuna! Uba Naa Killee Taceueh Dan Joday?! Dhiua du Kanway WERMO!"
D'vok rolled into cover next to [member="Bato Golden"].

Stupid people she said danger was near and...kriff....

Once the bar exploded she was immediately behind civer, she reached to her side and pulled out a small pistol, enough to hold out with the other two

*ya know I said these guys were trouble and you tried to talking fething idots*

She said and poked out as she fired one and another

*hey pretty boy is there any security around here?*

She said and looked to dvok

*hey I'm gonna try and get the bothan keep focused on that other guy will ya*

She peeked out and fired at the bothan aiming for the chest and arms

[member="Bato Golden"] @D'vok Windroamer

"No! There's no security!" Bato flinched as wood splinters flew over head. "It's supposed to be a one day shoot, and I'm distinctly recall putting 'no lunatics or criminals' on the extras application." He peeked his head above the bar counter and called out to his film crew. "Just stay down guys, it'll be over soon!"

The Bothan merc nearly made it to cover, but he wasn't fast enough. A few seconds too late, and [member="Adal Armina"] 's blaster shots left him lying on the ground. The last remaining mercenary was hunkered behind cover though, and after seeing his teammates get gunned down, he certainly wasn't going anywhere. He kept spraying his blaster rifle at anything that moved or was generally in the room, and guessing from the smoke coming off the bar, it wasn't going to hold for much longer.

D'vok glanced at [member="Adal Armina"].
"Well at least I tried to de-escalate the situation first! What were you doing?" He yelled over the blaster fire.
D'vok ignored the bothan, who lied on the ground, yelling for his mother, and clutching his wounds. D'vok concentrated his fire on the last man. D'vok knew his DL-44 could blast right through most cover and armor. He fired through the merc's cover, as well as his head, which was exposed.

The human was too busy cowering behind cover to ever see it coming. A few seconds after the blaster bolt hit his table, he slumped down beside it, head still smoking.

Bato peaked up and out of cover, and after seeing all the aggressors in the room were down, approached the last one alive, yanked him up to his feet, and demanded some answers. "Alright, now you just put me and my film crew in some serious danger, so I'm gonna ask you questions that you'll answer. Speak Basic, or I'll punch you till you can."

The Bothan, still entirely incapable of speaking Basic, looked terrified.

Bato sighed and pointed over to D'vok. "Hey, buddy. Translate this for me."

[member="Adal Armina"] | @D'vok Windroamer

D'vok jogged over to [member="Bato Golden"]. He listened to him, nodding his head.
"No problem go ahead."
D'vok turned to the bothan.
"Eniki babatpiuh Bacake-osa kloonkee uba doth meeto toe toupee ten haku jeejee banag bai bla mo baua. Uba canta uba doth du sauay ateema?
D'vok shoved his blaster barrel into the man's open wound, causing immense pain.
" Uba doth meeto toe nai jeejee kille uba bankop."

Adal grinned as she scored the hit, she stayed behind cover till she heard the last guy go down, she peeked out as she sughed and brushed her hair from her eyes

*well then excited set I'd say*

She said trying to make a little humour figuring it would lighten the air

*they were here for me...rather bastard tried to snip me of a deal, I jetted their cargo in space, guess they didn't think about it before they attacked...I'll pay for the damage...least I can do for my troubke*

She said politely and slipped her blaster away

*names adal armina...I'm a small time shipping company owner *

@D'vok Windroamer[member="Bato Golden"]

D'vok gave a puzzled look at [member="Adal Armina"].
"...No, they're not. They were here to claim a bounty on That poor sack over there,"
D'vok pointed to an extra who sat in the corner, crying.
"... And myself."

Bato winced at D'vok's torture technique. "Woah, easy man, I was bluffing hard. I don't wanna, y'know, kill the guy."

Still, he turned back to the Bothan. "Alright, so, first que-" He trailed off when [member="Adal Armina"] started speaking. He narrowed his eyes as she explained her story, and actively glared when D'vok joined in.

"So, just summarizing, both of you are the reason this bar's trashed and my guys got shot at?" He sighed and turned away from the Bothan, letting him slide back down to the floor. Bato paced around the room, running his hand through his hair in worry. "Oh, chit. Perfect. The press is gonna crucify me. Thanks guys."

D'vok looked at Bato, giving him a tired expression.
"Don't worry. You'll be fine. What happened HERE," D'vok yelled, standing up and looking at everyone else in the bar.
"Was that one of the mercenary's weapons went off unexpectedly, causing the shootout." D'vok tossed a five hundred thousand credit chip to the bartender, and started doing the same for the scattered extras, finally handing about ten to Bato.
"Again, sorry about the inconveniance."

[member="Bato Golden"]

*Hey listen I had no idea they were tracking me*

She said and watched as @D'vok Windroamer started throwing money around she shook her head and placed a a hand on batos shoulder

*listen just calm down ok...everything gonna be fine besides you just saved your crew and all that*

She said and winked

Bato takes a deep breath and sighs. "Right, yeah. Okay, I heroically didn't trash this cantina but saved everyone. Or one of my guys did it, sure. Whatever." He turned to his crew, who were still scattered in various locations across the room. "Everyone okay?" After a brief chorus of 'yes' and 'yeah', Bato turned back to the man handing out money.

"Now, I'm no expert at counting, but I'm almost positive you just handed out over a million credits." The actor crossed his arms. "What the kriff do you do for a living that lets you walk into other people's bars, trash the place, leave corpses everywhere, and then throw money around to get away with it?"

After a brief pause, he added, "No offense."
