DESCRIPTION

Appearing as little more than an onyx sphere which can fit comfortably in the hand of any Republic soldier, the R-X Infiltrator Droid is an exceptional compliment to any sniper or covert operative's arsenal. Based upon the blueprints of Clone War-era recon droids, the R-X is rather versatile in its design. The Type 1 variation is designed with the typical, Republic sniper in mind and is equipped with a repulsorlift. This allows the unit to freely move about the field of battle, providing valuable data directly to the HUD of a soldier's helmet. Furthermore, this "helmet interface" is extremely useful in the marking of targets, as the unit is capable of clearly indicating the distance and obstacles between a sniper and his target.

The Type 2 variant is equipped, as opposed to its counterpart, with a multi-functional, retractable arm. This arm is primarily utilized in basic slicing and data collection tasks; as it can be inserted to various access points. The slicing capabilities of this unit are very basic and revolve around the bypassing of electronic locks and countermeasures on doors or the circumventing of firewalls in order to gain data. While this unit cannot breach the highest level of firewalls or countermeasures, it can easily open a door for its operative. Furthermre, as opposed to a repulsorlift, the unit is built to be octopedal. This is primarily for stealth purposes, as these legs can imbed themselves into physical surfaces; resulting in an exceptional, recording device which can easily be planted in a dark corner.
